You Don’t Seem Like a Bad Person

2/14/2026

What does leaving this cave have to do with anything? Evan Yang grew more confused the further he walked. The Phantom Spirit Bird had disappeared, vanishing from sight, as if it was scouting ahead or something.

Faced with such circumstances, Evan could only keep searching forward. After a while, he actually heard the sound of water, which immediately caught his attention.

Evan walked toward the direction of the water. After a bit, he found an underground river. He had no idea where it led, but the surrounding stones—whatever kind they were—glimmered and sparkled.

Looking at the sparkling stones that lit up the area, Evan deactivated his night vision and searched for signs of the Phantom Spirit Bird.

Finally, on a patch of trampled weeds, he spotted the Phantom Spirit Bird. Evan walked over and asked, "Why did you bring me here? There doesn't seem to be any exit."

The Phantom Spirit Bird sent Evan a message, and Evan paused, surprised. "You said there's movement below?"

Curious, Evan thought maybe the weeds were hiding some kind of exit, so he lifted them up. What he saw inside stunned him: a woman, soaking wet, her clothes clinging to her skin. Even though she wore a thin garment, in such damp conditions, her entire body was exposed before Evan's eyes.

Evan was shocked to discover she was actually a beauty. He didn't know why she was lying there. He called out a few times, but she didn't respond. So Evan checked her condition and found she seemed to have been poisoned and was unconscious.

Fortunately, Evan knew how to detoxify. He cleared away the weeds, then used Sacred Flame to evaporate the water from her body. The droplets on her clothes and skin slowly turned into steam, and only when there was no more vapor did Evan begin inspecting her internally.

He found that the toxins had accumulated in the area around her head, leaving her unconscious. Evan closed his eyes, placed his hands on her back, and infused Tianhan qi into her body.

The Tianhan qi surged like a powerful current, spreading through the woman's body and purging the lingering toxins. Finally, it gathered at the top of her head, clearing out the worst of the poison in her brain.

Time ticked by. Evan focused intently on the treatment. The woman slowly woke up, feeling a pair of hands on her back. Reflexively, she sprang up and stared at Evan.

At that moment, Evan opened his eyes and said, "You're awake."

"You—I'm going to kill you!" the woman shouted. With that, she threw a flying sword, aiming to take Evan's life.

Evan was startled and quickly dodged. The spot where he had been was shattered by the flying sword. The woman shouted again, "You running dog!"

"What on earth is going on?" Evan exclaimed, shocked.

"Stop pretending. Even an Earth-Immortal dares to get close to me!" the woman yelled angrily.

Evan explained, "You still haven't cleared all the poison in your body. If you keep this up, you'll soon lose all your strength. Don't blame me then."

"It's none of your business if I'm poisoned. I'll kill you first and deal with it later!" the woman shouted.

Evan was frustrated. He'd saved her, but she still wanted to kill him. Even his kindness had limits, so he couldn't help but say, "If I'd known, I wouldn't have bothered saving you."

"Hmph, wasn't it your people who drugged me? Don't pretend to be compassionate!" the woman snorted coldly.

"Drugged you? That's not my thing. I don't even know you," Evan replied.

"Once I capture you, I'll make you confess who tried to harm me!" the woman shouted angrily. With that, she launched her flying sword at Evan again.

Evan realized she was still poisoned; otherwise, her strength would be much greater. Even so, he barely avoided her attacks.

"If you keep this up, you'll just fall unconscious again!" Evan said.

"I don't need your help! You sly brat, today I'll wipe you out!" the woman shouted angrily.

Evan felt this woman was truly unreasonable. How could he know what trauma or poison she'd suffered before?

Just as the woman was about to attack again, she found herself too weak to muster any strength, swaying unsteadily. "You—you, what did you do to me?"

"Did I do anything to you? You were already poisoned. I helped clear some of it just now, but there's still some left. Yet you keep twisting things around and trying to kill me," Evan sighed.

"You—you liar," the woman said.

"A liar? You still don't trust me? If I really wanted to, I could've stripped you completely just now," Evan said, annoyed at her suspicion.

Hearing this, the woman quickly covered her chest, embarrassed and angry. "You—"

"No need to cover up. I already touched you several times while treating you," Evan teased, deliberately provoking her since she had tried to kill him out of nowhere.

The woman's face flushed with both shame and anger. "You—you—"

"What? Come on, kill me if you can. I don't think you have any strength left," Evan said with a grin.

The woman realized she couldn't kill Evan in her current state. The only way was to clear the poison first. But how? Did she really have to rely on him? After thinking it over, she decided to trick Evan—let him help her, then kill him once she recovered.

So the woman suddenly changed her tone, saying, "Sorry for offending you just now. Thank you for your help. Please continue to clear the poison for me."

Evan was surprised by how quickly her attitude shifted. He had expected her to keep struggling, but she made up her mind in an instant.

"What? Still dazed? Or are you holding a grudge because I offended you just now?" the woman asked, frowning.

"Not really. I'll help detoxify you," Evan said. He stepped forward; the woman, now completely weak, couldn't even use her flying sword and could only sit obediently while Evan placed his hands on her back again.

As the unfamiliar man's hands touched her body, the woman shivered. Evan was startled by her reaction, secretly wondering, "Is she really that sensitive?"

Inwardly, the woman cursed, "No man has ever dared touch me since I was young. This time, you're dead for sure."

Evan had no idea what she was thinking, assuming she was just overly sensitive. He continued clearing the poison. Because of her earlier struggle, the toxins had spread, so Evan had to change his hand positions and drive them out from different angles.

Seeing Evan moving his hands all over her back, the woman's face turned bright red. Internally, she cursed him countless times: "Damn you, for every time you touch me, I'll chop you that many times later."

Evan didn't expect his treatment from different angles would cause such a huge misunderstanding.

But Evan wasn't stupid. He sensed the changes in her aura and knew that once the treatment was done, things wouldn't end well for him.

So Evan made a secret move while treating her. The woman had no idea; Evan used a strange seal, and she unknowingly fell for it.

Once all the toxins were cleared, Evan withdrew his hands and smiled, "It's done."

"Are you sure?" The woman stood up, feeling much better—no more dizziness, and her spirit was restored.

"Mm," Evan replied with a smile.

"Good. Now I'll kill you!" the woman suddenly shouted, embarrassed and furious.

Evan just laughed, "I forgot to mention—you won't be able to fight for another day."

The woman tried to summon her flying sword, but found she couldn't channel any immortal energy. Shocked and angry, she demanded, "What did you do to me?"

"I'm not stupid. I knew you'd come after me, so I made a little adjustment. It'll be lifted in a day, and then you'll be back to normal," Evan explained.

"You—you shameless!" the woman cursed.

"I'm shameless? I saved you, and you want to kill me? What does that make you?" Evan retorted.

"That's because you humiliated me!" the woman argued.

"Humiliated you? How did I humiliate you? Tell me," Evan said.

"You took advantage of treating me to touch me all over," the woman said.

"Touch you all over? I was treating you," Evan said helplessly.

"That's just an excuse!" the woman retorted.

"Excuse? If I wanted to touch you, why wouldn't I touch your front or your lower half? Why only your back? Seriously, do I have some weird fetish?" Evan said, speechless.

"You pervert!" The woman's face turned bright red and she looked ready to kill, but couldn't use her immortal energy.

"Don't waste your energy. You can't move now. I'm leaving; you can stay here and wait," Evan said, quickly distancing himself to avoid trouble when she recovered.

When she heard Evan was leaving, the woman blocked his path. "You're not going anywhere!"

"Miss, what do you really want?" Evan asked helplessly.

"Hurry up and undo it!" the woman demanded, her face flushed with embarrassment.

"No," Evan shook his head.

"You pervert," the woman said.

"Keep calling me a pervert and I'll really act like one!" Evan said, raising his hands.

The woman was startled, quickly retreating and covering her chest.

Seeing her reaction, Evan smiled and lowered his hands. "If you keep chasing me, I'll really take liberties with you. Then you'll know what a pervert is."

The woman was frightened. Seeing her so scared, Evan smiled and prepared to leave. With her immortal energy sealed, if she encountered any villains or pursuers, she'd be in even more trouble. At least Evan had already touched her; staying with him was better than falling into worse hands.

The woman gritted her teeth and said, "Take me with you!"

"Take you? Do you think I'm an idiot?" Evan was shocked by her request.

"How can you be so heartless? Leaving me alone—what if I run into fierce beasts or evil people?" the woman pleaded, pretending to be pitiful.

Evan paused, "Fierce beasts? Evil people? I think they're not as bad as you."

"What are you saying? Am I that scary? I can't move at all right now—I couldn't even handle a normal spirit beast," the woman said anxiously.

Evan realized she had a point. The forest was strange; if she really got into trouble, it would be like indirectly causing her death. That made Evan headache.

If he took her along, he'd be in trouble once she recovered. If he didn't, she'd be in trouble if anything happened.

"I can see you're not a bad person. Just help me and take me with you. I promise I won't cause trouble. If you're worried I'll attack you, I'll give you an address—just bring me there. That way, I can't hurt you and I'll be safe. Isn't that fair?" the woman said.
