With Serena Feng, Nothing Is Impossible

2/14/2026

Never mind how convenient this warm conservatory is for chatting—the scenery and atmosphere alone are enough to be called romantic. Walking in, you can't help but feel your body and mind relax.

Fresh flowers, beautiful people, fine food, stunning views—this conservatory wasn’t built just for women. Every detail is perfectly arranged; wherever you sit, you see a different scene, making it impossible to leave.

William Wang Jinling loved this place. Of course, what he loved most was the person dining with him here—Serena. She had no idea how worried and afraid he’d been when he heard Serena had been locked in the Sky Prison.

He wasn’t worried Serena wouldn’t get out; he was worried she’d suffer inside. Even as head of House Warren, he was powerless before the royal Sky Prison.

For those ten days, Serena couldn’t eat or sleep well in the Sky Prison—and neither could he.

Yesterday, when he got news Serena had been released, he wanted to see her right away. But he figured she’d be disheveled after ten days in prison and wouldn’t want anyone to see her like that, so he forced himself to wait.

He hadn’t expected that early this morning, Serena would send him an invitation. He had a vague guess why she wanted to see him, but he was still happy.

At least, when Serena needed something, she thought of him.

Once Serena sat down, William took the seat across from her. Seeing her so close—just an arm’s length away—the smile on his face grew even brighter.

“Serena, this conservatory is truly one of a kind. Only you would have the creativity to use it this way.” Best of all was this dining table—a long rectangle, yet when you sat across from someone, you were only an arm’s length away. To be this close… it was wonderful.

Unfortunately, Serena didn’t catch his meaning—she just thought William was simply complimenting the conservatory. Embarrassed, she replied, “If this warm house gets praise from the Grand Heir, it really must be good. But honestly, William, you deserve most of the credit for getting it built.”

Serena felt a little undeserving of William’s praise. She’d only come up with the idea, and this was her first time here. Lounging lazily in her chair, she looked around and had to admit—it really was well built. Just by looking up, you could see the blue sky and white clouds.

Ahem… Too bad the weather today was just so-so. Worse, Nolan couldn’t join her for lunch here—he was allergic to pollen.

“Me? What does it have to do with me?” William was confused. Seeing Serena recline in her chair, looking so comfortable, he couldn’t help but drop his manners and lean back lazily, just like her.

Warm and cozy—no wonder it felt so good. Serena really knew how to enjoy herself.

“Of course it does. This whole inn was built by those two maids you gave me.” Serena picked up a bamboo skewer, stabbed a piece of fruit, and popped it into her mouth.

With William, Serena didn’t have to scheme or pretend. She could speak freely, and as for table manners—forget it. She’d visited several households today, keeping up with all the etiquette was exhausting.

William was never one to fuss over details. Serena’s ease and spontaneity might seem improper to others, but to him, it was genuine.

When you like someone, everything about them seems good.

“Looks like you’re better at training people than I am. Those two were never this sharp back at the Wang house.” William didn’t let Serena take all the credit, and leisurely began eating fruit as well.

Many of the fruits in the conservatory weren’t even in season—Serena had no idea where they’d come from. Expensive crystal platters were used just for serving fruit; it was extravagant, but she had to admit, the fruit looked jewel-bright and mouthwatering in those dishes.

William silently admired how well Serena knew how to enjoy life—she was no less than him, the head of House Warren. He even suspected Serena’s background wasn’t as simple as people thought.

“It’s also because the people you gave me are good.” Even though she was close to William, Serena knew it was polite to show gratitude when asking for help. As they chatted and ate fruit, the waiter soon brought their meal.

No talking while eating or sleeping—even Serena, who didn’t care much about table manners, wouldn’t discuss business at the table. After the meal, they got up to stroll through the flower house, using the walk to digest and talk proper business.

“William, I only got out of the Sky Prison this time thanks to you.” Serena lowered her head and casually plucked a rose.

Roses were expensive in this season, but Serena didn’t care at all—she tore apart the carefully cultivated flower without a second thought. William stood behind her, only watching with indulgence as she destroyed the blooms.

“It was nothing, really. I wasn’t the one who did the hard work.” William never tried to take all the credit—the mastermind behind it was Nolan. He’d just gone along with the plan.

Serena knew that perfectly well. "Without your help, I couldn't have gotten out either. You're just being modest."

“Was it really worth you coming all this way just to thank me for something so minor?” William didn’t like Serena acting so formal with him—he was a bit helpless about it. If anyone should be saying thanks, it was him.

“Of course not. I wouldn’t go out of my way to find you, the busiest man in town, just to say thank you. I invited you here today because I have something important to discuss.” Serena turned to face William directly.

Among the flowers, the man was gentle, the woman charming—they gazed at each other. If there was real affection in their eyes, it would have been a beautiful scene. But that wasn’t the case…

William felt a twinge of regret. "So what did you want to talk about today? Do we really need to be so formal with each other?"

“Of course not.” Serena smiled sheepishly. “William, I’ve convinced the Cui family to help rescue Nolan. I know you’ve been busy too—could you work with the Cui family?”

Serena looked at William eagerly, waiting for his answer.

“Work with the Cui family to rescue Nolan?” William finished Serena’s thought for her.

“Yes.” Serena nodded. She’d sounded confident in front of Holden Cui, but she wasn’t sure if William would agree—he was not just the Grand Heir, but head of House Warren. Would he do something with no benefit to himself?

William didn’t answer Serena’s question. Instead, he asked, “How did you convince the Cui family? They’re actually willing to work with House Warren—are they coming out of seclusion?”

William saw further and clearer than Serena—this move from the Cui family was a signal they were coming down from the mountain. Otherwise, why would they bother with something so thankless?

Serena was startled, then nodded in sudden realization. "No wonder—no wonder Holden Cui agreed so quickly. So that's what it is…"

Sons of great families—none of them are easy to deal with.

Still, she wasn’t losing out—a win-win situation was much better than forcing the Cui family to help. This way, they couldn’t blame her afterward.

“Did you really think the Cui family would do something so costly just for Holden Cui? If I’m right, this is their signal—they’re coming out of seclusion, showing off their strength.”

What could be a stronger show of power than rescuing Nolan? Nothing would make the royal family more wary of the Cui clan.

Of course, this wasn’t the Cui family’s only chance to make their move. But for Serena to persuade them, and for them to choose this moment to step forward, meant Serena was truly remarkable…
