Martin Wu shouted.
His words made the people around him burst out laughing.
Some of them were genuinely envious from the bottom of their hearts.
Selina Wu, among this group, had always been a uniquely special girl since childhood.
It was only natural.
She had once been the dream girl in the hearts of many boys.
But no one had ever truly won Selina Wu's heart.
Let alone Martin Wu—the guy who would throw punches at anyone daring to even look at his sister the wrong way.
But now, things had changed.
Martin Wu actually took the initiative, asking Evan Lin to call him 'big brother-in-law.'
He was clearly hoping Selina Wu would end up with Evan Lin.
Luckily, Selina Wu wasn't here today.
Otherwise, no one present would know just how jealous they'd get.
It stings, honestly.
Besides Martin Wu, the only ones who came with Ju Xing'an were the usual crowd who hung out with him.
"'Big brother-in-law' isn't something you call lightly."
Evan Lin looked at Martin Wu and nodded, "You've definitely grown compared to before."
"Judging by your strength, you're in the Vajra Realm now, right?"
Martin Wu grinned when Evan asked, looking pretty proud. "One more push and I'll hit fourth-grade Vajra. Getting to third-grade is just a matter of time!"
"I can't compare to you, but I'm honestly satisfied with how much I've improved in such a short time. You think everyone is a monster like you?"
Martin Wu used to be pretty weak.
But after all kinds of training and toughening up, he's made real progress.
Even though his talent is limited and his growth is slow, he can't compare to those prodigies who entered the Pointing-to-Mystery Realm at a young age. Still, reaching his current level makes Martin Wu genuinely satisfied.
"Yeah, when you have time, I'll teach you a breathing and qi-circulation method. If you work hard, entering the Pointing-to-Mystery Realm is just a matter of time."
Hearing Evan Lin say this, quite a few people nearby immediately looked envious.
Martin Wu's eyes lit up and he grinned, "Then I won't be polite."
He never planned to be polite with Evan Lin anyway.
The Evan Lin of today is nothing like the Evan Lin of the past.
Strength proves everything.
But Martin Wu's mindset has always been simple.
Back when he didn't know how strong Evan Lin really was, Martin Wu already wanted to be friends with him.
Even now, with Evan Lin so powerful, Martin doesn't think it affects their relationship at all.
The group all had a meal together.
During the meal, Evan Lin learned what Ju Xing'an had been up to lately.
Ever since the Ju family patriarch restored Allen's status, he's been busy every day taking over family affairs.
He barely has any free time now. This time, Allen was supposed to go out of town for business, but changed his plans last minute because Evan Lin was visiting.
As for Selina Wu, she wasn't there because she's currently taking classes in Oceanport City.
Evan Lin didn't ask, but Martin Wu kept bringing her up, intentionally or not.
He was hoping Evan Lin would call Selina Wu more often.
He even mentioned that the Wu family elders are starting to worry about Selina's marriage prospects.
But honestly, only Martin Wu would say stuff like that out loud.
Allen Ju just laughed when he heard it. Sometimes, when Martin went on too long, even Allen couldn't help but feel exasperated.
When the meal was over, everyone was full and satisfied.
Allen Ju left early because he had things to handle.
Martin Wu was supposed to go train, but insisted he was free now, so he tagged along with Evan Lin back to the hotel.
He didn't bother hiding his intentions at all.
He was just after the qi-circulation method Evan Lin promised to teach him.
"We're all brothers here, so don't hold back on me."
Martin Wu laughed, "Besides, we might end up as family someday."
"Seriously, I went back to Jinnan a few days ago—you have no idea. All those elders at home are super satisfied with you."
Martin Wu kept talking, "Our Wu family doesn't care about dowries or any of that stuff. As long as you two like each other, that's all that matters."
"Honestly, Shi Lan always acts like nothing matters, carefree and wild. But she's still a girl—she needs someone to look out for her."
Martin Wu had drunk quite a bit, his whole body reeking of alcohol. He even burped after finishing his sentence.
"You really want to marry her off that badly?"
Evan Lin shook his head and poured him a cup of tea.
"My sister's gonna get married someday. If she marries someone else, I won't be at ease. But you're different."
"You're reliable, man."
Martin Wu chuckled.
Evan Lin looked at his drunken state, unsure if he was actually drunk or just pretending.
In the past, Martin Wu would never have said something like this.
"We're just friends."
Evan Lin pulled up a chair for him. "Don't you think it's weird to come to me about this?"
It really was weird.
Evan Lin felt like Martin Wu was hiding something.
No matter how straightforward or blunt he was, Martin Wu wouldn't normally be so eager to marry Selina Wu off to Evan Lin.
What even is this?
Martin Wu downed the tea Evan poured and wiped his mouth.
He shook his head. "Yeah, it's a little weird."
"But I know Shi Lan likes you."
Martin Wu thought for a moment. "Since we're already talking about it, I might as well say a little more."
"Honestly, even though I'm Shi Lan's brother, she's barely ever called me 'brother' her whole life. Even when she was a kid, she just called me by my name—Martin Wu."
"But no matter what, she's my sister and I'm her brother. Of course, as her brother, I want the best for her."
"I hope that for the rest of her life, she can be happy, safe, and get everything she wishes for."
Martin Wu looked Evan Lin straight in the eye, his expression suddenly much more serious.
Evan Lin listened quietly, watching him.
Seeing that Evan Lin had no intention of speaking, Martin seemed to make up his mind. "You've probably heard that a lot of weird things have been happening lately, right?"
"Yeah." Evan Lin nodded.
There are strange news stories every day, but they're always being deleted.
It's like someone is trying to erase all evidence.
"Want to know why?" Martin Wu's gaze was dead serious now, with no trace of drunkenness.
Evan Lin stayed silent.
He guessed it might have something to do with the Mysterious Land.
But he had no concrete evidence.
Martin Wu couldn't hold it in any longer and blurted out, "The more anomalies there are, the closer the Xuanqing Sect is to emerging."
"Do you know what the Xuanqing Sect is?"
"It's something hidden outside this world. Its appearance will bring a lot of danger."
"Unpredictable danger!"
