The Big Boss Arrives

Mrs. Charlotte Evans was gentle by nature, always speaking in a soft voice—she was no match for someone as brash as Helen Parker.

Helen Parker relied on her loud voice, shouting nonsense, while Mrs. Charlotte Evans was so angry her face turned ashen and her chest heaved, unable to get a word out.

Grandma Evans heard the commotion outside and hurried over. As soon as she saw Mrs. Charlotte Evans, she started scolding: "You ungrateful fourth daughter-in-law, now that you've cozied up to Lily Evans, you've even forgotten your own mother!"

Mrs. Charlotte Evans retorted angrily, "Grandma Evans, my family severed ties with yours long ago. My husband doesn't acknowledge you, and neither do I. You're not my mother-in-law!"

Grandma Evans immediately noticed the heavy silver bracelet on Mrs. Charlotte Evans's wrist. Her eyes widened, and she lunged forward, grabbing Charlotte's arm and yanking at the bracelet with all her strength.

"Ouch, that hurts!" Mrs. Charlotte Evans hadn't expected Grandma Evans to suddenly get physical. The pain was unbearable. Helen Parker joined in, one pulling Charlotte's arm and the other tugging at the bracelet, forcefully ripping it off along with a patch of skin.

A large patch of skin on Mrs. Charlotte Evans's wrist was torn, and blood immediately began to flow. The pain brought tears streaming down her face.

"Charlotte! Charlotte!" In the distance, Arthur Evans, who had come looking for his wife, saw the Evans family members tussling with her and rushed over. When he saw the injury on Charlotte's hand, his gaze instantly turned cold.

"Oh, the fourth son is here." Helen Parker said sarcastically to Arthur Evans, "Tsk, your family sure lives well at Lily Evans's place! Even your bracelets are so big—must've sucked up to her a lot, huh? Since you've benefited from Lily, why didn't you share any with your parents? Arthur, your mother gave birth to you, how can you be so heartless?"

Grandma Evans glared, pointing at the hairpin on Mrs. Charlotte Evans's head. "Arthur, take all the jewelry off your wife's head and give it to me!"
