First Battle of the Creation Realm

12/19/2025

"Are you that Convergence Realm cultivator?" Damon Tai looked at Joe Di in confusion. Yes, Joe Di was indeed the Convergence Realm cultivator. But now, Joe Di's cultivation was neither at the Convergence Realm nor the Creation Realm. He seemed as though...

Damon Tai immediately understood—if Joe Di hadn't spoken, he wouldn't even have noticed Joe Di's presence.

Even a fool could tell that Joe Di had reached a new level. If Joe Di truly was at the Convergence Realm before, then now he must have surpassed it and become a genuine Creation Realm powerhouse. Moreover, Joe Di's Creation Realm had reached the stage where, wherever he went, he would naturally merge with the world around him.

Damon Tai sighed inwardly. Having fought Joe Di once before, he understood better than anyone here just how much Joe Di's strength had multiplied.

Back then, Joe Di could use the Deathtrap Array and the time-space long arrow to force him away. Now, Damon Tai was certain that Joe Di had attained the Creation Realm. If it came to a one-on-one fight, especially in a place with such a powerful Deathtrap Array, he doubted whether he could still be Joe Di's match.

Besides, with so many people here today and Joe Di's strength surging, Damon Tai's chance to obtain the Lawless Cradle became even slimmer.

That wasn't all—the real question was whether the Lawless Cradle was even still here. Damon Tai absolutely didn't believe that Joe Di's sudden surge in power was unrelated to the Lawless Cradle. If Joe Di had already used it and it no longer existed, then what was the point of risking his life here?

As Damon Tai spoke, the others fanned out in a semicircle, surrounding Joe Di. Yet no one made a move—nobody wanted to be the first to attack Joe Di. Of course, none of them would let Joe Di simply walk away either.

"May I ask how to address you, fellow Daoist?" Damon Tai even performed the Immortal Salute, his tone lacking its usual aggression as he contemplated leaving. Damon Tai was, after all, a well-known figure within the Genesis Cradle; he couldn't just walk away without reason. Besides, trapped within Joe Di's Deathtrap Array, he couldn't leave unless Joe Di opened it.

Joe Di had originally planned to start killing immediately, but there was no reason to attack someone who greeted him politely. Although Damon Tai had once seized the Lawless Cradle from the Dao Lord of Karma, Joe Di had now used it to attain the Creation Realm. Since Damon Tai was now respectfully inquiring with an Immortal Salute, Joe Di couldn't just strike him down.

"Joe Di," he replied calmly. These people probably thought he hadn't used the Lawless Cradle yet, so they had all come to try their luck.

The others looked at Damon Tai in puzzlement upon hearing him speak so politely to Joe Di. By all rights, Damon Tai should hate Joe Di the most and be the first to attack him.

Some had already noticed that Damon Tai was reluctant to fight Joe Di. But what good did that do? If this weren't inside the Deathtrap Array, no one would waste time here with Joe Di and Damon Tai—they'd have rushed in to search for the Lawless Cradle. Killing Joe Di was a minor matter; the Lawless Cradle was the real prize.

Though the others didn't know how much Joe Di's strength had changed, the aura around him and the Deathtrap Array made it clear—Joe Di was not someone to be trifled with.

"Daoist Joe, I have no grievance with you. In the vast cosmos, opportunity favors the first to arrive. Why did you break my Guardian Array and attack me to seize the Lawless Cradle?" Damon Tai still asked politely, fists cupped, knowing Joe Di would surely answer.

Joe Di didn't even bother to produce the image evidence given by the Karmic Sage. He replied coolly, "My friend, the Karmic Sage, found this place first. Back then, you forcibly drove him away and took it for yourself. So why shouldn't I take it back now?"

Damon Tai realized that Joe Di truly had a reason for being here. With an excuse in hand, Damon Tai apologized, "I truly handled this matter poorly. I, Damon Tai, am willing to withdraw. Please, Daoist Joe, open the Deathtrap Array."

Damon Tai had once forcibly broken through this Deathtrap Array, and he believed he could do so again. But he didn't want to deepen his enmity with a powerhouse like Joe Di, nor become a pawn for the others—so he held back and didn't make a move.

Joe Di was slightly surprised. In fact, he was curious to see whether Damon Tai could still forcibly break through his Deathtrap Array. Back then, when Joe Di was only at the Convergence Realm, the foundation of his array wasn't stable enough, allowing Damon Tai to tear it apart using Spatial Law.

Now, Joe Di was completely confident that as long as he didn't make a move, no one else could tear apart his Deathtrap Array. Yet Damon Tai chose not to act, which left Joe Di somewhat helpless.

"A mere Convergence Realm ant dares to trap Damon Tai with a Deathtrap Array, and even dares to trap all of us here? You deserve to die!" Jack Quill roared, immediately unleashing his artifact toward Joe Di.

Damon Tai was furious; everyone understood Jack Quill's intent. He'd noticed Damon Tai wanted to withdraw from this mess—clearly, Damon Tai feared Joe Di. Jack Quill refused to let Damon Tai back out, so he struck first. Otherwise, a hypocrite like Jack Quill would never get angry, let alone attack Joe Di proactively.

Damon Tai felt annoyed at being dragged in by Jack Quill, but Soulfall Sovereign, John Doe, and Sterling Night all attacked without hesitation. Even Quinn Young, who had arrived with Damon Tai, immediately pulled out an Array Banner to help from the sidelines.

Damon Tai hurriedly grabbed Quinn Young. "Brother Quinn, don't act. Trust me, I'm the only one here who's fought Joe Di before—I know how much he's changed, and with this grand array, attacking will only bring disaster."

Quinn Young sighed and put away his Array Banner. What he lamented wasn't being stopped by Damon Tai, but rather Damon Tai's loss of resolve, which made him unwilling to fight. Otherwise, with all six of them attacking together, what Deathtrap Array in the vast universe could stop them? For a cultivator, losing confidence was truly terrifying. As for the Lawless Cradle, that was out of reach now. After leaving, Quinn Young resolved to help his best friend Damon Tai restore his Dao heart—otherwise, Damon Tai would be finished.

As for Joe Di being able to trap both him and Damon Tai, Quinn Young had never considered it possible.

With a thought, Joe Di shifted his Array Banners. He'd intended to eliminate all six, but hadn't expected Damon Tai and Quinn Young to withdraw.

Since they'd withdrawn, Joe Di no longer intended to pursue them to the end, so he set his Array Banners to target the remaining four.

Almost at the same moment Joe Di's Array Banners locked onto the remaining four, an extremely subtle Way Resonance infiltrated his Grand Way.

The subtle aura infiltrating his Way Resonance was clearly meant to corrode his Dao Foundation, even strip away his sanity—this was the highest level of Law of Venom. Joe Di frowned. He'd spent time with Ci and witnessed Ci's poison techniques, but compared to the poison before him, Ci's skills were a drop in the ocean.

If Joe Di were still at the Convergence Realm, with an incomplete Grand Way, facing this poison, he'd have no choice but to flee wounded. Purging such poison afterward would take countless years.

But now, Joe Di didn't even pause—he simply altered the poison's rules as they tried to invade his Dao Foundation. At the same time, the Azure Veil Blade swept forth, unleashing billions of blade lights, coalescing into an endless torrent that crashed down.

John Doe, who'd appeared harmless, suddenly changed expression. Countless had died to his poison, but he'd never seen anyone like Joe Di—someone who didn't even bother to dispel the poison, but simply crushed his Law of Venom.

The powerful killing intent of the Deathtrap Array swept through, compressing the surrounding space. Clearly, even as the four attacked Joe Di, they couldn't weaken the array's suppression.

John Doe had no intention of staying to die. His figure suddenly dissolved, merging into the green vine around his neck. In the next instant, the vine vanished into the void, disappearing from sight.

Joe Di frowned slightly. How had this poison expert escaped? Was there still a flaw in his arraycraft?

Soon, Joe Di had no time to worry about John Doe—he was astonished to find that the young cultivator in white had unleashed the Void Shears, causing the rules of space and time to ripple.

With a sharp snap, the Void Shears sliced down at incredible speed, instantly weakening the binding power of Joe Di's Deathtrap Array. That wasn't all—his 'Three Ages Blade' technique, with waves stretching millions of feet, suddenly collapsed.

Had the rules of space and time truly been severed? Joe Di was shaken—this vast universe really did have every kind of treasure imaginable.

Boom! Just then, the white gourd in Damon Tai's hand summoned a torrent of surging water, crashing against the waves of Joe Di's blade force.

Joe Di's deathtrap array trembled violently, and in that instant, Damon Tai, Sterling Night, and Soulfall Sovereign broke free from the array's binding Dao rhythm.

Soulfall Sovereign had already summoned the Soulfall Lock. Dao rhythms swirled around as the lock howled through the air—"One lock to capture the soul..."

The three joined forces with flawless coordination, their combined assault bearing down on Joe Di with overwhelming force.

Instead, Joe Di let out a long roar. Though he seemed at a disadvantage, he didn't reinforce his deathtrap array—instead, he dissolved it altogether, unleashing the sixth and seventh blades of Time's Third Loom in rapid succession.

He refused to believe that without relying on the deathtrap array, he couldn't defeat three Creation Realm cultivators. As for their specific levels within the Creation Realm, Joe Di didn't bother to consider it. In his eyes, no matter the tier, anyone in the Creation Realm was just a fellow Third Step cultivator.

Since this was his first battle after attaining the Creation Realm, he would face it head-on.
