Promoting the Clearwater Literacy Program

12/2/2025

Su Li cheerfully explained to everyone, "The Clearwater Literacy Program starts tomorrow! Classes will be held twice a day—one session in the morning and one in the afternoon. You can arrange your own schedule. Learning to read isn't hard, really. It just depends on whether you put in the effort!"

The Village Chief chuckled and turned to the crowd, saying, "Learning to read doesn't seem so hard. For the sake of those big steamed buns and juicy meat buns, even if I can't learn, I'll make sure I do!"

The villagers burst out laughing. "That's right! For those big steamed buns and meat buns! If anyone's smart enough to learn a hundred characters a day, they'll get to eat buns every day!"

"Haha! That's right, study hard—the faster you learn, the more you get to eat!" The villagers teased, laughing.

Su Li looked at everyone, seeing their eager faces, and felt incredibly happy inside.

Teaching literacy isn't all that difficult—the key is addressing what really matters to the villagers.

If you force people to learn by fining them, they'll come because they have to, but they won't be happy about it.

But now, with just the cost of twenty steamed buns and eight meat buns per person, you can motivate everyone. They'll want to learn just for the food.

With this approach to the Clearwater Literacy Program, even the elderly grandpas and grandmas would come for the food. There's no worry about the literacy campaign stalling.

Of course, the details need officials to oversee things, just in case someone tries to cheat and claim extra rewards.
