Cici Goes Into Labor

1/4/2026

No matter what the three of them said, Molly Yun just calmly ate her meal, occasionally picking up food for Cecilia Gu.

Eric Jiang instantly felt a sense of defeat!

Charles Yin struggled to hold back his laughter and exchanged a glance with Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia Gu winked back at Charles Yin.

The couple kept exchanging glances, but Molly Yun didn’t care, and Eric Jiang couldn’t see it!

Cecilia Gu deliberately said, "Cousin, didn’t you say you wanted to talk to Charles about the overseas airport construction tonight? It’s so late already, why not stay over? It’s not like our house can’t accommodate you."

Eric Jiang immediately gave Cecilia Gu a grateful smile. "Well..."

Charles Yin also said, "Yeah, it’s not the first time you’ve stayed over. Why act so reserved? It’s settled then!"

Cecilia Gu continued, "Hmm, just in time—the guest room has been tidied up. It’s right next to Molly Yun’s room. You can stay there."

A trace of helplessness flashed in Molly Yun’s eyes, but she quickly hid it.

With Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin so blatantly trying to set her up with Eric Jiang, how could Molly Yun not understand?

She was just pretending not to notice.

A lot of things, once made explicit, leave no room for maneuver.

She didn’t want to stir up too much trouble before Cecilia Gu gave birth.

That kiss today had already gone beyond her control.

She couldn’t make that kind of mistake again!

After dinner, Charles Yin and Eric Jiang pretended to chat for a while, and sure enough, Eric Jiang ended up staying in the room next to Molly Yun.

The two of them shared a small living room and a small bathroom.

It was as if Molly Yun was deliberately avoiding Eric Jiang. Whenever Eric Jiang went out, she absolutely wouldn’t come out; only after he finished did she use the living room or bathroom.

Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin craned their necks, hoping something secretive would happen between them, but after waiting all night, nothing seemed to happen!

Cecilia couldn’t hold back her curiosity and asked Charles, “Did you ever teach your secret moves to Eric?”

Charles grumbled, “I taught him everything! It just doesn’t make sense!”

Cecilia was puzzled too. “They’re sharing the same suite and nothing happened? That’s just weird!”

Whether it makes sense or not, whether it’s logical or not...

The next morning, after a restless night for Cecilia and Charles, Eric and Molly were up early, looking fresh and energetic.

When they found out nothing had happened last night, Cecilia and Charles were so frustrated, it was like they’d been played!

Since there was no spark, Eric couldn’t stay any longer. After breakfast, he said his goodbyes.

Cecilia wanted to help more, but she was really out of ideas.

Because, honestly, the New Year was almost here.

The days that followed were a whirlwind of activity.

Soon, it was New Year’s Eve.

Mr. and Mrs. Yun came early to honor their ancestors, then flew in to spend the holiday with Cecilia.

It was the first New Year everyone celebrated together. Cecilia had already invited Jane Gu over, and these days Jane and Ethan Yin were always playing together.

With Cecilia about to give birth, Jane worried Ethan would get too rambunctious, so she took him out on her own and planned to return after Cecilia’s delivery.

So, on New Year’s Eve, all the family and friends gathered for a lively celebration.

The internet really makes everything easier these days.

Even though Sophie Mo was celebrating at home and Max Mo was in England, everyone hopped on video chat to eat, laugh, and welcome the New Year together.

Sophie told Cecilia that Max had become a dad to twin boys through surrogacy abroad—both clever and adorable.

Cecilia was really touched when she heard the news.

Even though Max still wasn’t married, having kids meant one less regret in life, and the Mo Family finally had an heir.

Otherwise, I'd really die of guilt.

During dinner, Molly Yun sat obediently beside Mr. and Mrs. Yun, personally pouring tea and serving food, making Mrs. Yun glance at her more than once.

Molly, are you sure it’s okay not to go home for New Year’s?" Mrs. Yun couldn’t help asking. "After all, you do have parents."

Molly really couldn’t say, "You’re my real mom!"

That’s something she absolutely couldn’t say.

She could only smile and say, "It’s fine, I’ve already let them know. They also support me staying here to help Cecilia. Some things are more urgent than others—the doctor said Cecilia’s placenta is already in the second stage, and the baby could drop into the pelvis at any time. Second pregnancies are often shorter than the first, so it’s just a few days. I’ll go back after Cecilia safely delivers."

Mrs. Yun was moved and said, "You really are something... Cecilia and you have already gone through so much together, and you’re still so devoted."

"It’s what I should do." Molly smiled softly and lowered her eyes, hiding the bitterness there.

Her parents were right in front of her, but she couldn’t acknowledge them.

Her sister was so close, but she could only approach her under a false identity.

She owed them too much in her past life—let her make it up to them in this one.

Mr. Yun also said, "You really remind me of our Nora."

Mr. Yun’s words drew everyone’s attention, and they all looked at Molly.

Molly struggled to hide her shock and kept her composure. "That’s my honor," she said.

Mr. Yun smiled and said, "When Nora was alive, she always said the thing she wanted most in life was to take good care of her sister. We used to think she was just overthinking, maybe even imagining things. Looking back now, I realize it was a kind of telepathy between sisters! I should have paid more attention—Nora mentioned it several times, but I ignored it."

Cecilia was moved. "Dad, you can’t blame yourself. Most people would have a hard time understanding something like that."

Molly quickly looked away.

Yeah, some things really are hard to understand.

If she admitted she was Nora Yun, would they understand?

They’d probably think she was crazy.
