The Unexpected Guest

"Who do you think you're going to kill? That's some big talk!"

The Bentley's door swung open, and someone inside let out a cold snort. The sound made Charles Chen and Lucy Lu freeze, while Daniel Ruan whipped his head around, eyes locked fiercely on the car door.

"Who is it?"

"That voice sounds unfamiliar."

"That license plate isn't from Capitalview, is it?"

The business tycoons behind Daniel Ruan all frowned in unison.

Chief Gary Chen watched with a smile, glancing over at the Bentley.

The first to step out was a kid dressed head-to-toe in designer brands. He strode over in a few quick steps, dragging along a cute, wide-eyed girl, and rushed up to Evan Lin, shouting excitedly, "Holy crap, Brother Lin! I finally get to see you—I missed you like crazy!"

Keaton Wang saw Evan Lin and laughed, stomping his feet in excitement. "You have no idea, I've been dying to come hang out with you! But damn, school is nonstop exams—it's frying my brain!"

"It took me forever to convince my old man to bring me here this time!"

Keaton Wang glanced around, his eyes full of disdain as he fixed his gaze on Daniel Ruan standing nearby. "You’re the one who was just yelling at my Brother Lin, right? Are you out of your damn mind? You tired of living or just looking for trouble?"

Believe it or not, I’ll ride your head and take a dump! Damn it, you should feel honored that Brother Lin beat up your son—there are tons of people dying for a chance to get smacked by him, but they can’t even dream of it! You get that?

Keaton Wang was absolutely outrageous, strutting around in his custom Italian suit—everyone could tell he wasn’t just some random rich kid.

Megan Liu, whose hand Keaton Wang was dragging, stomped hard on his foot and glared at him. "You swore again! If you say one more dirty word, I’m done talking to you!"

"Alright, alright, I’ll stop, I’ll stop!" Keaton Wang quickly put on a big smile and apologized to Megan Liu.

Lynn Chen stood off to the side, a bit stunned. After all this chaos, she still hadn’t figured out what was going on—and now she noticed that the cute girl, Megan Liu, was looking at her with a faintly hostile glare.

That hint of hostility left Lynn Chen completely baffled.

Daniel Ruan, suddenly cursed out by the much younger Keaton Wang, was boiling with anger inside.

But at that moment, another person stepped out of the Bentley.

He just stood there, doing nothing, yet every single person present felt their heart skip a beat.

Especially Daniel Ruan—when he saw who stepped out of the car, his eyes went wide, like he couldn't believe it.

Charles Chen lit up, excitement all over his face, and was the first to shout, "Chairman Wang!"

Wayne Wang nodded slightly, his eyes scanning the crowd like a predator sizing up its prey, his presence radiating true authority. "I think I just heard someone say my Wansheng Real Estate can't survive in the Capitalview business circle?"

Wansheng Real Estate—this old powerhouse covers over seventy percent of the entire real estate market in Seacrest Province. It's an absolute titan.

Daniel Ruan might be a big shot in Capitalview, and his company does well, but going up against Wansheng Real Estate—the second biggest player in Seacrest Province—he's way out of his league. It's one thing to tangle with Charles Chen, a lone 'dragon crossing the river,' but with Wayne Wang, the 'dragon ancestor' of Wansheng, that's just a mantis trying to stop a car—total overconfidence!

After all, Capitalview is just one city in the southern part of the province. Wayne Wang's Wansheng Real Estate plays on a whole provincial level!

"That's Wayne Wang!"

"Why would he come to Capitalview in person?!"

The business bigwigs behind Daniel Ruan all jumped in shock.

Before Daniel Ruan could say a word, Wayne Wang strode forward a few steps, and right in front of everyone, walked straight up to the young man who'd just thrown punches!

Everyone watched as Wayne Wang—the chairman of Wansheng Real Estate, second only to the Xia family in all of Seacrest—walked up to Evan Lin with a warm smile, bowed slightly, hands behind his back, and said, "We meet again. You remember me, right?"

Stunned!

Everyone present was floored by Wayne Wang's attitude.

What had that kid ever done to deserve Wayne Wang personally consulting him—and with that hint of respect in his voice, no less?

"A little."

Evan Lin replied blandly, not showing a hint of respect.

Charles Chen felt a jolt of worry, afraid Evan Lin's attitude would tick Wayne Wang off.

But Wayne Wang just burst out laughing, looking genuinely pleased. "A little's enough! If you remembered me even more, that'd be even better."

That one simple line from Wayne Wang sent shockwaves through the crowd.

Keaton Wang? He wasn't surprised at all.

Lynn Chen's expression grew complicated. She stared at Evan Lin's face, searching for some clue, but no matter how she looked, he stayed perfectly blank, which only annoyed her more.

Chief Gary Chen said, "I'm here specifically to escort Chairman Wang. As for this case, we'll need to discuss it in detail."

Before Daniel Ruan could react, Mrs. Ruan—still clutching her unconscious son—snapped, her face twisted with rage: "What's there to discuss? He beat up my son! I want him to pay! Just shoot him already!"

After Mrs. Ruan's outburst, Daniel Ruan hesitated, then gritted his teeth, glared at Wayne Wang, and said coldly, "Chairman Wang, you'd better stay out of this. Sure, you have enough money to crush my company—"

"But I'm not some pushover! Are you really willing to stand against all of Capitalview's business world for this kid? No matter how powerful you are, your roots are still in Seacrest Province! You'd better think this through!"

When Daniel Ruan finished, Wayne Wang just smiled, beckoned, and an assistant immediately stepped up with a folder.

Wayne Wang slapped the folder right into Daniel Ruan's face.

Daniel Ruan froze, instinctively picked up the folder, and when he opened it, just one glance made his legs go weak—he almost collapsed.

Just seconds ago, Daniel Ruan had put on a tough front, but now he dropped to his knees, begging for mercy: "Chairman Wang, I was wrong! I was wrong! I never should've messed with you! Please, let me go!"

That file—Wayne Wang had it specially prepared before coming, full of dirt on local companies, including Daniel Ruan's. Bribery, tax evasion, and a whole chain of black-market dealings—the evidence was damning.

Otherwise, Daniel Ruan never could've monopolized Capitalview's building materials market.

"Begging me won't help. If you want mercy, beg this young man."

"If he says you're free to go, I'll let you go. If not—get ready to spend the rest of your life behind bars!"
