Old Master Zhu wore a look of reminiscence, his face full of wistfulness.
"Disciples of the Profound Clarity Sect appeared in those war-torn years. When they descended from the mountain, they chose quite a few people."
"It's said that those chosen were taken into Profound Clarity Sect, guided, and began their cultivation."
At this point, Old Master Zhu’s expression turned a bit strange. He paused, then continued, “One of those chosen was an old acquaintance of mine.”
"It was from her that I learned Profound Clarity Sect only appears in the mortal world once every sixty years. Occasionally, a few people manage to escape from the Sect, and every one of them is a true expert."
"For example, Master Baiyun and Master Weiyao from the Jinnan region—they both escaped from Profound Clarity Sect."
At this, Old Master Zhu looked down at the crowd below. "The last time Profound Clarity Sect appeared was decades ago. I expect it will return within the next few years. When that time comes, I hope someone from our Zhu family can join them."
"Legend has it that the Sect is a true land of immortal cultivation."
As he finished speaking, he glanced down; everyone, including Yvonne Zhu, held their breath.
Most of the younger generation looked visibly excited.
Cultivation—now that's something out of legend.
If anyone else claimed there were real immortals in this world, people would mostly scoff. But when Old Master Zhu says it, it hits different.
Yvonne Zhu, in particular, looked stunned. For a moment, scenes from the showdown between Master Lin and Elder Mu of Medicine King Valley at the Ding family estate flashed through her mind.
Night fell deeper and deeper.
Evan Lin sat cross-legged, his whole body shrouded in drifting mist, with faint red light occasionally flickering across his skin.
"I thought losing all that blood would mess up the Grand Dao Foundation Art, but with its support, my recovery is way faster than I expected."
"On the Left-Hand Dragon, those crimson Fire-Spirit Mortal Body patterns—every time I activate them, they flood my body with spiritual qi. But each activation also weakens the lines a little, and it takes time for them to recover."
Evan slowly exhaled a breath of turbid air, his face thoughtful.
Every time he triggered the Fire-Spirit Mortal Body, Evan felt like his whole body was submerged in a sea of fire—even his appearance would subtly change.
As for Molly Su, the reason she’s been beautiful and had a standout figure all her life—besides genetics, her Fire-Spirit Mortal Body played a huge role.
"Among the Five-Element Spirit Bodies, the Fire-Spirit Body is all about offense—once it takes hold, your whole presence becomes sharp and aggressive."
"The Wood-Spirit Body governs vitality. All things have spirit, but plants and trees are especially vibrant. Anyone with a Wood-Spirit Body overflows with life force and heroic energy. Plus, since plants can absorb the essence of heaven and earth, Wood-Spirit Bodies can cultivate way faster than the others."
"The Water-Spirit Body specializes in defense. When someone has it, their aura feels gentle and soothing."
"The Metal-Spirit Body leans cold and aloof. All the weapons of the heavens are forged from divine metals—warriors are kings, and this body is all about killing intent and razor-sharp edge."
"The Earth-Spirit Body is also good at defense, but it’s all about solidity and weight. Compared to the Water-Spirit Body, it’s broader and heavier—if you have it, you feel as solid as a mountain."
Evan had once obtained a Water Spirit, giving him some minor water-control skills, but compared to a true Water-Spirit Body, he was still far off.
"I wonder if, in this world, I’ll ever encounter another spirit body."
"Supposedly, each person can only have one spirit body. Dual-spirit bodies are incredibly rare, and if someone has both Fire and Water, they almost always die from internal conflict."
"But with this dragon, maybe I could give it a try."
Evan shook his head slightly and started another round of the Grand Dao Foundation Art. Outside the window, dawn was breaking.
Evan Lin got out of bed, stretched, and opened the door—only to find Yvonne Zhu already waiting for him outside.
Yvonne greeted Evan with a sweet smile. "Did you sleep well last night?"
"It was fine," Evan nodded.
"Come on, let me take you out for breakfast first."
Yvonne glanced at Evan’s wrist—his wound was completely gone. She couldn’t help but feel a bit of admiration.
"You can treat this place like your own home. No need to worry about anything—stay as long as you like."
As they walked through the Zhu Estate, Yvonne pointed out the way and chatted with Evan.
The Zhu Estate was vast. It wasn’t as huge as the Zheng family’s mountain, but the luxury cars everywhere made it clear just how powerful the Zhu family was.
"Hey, Yvonne, you’re up early. Where are you heading?"
Not far away, two men walked over.
Both men wore custom-tailored outfits by master craftsmen—their air of wealth was unmistakable. Even before they reached Evan and Yvonne, they were already calling out loudly.
Clearly, they’d been waiting here for quite some time—this encounter was no accident.
Seeing them approach, Yvonne’s expression instantly turned cold. "Where I go is none of your business. Do I need to report to you now?"
"Come on, don’t be like that. We’re your cousins—big brothers caring about their little sister, that’s normal, right?" Victor Zhu, the taller one at 1.8 meters, grinned.
His name was Victor Zhu, Yvonne’s eldest cousin and son of Rowan Zhu.
"Our third uncle died young, so us older cousins have a duty to look after you. Yvonne, you don’t need to treat us like enemies—every time we meet, you act like you want to beat us up." The other, slightly shorter and more androgynous, was Henry Zhu, her second cousin.
"And Master Gu isn’t around today—which honestly surprises me. He’s usually glued to you, so did the sun rise in the west or something?"
Henry Zhu laughed, feigning surprise, then turned his gaze to Evan Lin beside Yvonne, eyes narrowing. "Or maybe you’re just lovestruck and this kid’s got you under his spell? Did you ditch Master Gu just to sneak out for a morning rendezvous?"
After he finished, Victor Zhu reached over and patted Henry’s arm, shaking his head with a crooked smile. "Second Brother, don’t say it like that. It’s way too early to call this a rendezvous."
"I bet she spent the night in the same room as this kid!"
