"The three of you have no idea about yourselves, do you? About the talents you possess."
John Chou looked at the three humanoid figures. They had no idea what he was talking about. At that moment, a streak of black lightning crackled in the air. John Chou glanced at his own chest, where a black hole had appeared. Mr. Brown frowned.
"Young Master, this power!"
"Ah, as you see, Mr. Brown, it's an extraordinary force. If not for my unique instinct, I might not be able to suppress it."
As John Chou spoke, he patted his chest, and the black lightning disappeared. His body returned to normal.
"How much does the Immortality Society already know, Young Master? Should I go there myself and let that boy Rong keep watch here?"
John Chou put away his smile and looked at Mr. Brown with a serious expression.
"When did he contact you?"
"All along, Young Master."
John Chou glared at Mr. Brown, then burst out laughing.
"That kid is really impossible to deal with. They must be using the Dual Soul as a test."
"Dual Soul?"
Mr. Brown looked at John Chou in confusion, but quickly seemed to understand.
"If the three souls are separated, each individual Dual Soul will be very pure. And pure things, if tainted even slightly, can reveal certain truths. Is that what you mean, Young Master?"
John Chou nodded and walked to the edge of the sealing array.
"Whether I can get out of here depends on those three."
"John Chou, what should we do now? As for those trying to deceive us, we have no intention of cooperating with them."
The black humanoid spoke, and the other two figures nodded in agreement.
"There's nothing you need to do. When you return, just say it directly. We don't want to consume Dual Souls anymore. Ask Mason Payne properly whose idea this was—devouring the Prime Ancestor to become human, and consuming Dual Souls to gain their traits."
A hint of unease flickered in John Chou's eyes.
