Chapter 607: Chain Summoning

With the Doombringer Staff amplifying his magic, Leon's spells unleashed power far beyond what any ordinary Archmage could imagine. Even the most common Fireball, under his control, rivaled fifth-tier magic—and that was before considering the sheer number being cast.

For a moment, Cyrus Watson was truly stunned. Facing such a formidable Mountain Serpent, even he doubted he could do better than Archmage Leon. Only now did he realize this young mage was far stronger than he'd ever imagined.

But just as Leon's Fireballs erupted, the Mountain Serpent's gaping maw burst forth with a dozen dazzling blue lights—Frost Bombs, sixth-tier frost spells, one of the beast's innate magical talents.

Cyrus Watson's expression immediately changed.

Not just him—even Leon couldn't help but look slightly unsettled.

Frost Bombs, even among sixth-tier spells, were notoriously complex, requiring an eight-second incantation. Even Title Archmages needed at least three seconds to cast it. Yet now, the Mountain Serpent was unleashing them near-instantly—and in batches of a dozen at a time.

Faced with such an unreasonable display of magical prowess, Leon couldn't come up with a better solution. All he could do was rely on the Arcane Wheel and Doombringer Staff, his two magical relics, to trade spell barrages with the Mountain Serpent. The sky filled with explosions, deafening roars and blinding lights, as if the very world of frost and snow was about to be swallowed by magic.

"Why are you two just standing there?" While trading spells with the Mountain Serpent, Leon glanced down at the Frost Dragon and the Alchemical Golem, issuing a command to both.

With a dragon's roar, the Frost Dragon and the Alchemical Golem charged at the Mountain Serpent, claws and fangs bared.

In an instant, a deafening roar echoed as Reina the Frost Dragon shimmered with silver-white light. Her mountain-sized body collided head-on with the Mountain Serpent's massive tail.

With a thunderous crash, Reina sent the Mountain Serpent's tail flying nearly two hundred meters. Before it could even hit the ground, she let out another dragon's roar, her long blue form blurring through the air, and slammed into it again—this time knocking the tail back over six hundred meters.

Witnessing this, Cyrus Watson's eyes widened in disbelief. The power Reina displayed had already surpassed Anthus and Reid Watson, and was closing in on his own as an Eighth-Rank Title Archmage.

But it wasn't over yet. Before Cyrus Watson could recover, the Alchemical Golem swung its mechanical arms, launching hundreds of flaming spears in the blink of an eye. The blazing inferno looked like a disc of fire, saturated with the stench of sulfur, smashing into the Mountain Serpent's skull.

Instantly, it was as if a flood of blood splashed forth, mingling with the roar of flames and the howling wind. The violent surge of magic threatened to engulf the entire Mountain Serpent...

"So strong..." Watching the Alchemical Golem's formidable spellcasting, Cyrus Watson was shaken to his core. This construct was terrifying. It wasn't just Archmage Leon— even the golem could unleash countless flaming spears in an instant, without any incantation. Not even he could manage such a feat.

Are all of Archmage Leon's subordinates monsters?

Cyrus Watson had never imagined that a young Sixth-Rank Archmage could gain the upper hand against the Mountain Serpent with just a Frost Dragon and an Alchemical Golem.

But just as the Eighth-Rank Title Archmage stood there, dumbfounded, the air around him twisted. He looked up sharply to see the Mountain Serpent's body suddenly glowing dark red. Its skin turned deep crimson, covered in flame-like magical runes. Its scales protruded, forming hundreds of razor-sharp frost spikes—each one a potent fifth-tier frost spell. Cyrus Watson knew just how deadly those spikes could be.

A cold sweat broke out on Cyrus Watson's forehead. He understood exactly what this meant.

It meant the Mountain Serpent had gone berserk.

What did that mean, exactly?

Once the Mountain Serpent went berserk, its strength would double—not just its magical power, but even its physical might would skyrocket.

Almost as soon as the thought crossed Cyrus Watson's mind, the Mountain Serpent—once suppressed by the Frost Dragon and Alchemical Golem—erupted with unimaginable destructive force. The void tore open, the earth caved in, and the Frost Dragon was sent flying by the massive tail. Even the Alchemical Golem, unable to withstand the barrage of spells, was recalled by Leon.

It's over...

Really over...

Reid Watson was gripped by fear, unable to muster any confidence against the Mountain Serpent. Just look—the mighty Merlin Family, crushed one by one in mere moments. Even if the Watson Family joined the fray now, what difference could they make?

But why, even now, did the young mage's expression remain so calm?

Cyrus Watson's gaze fell on Leon, his expression puzzled. But then he noticed something strange—the young mage was suddenly holding a black book.

The book radiated an eerie aura. The moment Leon produced it, the flow of magic around them shifted palpably. Cyrus Watson watched as the young mage opened the Death Tome.
