Dual Cultivation, Sisters! Brick Moving, Brothers!

Jill Young always did things her own way. Ever since the Subterranean Realm, she never really bothered to hide her special nature. Most transmigrators are all hush-hush about their identity, but she acted like she was a few fries short of a Happy Meal—didn’t seem to care at all. But she’s no real fool; she only tells the real truth—well, a certain amount of it—to people she genuinely trusts. Like Xiao Di and Night Doll—they know a bit about her weirdness. Sure, it’s the abridged version, but every word’s true.

And these folks never betrayed her trust—no backstabbing, no drama, no ‘who’s plotting against who’ nonsense.

Is it her knack for reading people? Or just dumb luck, living life without a care and somehow cruising through? Jill never gave it much thought—she just liked sharing her little secrets. Being upfront with people made her feel good, made even a strange world feel a bit more familiar.

That’s Jill in her normal state. But when she’s ‘sleepwalking,’ she’s even more out there. For reasons no one gets, her mind’s sharper in that mode. She just felt Wu Zhengfeng was trustworthy, so she started telling Wu Jiao-niang a few things.

After she finished explaining—

Wu Zhengfeng asked the first question: “You’re saying you have a twin brother—one of those dragon-phoenix twins—and you two are mentally linked?”

“Yup!”

Wu Zhengfeng asked the second question: “You mean, even though you two are separated by mountains and rivers, you can still sense each other? And you learned the Heartless Severance Technique just to find him?”

“Yup!”

Wu Zhengfeng asked the third question: “So you’re saying, it’s not just your minds that are linked—even the gold and silver stuff you’re holding, or even your internal energy, can be transferred between you two? If he touches something over there, you can pull it out over here?”

"Mhm!"

Wu Zhengfeng asked the last question, "Am I still not awake yet?"

Yang Qi immediately reached out and pinched Wu Zhengfeng's cheek, kneading and scratching all over.

"Ow, ow, ow, that hurts!" Wu Zhengfeng struggled free, rubbed her cheek for a while, then glared at Yang Qi and reached a conclusion: "You—you're either a goddess, or just plain nuts!" Wu Jiaoniang pointed at the fiery tide, her words ringing out: "Look at that—like a goddess!" Then she pointed at Yang Qi's face, huffing, "But look at this—totally nuts! So, which one are you really?"

Yang Qi was neither a goddess nor nuts... Well, maybe a bit of both. Anyway, the two wandered along the bottom of the great crevice, tossing jokes at each other as they went. This banter was Wu Zhengfeng's way of processing all the shocking revelations. Anyone else who heard this stuff would be floored—probably react even more dramatically. Wu Zhengfeng's current performance just proves her ninety-six years haven't been wasted, and her hundred and thirty years of cultivation didn't come for nothing.

What Yang Qi was saying might've been a huge shock to Wu Zhengfeng, but it had to be said. The whole "transmigrator" thing didn't need to be spelled out, but Wu Zhengfeng had to know who she was fighting alongside.

If one day Yang Qi does something earth-shattering, don't freak out.

If one day Yang Qi disappears without a trace, don't take it too hard.

A lot wasn't said outright, but everything that could be said was said.

"You just said your brother practices ice-type internal energy?" Wu Zhengfeng stroked her chin, pondering, "Hmm... Supreme Technique is all about heat, but ice-type internal energy actually balances it out. You two are so in sync, I bet your teamwork is flawless and the risk of going off the rails drops a lot..."
