The Children Are Born

Susan Soo let out a mocking laugh, squeezing out each word with biting sarcasm: "You... made... a... promise?"

A promise?

A promise?!

You think you're qualified to even talk about promises?!!

"I get that you can't trust me right now, but this time I'm not lying to you. Sophia, of course I'm not fit to be Jonathan's father. Scum like me deserves to die in a ditch—what can I say, I'm a bad guy." Adam Zade said the most shameless words in the calmest tone: "But you're not. You're a good person, and you can be a good mother. Jonathan never got a shred of fatherly love, but maybe he'll have a chance at the great and selfless redemption only a mother can give. That might be the only light in his miserable life."

Susan Soo clenched her fingers again.

"Make your decision." Seeing the timing was right, Adam Zade was ready to seal the deal: "Do you accept this trade or not?"

"Genetic collapse... I... will treat it." Susan Soo turned away, and in her eyes, something blazed fiercely.

It wasn't just anger, but a powerful emotion—a deeper, more primal force.

Like gold sifted from sand, all pretense washed away. In her darkest nightmares and the harshest trials, she never fell into darkness. Instead, within her frail body, an indomitable strength was blooming: "These children... I... will save them all!"
