Return from the Repair

Evan Yang smiled. "Senior, you're overestimating me."

"I'm not overestimating you. I'm just stating the facts," Elder Whiteshade said with a smile.

Evan Yang replied awkwardly, "You're making me feel awkward."

"Alright, enough about you. We're about to set off. Cyrus, it's up to you now," Elder Whiteshade said. He then turned and left, taking the group and some materials, and had Evan Yang open the tunnel entrance.

Evan Yang followed the usual method to open the passage. The others entered one by one, then Evan sealed the entrance.

"Senior, what do we do now?" After sealing the entrance, Evan Yang asked curiously.

"Let's wait on the side," Cyrus Xie said.

Evan Yang nodded and followed Cyrus Xie to wait nearby. Inside, Elder Whiteshade and the others looked over the shattered formation and said, "We have to hurry. The faster, the better."

"Yes," the others responded.

The group worked together to repair the formation. Time passed bit by bit, and the array was nearly fixed. Suddenly, the vortex became abnormally fierce. Some of the weaker members couldn't withstand it and immediately fell unconscious.

Elder Whiteshade shouted, "Quick, protect these people!"

The unconscious members were guarded at the back. The formation was nearly ninety percent repaired, so Elder Whiteshade asked Evan Yang to open the entrance again.

While waiting outside, Evan Yang suddenly received a message from Elder Whiteshade and rushed to open the entrance. As soon as he did, he could sense the aura inside had changed dramatically.

Elder Whiteshade quickly led everyone out and told Evan Yang, "Hurry, seal it!"

Evan Yang didn't pause for a second, frantically sealing the entrance. This time it was much harder than before; he kept feeling as if something inside was about to crash through.

The people nearby frowned, deeply worried the entrance might break—if that happened, they'd be in trouble. But Evan Yang finally managed to finish, drenched in sweat. "I really didn't expect that," he said.

"That was close," Elder Whiteshade muttered. Cyrus Xie, seeing the unconscious members and recalling the recent danger, asked curiously, "What exactly happened?"

"We were repairing the formation, and it was almost done. Suddenly, the vortex became terrifying. The weaker ones lost consciousness on the spot," Elder Whiteshade sighed.

Cyrus Xie muttered, "I checked—looks like they're in a deep coma. It might be hard for them to wake up."

"There's nothing we can do. Everyone did it for the safety of the Chaos World," Elder Whiteshade sighed.

"How long can the formation hold now?" Cyrus Xie asked curiously. Elder Whiteshade thought for a moment and replied, "It should be fine for at least several thousand years. After all, we've restored ninety percent."

Cyrus Xie muttered, "Then let's hold out for a few thousand years."

Evan Yang knew the matter was temporarily settled. As for the unconscious members, there was nothing he could do—he could only leave their fate to fortune.

Elder Whiteshade understood this was inevitable, but things had turned out better than expected. He said, "Everyone, relax. Go back to your duties. At least for these years, this place is safe."

Cyrus Xie nodded. "Alright, let's head back for now."

Elder Whiteshade nodded, then said to Evan Yang, "If there are any problems in the future, I hope you'll help us."

"Don't worry. If I know, I'll definitely come," Evan Yang said.

Elder Whiteshade was naturally pleased to hear this. He saw Evan Yang and Cyrus Xie off. On the way back, Cyrus Xie asked, "Is there anything you want to say?"

"Why did the vortex suddenly get stronger?" Evan Yang asked curiously.

"I don't know. It was beyond anything we imagined. If we'd known, we wouldn't have let them take such a risk," Cyrus Xie sighed.

"Can this formation really last for thousands of years?" Evan Yang felt it was a bit mysterious. Cyrus Xie smiled, "Of course. If we've repaired ninety percent, it'll be fine for at least several thousand years."

"That's good," Evan Yang said. Cyrus Xie smiled, "Let's go, let's head back."

The two entered the formation, and after coming out again, they were already inside the Ghost Formation Sect. Evan Yang said to Cyrus Xie, "I should head back now."

"Don't rush, let me show you around the Ghost Formation Sect first. We've done extensive research on Grandmaster Adrian Zuo's Heaven's Eye Sight. Maybe some ancient formation books will be useful to you—you can take a look," Cyrus Xie said to Evan Yang.

Evan Yang was delighted to hear this. "Thank you, Senior," he said.

"No need, we're all doing this for the Chaos World. If you grow stronger, our ability to protect increases as well," Cyrus Xie said with a smile.

Evan Yang smiled and followed Cyrus Xie to the Ghost Formation Sect's library pavilion. Inside, Evan saw many formation books. Cyrus Xie said, "Take your time reading here, no one will disturb you."

"Thanks," Evan Yang said with a smile. After Cyrus Xie left, Evan began copying down the formation books one by one. Those he could understand, he immediately memorized; the more complex ones, he recorded for later study when he had time.

Soon, more than ten days passed. Heaven Leaf, knowing Evan Yang was in the library pavilion, found Cyrus Xie and asked, "Master, you let him in?"

"Yes, what's the matter?" Cyrus Xie replied.

"Only members of our sect can enter here. Letting him in seems inappropriate," Heaven Leaf felt uneasy.

"There's nothing inappropriate. He helped us greatly this time, and we'll need him again in the future. If he can study, let him study as much as he likes," Cyrus Xie said with a smile.

Heaven Leaf felt awkward. "Master, is he really that important?"

"Yes, extremely important. Since Grandmaster Adrian Zuo and Grandmaster Marcus Po disappeared, he has become even more important," Cyrus Xie sighed.

"It's a pity we aren't talented enough," Heaven Leaf sighed.

"It's not your fault. You've achieved a lot already, but compared to his Dao of Formations, you're still a bit behind," Cyrus Xie said with a smile.

Heaven Leaf awkwardly replied, "Master is right."

"Alright, the reason I called you here is to tell you not to look for that item for now. We don't need it at the moment. When we do, we'll talk again," Cyrus Xie said, putting away his smile.

Heaven Leaf asked suspiciously, "Really?"

"I'm serious, we don't need it for now. I was originally looking for it because of the issue with the rift entrance, but since the formation is mostly restored, it's not needed. When we do need it, we'll talk. Meanwhile, prepare the teleportation array and send Evan Yang back to his original place," Cyrus Xie said.

Heaven Leaf nodded, "Understood."

A few days later, Evan Yang came out. Cyrus Xie said to him, "Alright, you can head back now."

"Thank you, Senior," Evan Yang said with a smile.

Cyrus Xie had a few people escort Evan Yang back. After Evan left the formation and returned to his original realm, he smiled and said, "Thank you for your hospitality."

"I hope we have the chance to meet again," Heaven Leaf said. Evan Yang nodded, "Yes, we'll have the chance."

After saying goodbye to Heaven Leaf and his group, Evan Yang headed to the main star.

"Senior brother, do you think we're failures?" someone asked gloomily.

"How so?" Heaven Leaf asked curiously.

"Think about it. We originally came to teach him a lesson. In the end, not only did we fail, we had to invite him over, treat him as an honored guest—it's humiliating," the person said gloomily.

"There's nothing we can do. The world needs him, so of course he's important. If we went after him, others would come after us," Heaven Leaf said with a smile.

The others could only accept this fact. Evan Yang had returned to the main planet. Ling Shuang, who was bored there, saw Evan Yang return safely and exclaimed, "How did it go? Did you gain anything after being away so long?"

"Not much," Evan Yang replied casually.

Ling Shuang didn't believe him. "Impossible, don't try to fool me," she said.

Evan Yang smiled, "I'm not fooling you. I'm telling the truth."

"Forget it, I'm not going to argue with you. Master said that if you came back, you should go see her," Ling Shuang sighed.

"Thank you, Senior Sister," Evan Yang said with a smile, then went to find the elderly woman.

When the elderly woman saw Evan Yang, she asked, "How did it go?"

"It's temporarily ninety percent repaired—at least it'll be fine for several thousand years," Evan Yang replied. The elderly woman said, "Alright, I understand. Come, I'll take you somewhere."

Ling Shuang asked, "What about me?"

"You can come too. It seems you haven't learned it either," the elderly woman said with a smile. Ling Shuang replied awkwardly, "Master said you have to work hard to learn it, so of course I haven't learned it yet."

"That means you didn't work hard enough," the elderly woman said with a smile. Seeing her smile, Ling Shuang said nervously, "Master, please don't smile. When you smile, I get scared."

"Alright, let's go," the elderly woman said, putting away her smile. She then led them to a secret cave. Inside, there were many paintings, each depicting how to control a realm. But mastering them wasn't something that could be done overnight. Evan Yang was immediately drawn in, especially since he had deep research on realms.

Ling Shuang looked at the paintings in confusion and asked, "Master, what are these? I can't understand them."

"If you can't understand them, it means you're not smart enough. Seriously, you've followed me for so long and still haven't figured it out. Look at him," the elderly woman said with a smile.

Ling Shuang glanced at Evan Yang and found he hadn't taken his eyes off the paintings, as if nothing happening around him mattered.

"See? That's what focus looks like. If he keeps this up, he'll definitely learn it. You, on the other hand, might not learn it in thousands of years," the elderly woman sighed.

Ling Shuang replied awkwardly, "Master, how can you insult your disciple like that?"

"Then I won't disturb you two. I'll head out," the elderly woman said with a bitter smile, then left. Ling Shuang looked at Evan Yang suspiciously, realizing he was in deep comprehension and shouldn't be disturbed, so she wandered around by herself.

As for Evan Yang, after watching for a while, he opened his palm. A strange, faintly red aura began to appear. Ling Shuang was shocked, "No way, did you learn it so quickly?"

Evan Yang didn't know what it was, but he had comprehended it from the paintings. Ling Shuang, however, knew exactly what it was.
