In less than half a breath, the verdant flying sword had already shot to Ian Song's chest, its tip pressing against his body as if about to pierce straight through him.
But just then—
Clang!
A flash of red light struck the body of that verdant flying sword.
"Wuu—"
With a mournful cry, the verdant flying sword was knocked away, tumbling to the ground several meters off, its glow fully extinguished.
And what had struck down the verdant flying sword was nothing but a single scarlet feather.
Seeing her now dull, lifeless sword, Yara Snow's chest heaved violently, and finally she spat out a mouthful of blood, her face turning deathly pale.
The Redfeather Crane had actually damaged her life-bound magic weapon for the sake of a mere errand boy. Just thinking about it made her feel utterly humiliated, and she wished she could tear Second Fool to pieces—yet she dared not, for she was no match for the Redfeather Crane.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a pale green sword-light swept into the canteen, materializing the figure of Elder Shayne Snow.
She glanced suspiciously at the Redfeather Crane, Ian Song, and Yara Snow, then bowed respectfully to the Redfeather Crane: "Greetings, Lord Redfeather Crane." Immediately after, she turned to Yara Snow and said, "Senior Sister, what brings you to the canteen?"
"Do I need to report my whereabouts to you?" Yara Snow, still fuming, snapped back in a not-so-friendly tone.
Suddenly, Shayne Snow noticed the dull, lifeless sword in the corner and exclaimed in surprise, "Hey, Senior Sister, isn't that your life-bound magic weapon, the Green Jade Sword? Did it get damaged?"
"Shut up! Mind your own business!"
With a wave of her hand, the now-lusterless Green Jade Sword flew into Yara Snow's grasp, and she strode out of the canteen.
Seeing Yara Snow's increasingly hostile attitude, and noticing the blood on the floor, her pale cheeks, and the damaged life-bound magic weapon, Shayne Snow realized it was likely that she'd just fought the Redfeather Crane—and lost badly, with her magic weapon destroyed.
Thinking this over, Shayne Snow decided she needed confirmation, so she smiled at Ian Song: "Second Fool, could you tell me what just happened?"
"Of course, Elder Shayne!" Ian Song nodded and briefly recounted the events to her.
After hearing Ian Song's account, Shayne Snow was dumbfounded. She hadn't expected the Redfeather Crane to defend Second Fool so fiercely, nor for its strength to be so overwhelming—defeating a mid-Foundation Establishment elder like Yara Snow with a single feather.
