Scaring Herself

The thought sent a cold sweat down Madam Lou’s back. Her legs trembled so badly she could barely walk. She hurried into a roadside teahouse, ordered a pot of tea, and gulped down half a cup before she finally felt a little better.

But the words of those two servants kept echoing in Madam Lou’s mind, impossible to shake off.
