Offending the Huang Family

"Miss, how could that be? Come on, just tell me!" the maid said, unwilling to give up.

"I don't really know how to explain it either. Just go do your own thing," Hannah Nangong replied indifferently.

The maid nodded, but deep down she was still dying to know what Hannah Nangong was thinking.

But Hannah Nangong just sat there in a daze, thinking to herself, 'What if he loses? Or what if he wins?'

Of course, Hannah Nangong hoped Evan Yang would win, but a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal was no pushover. If it were herself, she could go easy on him, but it's different when it's someone else.

"Forget it, enough thinking. I'll go out for a walk," Hannah Nangong said, and left the manor alone, wandering the main street.

As she passed by Fragrant Lily House, she happened to run into some acquaintances—Young Master Hugo and his servants. Seeing Hannah, Young Master Hugo, who was about to enter Fragrant Lily House, stopped her and said, "Hey, isn't this Hannah Nangong, the one picking a husband?"

"I'm not in the mood to argue with you today. Move it," Hannah Nangong said.

"Oh, come on, what's got you so down? Isn't it because you're about to get married?" Young Master Hugo clicked his tongue.

The others burst out laughing. After all, Hannah Nangong was still a woman, and being talked about like this in public would be awkward enough if it were a normal marriage. But now Evan Yang was about to face a dangerous situation, and it wasn't a real marriage with her anyway. So she felt annoyed and snorted coldly, "Say one more word and I won't be polite!"

"Not polite, huh? Tsk tsk, I'd like to see what you call 'not polite.' Are you planning to make a move against me right here in the capital?" Young Master Hugo chuckled.

Hannah Nangong glared at Young Master Hugo, furious. "Careful you don't piss me off, or you'll regret it."

"Didn't you get what I meant just now? Are you really going to stir up trouble between our two families?" Young Master Hugo sneered.

Just then, from the inn across the street, a cup of wine was suddenly tossed out, landing perfectly on Young Master Hugo's face.

Everyone was stunned—who could be so shameless, and who had the guts to pull something like this?

It was none other than Evan Yang, sitting in the inn opposite, drinking. He'd just been relaxing there, but seeing Hannah Nangong and Young Master Hugo, he felt compelled to help his friend. Evan smiled and said, "Sorry, I don't know who Young Master Hugo is. That wasn't on purpose."

"You—you say it wasn't on purpose? You! Get him!" Young Master Hugo shouted angrily. Hannah Nangong was stunned, not expecting Evan Yang to be here, let alone to stand up for her.

Hearing Young Master Hugo's order, everyone watched the show. His underlings charged in, but they were only at the Celestial-Immortal level, nowhere near strong enough for Evan Yang. Evan casually waved his wine, then pointed.

Wine and fire erupted, and suddenly everyone could smell the aroma of wine and roasted pork.

Those men were sent flying, landing on the ground twitching, their bodies reeking of roasted meat—a truly miserable sight.

Young Master Hugo glared furiously at Evan Yang. "Who the hell are you? How dare you attack my men!"

"You're really noisy," Evan Yang replied. The people around were stunned—who was this guy who dared to talk back to Young Master Hugo, a famous figure in the capital?

Young Master Hugo, enraged, leapt forward to attack Evan Yang, but Evan simply released his aura, sending Hugo flying back.

Boom—a loud crash as Hugo was knocked back. The crowd was terrified, and Hugo spat out a mouthful of blood. Hannah Nangong was alarmed; Evan Yang had gotten himself into trouble. She hurried over and said, "Now you've really got problems."

"You two know each other?" Young Master Hugo got up and asked angrily.

"Young Master, I know who he is," someone suddenly piped up, as if remembering something.

"Who?" Young Master Hugo demanded.

"Evan Yang—the one in the husband selection, about to face a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal in the duel," the person said.

Young Master Hugo was shocked. "So it's you!"

"That's right, it's me. No need to be polite," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"You—well, kid, if you've got guts, don't leave. Let's go!" Young Master Hugo stormed off, furious.

"Do you know who he is?" Hannah Nangong asked in shock.

"He's from the Huang family," Evan Yang replied.

"That's right, so why did you go and hit him?" Hannah couldn't understand why Evan was so reckless. Offending the Huang family was like offending half of Ethereal Sanctuary—how could Evan survive here after this?

Evan Yang just smiled, "Relax, it's nothing."

"Nothing? Do you even know what kind of status the Huang family has?" Hannah Nangong pressed.

"Deputy Sanctuary Lord," Evan Yang answered.

"If you know that, then—" Hannah was getting anxious. Evan had offended the Deputy Sanctuary Lord, and even she wouldn't dare treat Young Master Hugo like that.

"Why are you so worked up? Let them come. What do I have to be afraid of? Are they going to kill me right here?" Evan Yang had stirred up trouble in the Human World before, so he wasn't worried.

Hannah Nangong was nearly exasperated to death by Evan Yang, but he just laughed, "Don't stress. Sit down and have a drink."

"Don't get worked up. I told you, I can handle it. Besides, I haven't forgotten how he poisoned you," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Poisoned me? How did you know?" Hannah Nangong was surprised—she hadn't told Evan about this.

Evan Yang smiled, "He drugged you at Fragrant Lily House, didn't he?"

"How did you know?" Hannah Nangong asked, astonished.

"If he really sends people after me, I'll spread the word about what he did," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"It won't help. No one will believe you—they'll only believe the Huang family," Hannah Nangong sighed.

"Really? Is the Huang family that powerful?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

"Of course!" Hannah Nangong said firmly.

"Then I'd like to see how they try to deal with me," Evan Yang said with a smile.

Hannah Nangong wasn't sure what Evan Yang meant, but soon enough, the Huang family arrived. Young Master Hugo brought several Xuan-Immortal experts, and they surrounded the inn.
