This pain was unprecedented—no matter how Evan Chu imagined it before the battle, he never could have guessed it would be this brutal.
Of course, though Evan Chu was severely wounded, Demon Emperor Wotan wasn’t having an easy time either. That Icefire Divine Eye, which completely drained the fire and water elements, was incredibly powerful—its piercing force could shatter almost any defense.
And this time was no exception. Twin beams of icefire divine light, infused with golden dragon power, tore straight through Wotan’s demonic body—one of them nearly pulverizing his heart.
“Ugh...” Wotan’s heart was shattered by the divine light, making him spit a mouthful of fresh blood. His chest exploded under the combined force of ice and fire energy, yet the demonic shadow behind him kept dancing, his power undiminished.
But the surrounding space was ablaze with Evan Chu’s divine fire, burning away much of the dark-element energy inside Wotan, which made him furious.
“Damn it! You actually managed to hurt me? You bastard!”
“The fight isn’t over yet—bring it on!” Evan Chu’s rage was fully ignited; in this moment, he went just as wild.
He unleashed his wood element at full power; while his injuries worsened, they were also healing rapidly. At the same time, he burned his own dragon blood, forcing his combat strength even higher!
He knew that even if he survived this battle, he’d be seriously injured and unable to recover his strength for a long time.
But he had no other choice now—since it had come to this, he could only keep fighting! If he turned back, Wotan would rise even faster, and then no one in the God Realm could stop him. If Wotan conquered the God Realm and Netherworld in succession, the Spirit Lord’s plot would succeed...
For this battle—even if it cost him his life—Evan Chu was determined to ruin Wotan’s plan, or at least drag him down and give Titus a shot at resurrection!
Meanwhile, outside the Demonic Imperial Capital, the battlefield was a blood-soaked hell. The air was thick with killing intent, corpses lay everywhere, and the Golden-Winged God Roc and Shadow the chaos beast were covered in blood, looking utterly miserable.
Lynn Chu’s dragon body was riddled with wounds, invaded by dark demonic qi, her organs heavily damaged. Only Elena Rainveil was faring slightly better—after all, she was an early-stage God-Emperor. Though she’d paid a heavy price in this battle, the baptism of blood meant that, given time to recuperate, her realm might even advance further.
They were strong, inflicting casualties several times greater than their own on Wotan’s forces and the God Realm traitors. But even a fierce tiger can’t withstand a pack of wolves—at this rate, the situation couldn’t last much longer.
Wotan’s army in the Demonic Realm was far larger than fake Princess Serena had anticipated. Their speed of assembly and the strength of their experts completely exceeded her expectations!
That’s why she kept leading Titus’s Old Guard in a desperate defense—otherwise, the capital would have been overrun, and Elena and Lynn Chu would have been caught in a pincer attack from inside and out.
Fake Princess Serena originally wanted to rush into the capital to check on Evan Chu’s situation, but was blasted away by a terrifying energy storm as soon as she charged in. If she hadn’t dodged in time, she’d have been seriously hurt. When she finally glimpsed the center of the battlefield—seeing the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon dancing in the heavens and the massive black demonic shadow—she was utterly shaken.
Is this their power? So terrifying? Too scary! Without Lord Titus, our clan could never match them. We have to speed up the plan to resurrect our emperor!
At that moment, Evan Chu and Wotan clashed once again.
Inside Evan Chu’s dantian, five Star Marks were pushed to the brink of explosion as he frantically drew on their power—channeling terrifying Stellar Power from the distant Big Dipper.
“Such tricks... Fine! Let’s see who’s really stronger!”
If I live, you die!
The Frostbane Divine Sword erupted with the last trace of Wind and Thunder Law from Evan Chu’s body, fusing with the Stellar Power borrowed from the heavens above.
Seeing this, fake Princess Serena didn’t hesitate—she turned and fled. This kind of terrifying power had already surpassed late-stage God-Emperor; the explosion would rip the very fabric of space apart!
Sure enough, Wotan’s face changed too. The demonic shadow behind him swelled by hundreds of zhang, surging with demonic qi, and his blood-red scythe, packed with even fiercer dark element energy, smashed into Evan Chu’s Frostbane Divine Sword.
This explosion obliterated half the Demonic Imperial Capital—boom, boom, boom! The shockwaves kept coming, and even fake Princess Serena, thousands of zhang away, was left temporarily deafened.
At the very center of the battlefield, a thousand-zhang-deep crater appeared. The golden dragon’s aura in the heavens grew weak, but Demon Emperor Wotan had vanished.
“Did... did he die?” Fake Princess Serena flew over, staring at Evan Chu in shock.
“Dead? I doubt... it’s that easy.”
Evan Chu was still breathing heavily as he spoke. He was now so drained that even a Demon Emperor could finish him off.
Finally, he couldn’t maintain his golden dragon form and reverted to his human body. Swoosh! He plummeted from the sky at breakneck speed, crashing hard into the ground. If he hadn’t braced himself at the last second with the Frostbane Divine Sword, he would’ve face-planted right there.
Fake Princess Serena’s eyes flickered—he was this weak? Why not just kill him now! Judging from the situation, Demon Emperor Wotan seemed to have been slain too. If she could finish Evan Chu off, it would help Lord Titus by removing another rival!
And if she did, there’d be no one left to stop Lord Titus from coming back.
As she thought this, fake Princess Serena’s gaze turned cold. But before she could act, the sounds of battle came roaring from afar.
“Charge in! Protect our emperor—wipe out every last invader!”
“Kill all the outsiders—and every traitor in our clan!”

Evan Chu coughed up a mouthful of golden blood and said to Princess Serena, “What, you’re not leaving? You plan to stay and get killed, or are you looking for a chance to assassinate me?”
If it’s the latter, you’re welcome to try.
“No... I, I wasn’t...” Fake Princess Serena hesitated, but just then, an angry roar thundered above her head.
“Evan Chu! Well done, very well done! I never imagined you could destroy my body with just that much power! Hmph, but don’t get cocky—as long as my demonic soul survives, regaining a new body and returning to my peak is only a matter of time!
And you—hahaha! My demonic army is already here. You’re dead for sure now!”
Evan Chu saw the demonic shadow rise again in the heavens and laughed, “So you’re not dead after all. But you’ve been wounded so badly you lost your body—still acting so arrogant, I have to hand it to you.”
“You’re not much better off than me. Your fate will be even worse!”
“Is that so? I don’t buy it.” Evan Chu shook his head, then turned to Princess Serena and said, “You’d better leave now and focus on resurrecting Titus. As for Wotan, let Titus settle things himself—if he can’t even handle that, then even if he comes back, he’s not qualified to fight me!”
With a wave of Evan Chu’s hand, countless elemental spirit beasts and invisible soul phantoms appeared in the sky. Their terrifying auras instantly forced the demonic army outside to retreat.
“Did you really think I was alone? Naive.”
Fake Princess Serena shuddered in fear—Evan Chu was truly gravely injured and had lost his combat strength, but he still had such trump cards. Luckily she hadn’t tried anything before, or she’d already be dead!
