Subtype Castor Bean Seeds

Rona Muir sat down on a wooden sofa, and soon saw Mary come in with a tray of coffee. "Thank you," she said.

Mary couldn't help but glance at Rona Muir again before reluctantly leaving.

Rona Muir could be said to have everything most women dream of.

Beauty—her looks were definitely above average. Otherwise, why would so many male clients fancy her and want her as their mistress?

Figure—even after having a child, her body was still incredible. A G-cup wasn't just talk.

Talent—a top graduate from a prestigious university.

Status—CEO of Danni Cosmetics, daughter-in-law of the Hirayama Family.

Wealth—Peter Pingshan handed over all his assets to his wife, and Rona Muir herself earned quite a bit too.

So how could a woman like her not be dazzling?

Every gesture was full of charm!

Especially after she had a child, that mature feminine allure she carried was just impossible to ignore.

Even Mary, as a woman herself, couldn't help but be drawn to Rona Muir—let alone anyone else.

"Why are you here?" Rona Muir couldn't help but ask. "Aren't you taking care of everything at home?"

"Everything about the Kerr Family has nothing to do with me anymore." Sean Kerr picked up his coffee and took a sip. "I've already told the family that everything from the Kerrs should go to that child. No matter what, I let him down, so the whole Kerr Family is his compensation."

"Besides, it's not so bad here." Sean Kerr laughed at himself. "At least I live freely, without my mother's constant nagging. Fewer people, but it's peaceful. And even though I'm not inheriting the Kerr Family, I'm not short on money. For the rest of my life, I just want to live for myself."

Rona Muir nodded. "That's pretty good too. Does Charles Yin come to see you often?"

"Yeah." Sean Kerr nodded. "He drops by when he has time, but lately he's been really busy. The whole Yin family business is on his shoulders now, so he can't just go out and about like he used to. I really miss the old days! Back then it was me, Charles, Joe Qi, and..."

Sean Kerr stopped himself just in time.

He almost mentioned Sylvia Ran.

Forget it, forget it. It's all in the past now.

The two of them chatted about old times. Rona Muir could tell that Sean Kerr really missed those days.

But Rona Muir wasn't about to reminisce about her past with Sean Kerr, so she changed the subject: "I'm here this time to look for this."

Rona Muir placed a small pouch on the table. "I heard your estate grows first-generation Subtype Castor Bean?"

"Yeah, I do grow some." Sean Kerr frowned. "But why are you asking about it? It's great for dye, sure, but the color doesn't hold well—only useful for luxury goods, not regular products. Ordinary goods need to be durable, and this Subtype Castor Bean just isn't up to par. I only grow it for dyeing my own brand. You're not planning to move into clothing and leather goods, are you?"

"No, I'm interested in the seeds." Rona Muir smiled. "If you don't need them, why not sell them to me? I can give you a great price—consider it for old times' sake."

"What do you want the seeds for?" Sean Kerr asked curiously.

"Jiro Hirayama accidentally discovered that the seeds have an ingredient suitable for cosmetics." Rona Muir didn't hide it from Sean Kerr. He might be a mama's boy, but in other ways, he's impeccable.

Sean Kerr raised his eyebrows instantly. "You came with Jiro Hirayama?"

"No, he's busy with experiments." Rona Muir didn't admit it—Jiro Hirayama was still at the base.

Although, the base isn't that far from here.

But Rona Muir still didn't tell Sean Kerr that the base belonged to Captain Hans—she couldn't betray Hans.

Sean Kerr finally managed a wry smile. "Nana... Seeing you happy really makes me glad. Back then..."

"The past is over, let's not talk about it." Rona Muir smiled and set down her coffee cup. "I'm really here for the Subtype Castor Bean seeds, Sean. How about we work together? I can take all your by-products. Maybe this estate doesn't mean much to you, but for me, it's a new business direction."

"Buy or not, what if I just give them all to you?" Sean Kerr chuckled.

Rona Muir disagreed. "Feelings are feelings, business is business. If you find anyone else with first-generation Subtype Castor Bean, save all the seeds for me and I'll give you a cut."

"So you're really set on this?" Sean Kerr nodded right away. "Alright, I'll help however I can."

Rona Muir checked the time and got ready to leave.

Sean Kerr spoke up first. "Why not stay for a meal? Mary's cooking might not be fancy, but the food here is decent. You should at least give it a try."

Seeing the anticipation in Sean Kerr's eyes, Rona Muir hesitated.

"It's just a meal. I mean nothing else." Sean Kerr saw Rona Muir's hesitation, and a trace of hurt flashed in his eyes. "Are we really at the point where we can't even share a meal together anymore?"

Rona Muir replied immediately, "That's not what I meant. Alright, I'll stay tonight and trouble you."

Sean Kerr was thrilled and quickly had Mary start preparing dinner.

At night, the outside of the estate was quiet, with only the sound of wind rustling through the crops.

In the darkness far away, only this big house shone with lights—it felt a bit lonely.

Seeing Rona Muir admiring the scenery, Sean Kerr came over with a bottle of wine and smiled. "It's vast and sparsely populated here. The whole town has over a million acres of farmland, but only a few thousand people, so it feels a bit deserted. Want a drink?"

"Sure." Rona Muir smiled and nodded. "But it is peaceful."

"How could it not be peaceful?" Sean Kerr said. "It takes more than half an hour by car just to buy groceries at the town's supermarket. But even though there aren't many people, everything is well-stocked. Prices in this country are low, so living comfortably is easy—as long as you don't set your standards too high."

"I never expected a rich young master to be content with such a simple life," Rona Muir said. "I thought you'd go to a big city and start your own business."

Sean Kerr shrugged. "My companies all have professional managers. I just visit once a month, and the rest of the time I vacation here. After working so many years, it's time to rest. Here, try some dinner—these are ingredients I just bought from the supermarket."

"Alright." Rona Muir didn't stand on ceremony with Sean Kerr and picked up her knife and fork to start eating.

They spoke Mandarin the whole time, so Mary couldn't understand and could only watch from afar.

"Mary's really not bad," Rona Muir said after a bite. "Where'd you find the chef?"

"She's a local from the nearby town," Sean Kerr replied with a smile. "I've got over a dozen workers here—Mary handles logistics and sometimes looks after me."

"So who takes care of you most of the time?" Rona Muir asked.

"I do it myself," Sean Kerr answered calmly. "Honestly, after moving here and doing things myself, I found it pretty fun. I remember back in college you used to tease me, said I was all thumbs and knew nothing about food. Well, now I'm pretty handy and I know my grains."

Rona Muir's fingers trembled slightly, and she quickly covered it up by sipping her soup.

Why bother bringing up the past?

After dinner, Rona Muir got ready to leave.

Sean Kerr brought over a bottle and handed it to Rona Muir. "I cured this bacon myself—take it home and try it."

"Alright." Rona Muir smiled and took it. "I'll head back now."

"Drive safe," Sean Kerr said. "Call me if you need anything. This is my number here."

Sean Kerr handed her a business card, and Rona Muir took it. "Got it."

Watching Rona Muir get in the car and drive away, Sean Kerr stood there for a long time, lost in thought.

Mary came over in her apron and said, "Boss, she's a truly beautiful woman!"

"Yeah, she was the school beauty when she was young, and she's still beautiful now," Sean Kerr replied with a smile.

"Boss, you really like her," Mary said, making her own judgment. "Why don't you pursue her?"

Sean Kerr gave a bitter smile.

It wasn't that he hadn't tried, but that he'd missed his chance.

Some things, once missed, are truly gone forever.

Mary said disapprovingly, "If you can't let her go, why not try again? What if she's not happy now?"

Sean Kerr was a little swayed. "Really?"

"Trust me!" Mary said, giving her boss a firm pat on the shoulder. Though she was short and sturdy, she was strong, but Sean Kerr endured it.

After all, it was hard to find someone as capable as Mary.

Rona Muir took the bacon Sean Kerr gave her and returned to her hotel.

She called Jiro Hirayama, and sure enough, he was still working on his experiments.

"Nana?" Jiro looked at the visibly troubled Rona Muir on the video call. "Didn't find the seeds? It's alright, we can always bring some back and plant them ourselves."

Rona Muir looked at her partner Jiro Hirayama, who was all about experiments and had no sense of romance, and couldn't help but sigh. "I'm fine. I've already found the seeds, and I'm negotiating to buy them. Jiro, do you want to come over and join me?"

"I'm still testing the sap from the carnivorous tree, can't leave." Jiro replied bluntly. "If you need a bodyguard or assistant, I'll send a few people over. I'm busy."

Rona Muir said in a huff, "Forget it, I don't need help. I can manage! I'm tired, I'm going to bed. Bye!"

With that, she hung up the phone.
