I Might Be a Foolish Emperor
"Do you have anything else to say?" Henry Tuoba asked.
Grace felt a little muddled and said, "Tomorrow is the day of the grand ceremony..."
Henry Tuoba replied, "Tomorrow, I'll rescue you."
Grace stared at him in shock.
Maybe it was because she looked so funny, Henry Tuoba chuckled again and said, "Don't just stand there spacing out. Go back inside. It's freezing out here."
"Why... are you helping me?"
"Because you're beautiful!" Henry Tuoba said playfully. "Maybe I'm just a hopeless emperor—whenever I see a pretty girl, I can't move my feet."
Grace was stunned.
How could he say something like that?
Was it just a coincidence, or did he mean it?
Wait... weren't those the words she'd once said to him?
That was the first time he said he liked her.
And Grace had snapped back at him just like that.
...
"Why are you spacing out? Get back inside! Your nose is all red from the cold!" Henry Tuoba called out again.
Grace's mind was still in a fog, not sure what was happening, but she obediently turned and walked away.
After a few steps, she looked back... but he was gone.
She wondered if she'd just imagined it, so she pinched her own cheek—it hurt.
...
Was she seeing ghosts?
