Chapter 822: The Slap
The Frost Shield exploded with a loud bang, scattering into fragments.
A massive blade of light came crashing down toward Glynn Watson's head. Only then did his expression change—his incantation cut short, he instantly cast an Ice Wall spell and hurriedly raised a Rune Shield.
But in an instant, Thorne's greatsword tore the Ice Wall to shreds. The light blade turned into a blur and struck Glynn Watson's Rune Shield nine times in rapid succession.
Runes flowed across the shield's arc with each of Thorne's strikes, speeding up with every blow. After the ninth hit, the entire Rune Shield's runes collapsed, dissolving into a burst of light.
Glynn Watson stared in disbelief at the greatsword swinging toward him, rage twisting his features.
Thorne sneered. At the moment of impact, he dispelled his Swordmaster's battle aura and used the back of his sword to lash Glynn Watson hard.
Glynn Watson, pampered as a Title Archmage, had a body far stronger than any ordinary person due to his rank—but even that couldn't withstand such a brutal blow.
A scream tore through the air as Glynn Watson's body, like a rag doll, was sent flying a dozen meters by Thorne's strike. He tumbled across the ground for another seven or eight meters before coming to a stop.
His once immaculate mage robe was now in tatters, and his meticulously styled hair was a filthy, dust-caked mess. Blood streaked his hands and head where he’d been scraped, and his left shoulder—struck by the sword’s back—was already broken. He looked utterly wretched...
Glynn Watson had gone completely mad, shrieking hysterically with no regard for the fact that this was the Blazeforge Fortress under Merlin Family control. His declaration of revenge was naked and absolute—not only did he want Thorne dead, he wanted Leon to die with him, and even threatened to wipe out the entire Merlin Family in retribution...
Seth, who had just breathed a sigh of relief when Thorne showed mercy, felt his face turn pale at hearing Glynn Watson's crazed vow of revenge. As long as no one was killed, everything could be solved—but now, hearing Glynn's madness, his face went ghostly white...
Damn it, Glynn, you idiot! They already spared you, and you still want revenge—not just on Thorne, but dragging Lord Leon Merlin into it too? If you want to die, don’t take me with you, for heaven’s sake...
Seth’s face was ashen; any hope of stopping Glynn Watson was gone. Glynn’s declaration echoed through the Blazeforge Fortress...
At that moment, Leon’s brow furrowed slightly. He slowly extended a finger, pointing at Glynn Watson through the air.
In an instant, endless runes swirled around Leon’s fingertip, coalescing into a piercing point of light. That light transformed into a ray, striking Glynn Watson’s body in a flash.
Glynn Watson, still howling his threats, abruptly stopped, stunned.
The next moment, Glynn Watson felt his magic surging out of control, as if a gaping hole had opened in his body. His mana poured out wildly, draining away through that hole.
Fifth-Rank Title Archmage... Third-Rank Title Archmage... Ninth-Rank Archmage...
Within mere seconds, the runes of magic inside him collapsed, his rank plummeting all the way down to magic apprentice.
In the end, even the last trace of his mana seed flickered out like a tiny flame, scattered by the wind...
In just a dozen seconds, all of Glynn Watson's magic was completely gone.
Glynn Watson's expression twisted through shock, rage, bewilderment, confusion, and utter disbelief...
He couldn't comprehend it at all—Leon Merlin had actually struck without warning, destroying his magic so thoroughly that not even a single mana seed remained...
Damn it, wasn't this guy supposed to be scared? Always silent, always afraid of Lord Seth, right?
How could he dare! How could he do this—not afraid of the Watson Family's revenge?
I'll make him pay. I swear I'll make him suffer, make him wish he was dead!
That's right, Lord Seth! Damn it, he dared to strike in front of Lord Seth and so brutally destroyed my magic...
In an instant, countless thoughts raced through Glynn Watson’s mind—mostly disbelief and fury. But the moment he thought of Seth, he became even more crazed and hysterical...
"Lord Seth, kill him! Kill him! That stupid groundhog dared to do this, he actually dared—kill him, hurry up and kill him!
