Nameless Hill

Lily Xu suddenly realized that this woman was flawless from head to toe! The more she looked, the more captivating she became; her beauty was simply breathtaking.

"Who are you?" Lily Xu narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

Grace smiled at her. "Why don't you guess?"

"I'm guessing you're just like Joanna Zuo—a country bumpkin!" Lily Xu sneered.

Smack! The sharp sound of a slap echoed.

Grace slapped her hard across the face.

Red fingerprints instantly appeared on Lily Xu’s delicate cheek.

Her teeth must have loosened, and blood seeped from her mouth.

"You—" Lily Xu clutched her face, eyes wide in disbelief. "How dare you hit me? Who do you think you are? How dare you hit me!"

"Listen up! I am Grace Lawrence, daughter of the Prime Minister of Blue Moon Kingdom! I hit you because I felt like it! If you have the guts, hit me back!"

"You! You..." Lily Xu pointed at her, but couldn't manage to say anything else.

When a pro makes a move, you can tell right away.

That slap Grace gave her seemed ordinary, but Lily Xu couldn't dodge it or fight back at all.

She knew she probably wasn't a match for Grace.

Joanna Zuo felt totally satisfied. She smiled, grabbed Grace's hand, and said, "Grace, she's just a crazy woman. Don't bother with her! Come on, I'll walk you down the mountain."

Grace nodded slightly, shot Lily Xu a look, and left with Joanna.

Lily Xu raised her eyebrows as she watched them walk away, biting her lip so hard she nearly drew blood.

......

After leaving Spirit Alliance Mountain, Grace didn't head straight back to the city.

Instead, she went to another mountain not far from Spirit Alliance Mountain.

It was just a nameless hill.

A small, unremarkable mound, halfway up there was a grove of pine trees.

Grace climbed to the pine grove and stood under a big pine, gazing at the flat grassy clearing ahead.

In her previous life, this was where she buried Ray’s body.

He’d been forced to drink a bowl of poison by Gwen Zhuo.

Grace brought him back to Spirit Alliance for rescue, but in the end, she couldn’t save him.

Back then, she’d already been reported by Zhi Shang.

Xingyun Gu wouldn’t allow her to bury Ray’s remains in the imperial mausoleum.

So, she put Ray into her spatial storage, brought him here, and buried him herself...

Ray was an exceptionally thoughtful child.

Ever since he was born, Ray hardly ever cried.

As he grew older, he stayed quiet and calm, not much of a talker.

Even when he was hungry, he wouldn’t say so.

He’d go find food himself, and always gave it to his mother first.

When he was in pain, he never complained—just bore it quietly on his own.

He was so sensible it made your heart ache.

They depended on each other for more than twenty years. Ray was the light and warmth of her life—he was her everything.

......

Ever since she was reborn, Grace often racked her brains, trying to remember all sorts of things from the past—all the little details.

But she never let herself think about Ray.

People are like that—they always want to run away from the things that hurt too much to bear.

She avoided thinking about Ray because... the pain of losing her son made life unbearable.

But now, standing here, she could almost see herself—crying as she dug the grave with her bare hands.

Tears in her eyes, blood on her hands, mixing with the earth as she buried him...

It felt like it was just yesterday.

That heart-wrenching pain suddenly broke through her defenses, flooding in all at once.

......

Of course, in this life, there was no grave here yet.

Grace knelt on the ground, stroking the grass, her tears falling one by one onto the earth.
