Ultimate Quest and the Creation Sky Monolith

1/18/2026

"Ding! Ultimate quest: Seize all forty-nine strands of Creation Divine Light. Success will reward you with ten thousand top-grade immortal crystals. Failure means eternal exile into chaotic time-space!"

As soon as Ian Song returned from dinner at Cloud-Heaven Pavilion, that cold, indifferent System notification rang out in his ears.

Instantly, Ian's expression darkened just a bit.

Thanks to Prince Rowan, he now understood quite a bit about the Creation Sky Monolith. As for the cultivation methods, divine weapons, and rare medicines it carried, the gods didn’t really care—under the suppression of this world, no matter how many treasures they consumed, their cultivation wouldn’t improve in the slightest.

But the Creation Divine Light could help gods transcend this world’s limits—so naturally, it became the one thing all gods fought over.

Now the System had assigned him the quest to seize all forty-nine strands of Creation Divine Light—which basically meant making an enemy of every god.

There were less than ten thousand known gods in this world.

As for high-tier gods, both in the open and in hiding, there shouldn’t be more than twenty.

Ian himself had already reached the level of a high-tier god—he could even defeat them, and if he unleashed Nine Stellar Transformations, killing them wouldn’t be too difficult.

But if they joined forces, he definitely wouldn’t stand a chance. So, trying to seize all the Creation Divine Light was absolutely a super-difficult quest.

Still, the System’s reward was extremely generous.

Ten thousand top-grade immortal crystals—even in the Immortal Realm, that was a staggering fortune. With those crystals, he could definitely ascend to true Immortal status.

As for the punishment—eternal exile into chaotic time-space—if he didn’t have the Divine Temple, that would be terrifying. But with the Divine Temple, even if he was exiled, he could still slip back.

And there was one more thing.

After he finished the Insect Horde extermination quest, the System hadn’t issued a new mission right away. Now that it finally did, it was indirectly telling him—the Creation Sky Monolith was probably about to descend.

At that moment, in the Hundred Gods Realm, inside a certain palace, a group of Human gods was gathering once again.

"Prophet Goddess, you summoned us all here—does that mean the Creation Sky Monolith is about to descend?" asked a burly male god, his physique like a mountain.

"Yes."

The Prophet Goddess nodded. "Today I had a sudden impulse, so I performed a divination. I found that the Creation Sky Monolith has already appeared ten thousand miles beyond Manggu Continent. In at most a month, or as little as ten days, it will descend into our world!"

"Were you able to divine where the Creation Sky Monolith will land?"

Eldon, the God of Longevity, asked anxiously. He’d lived far too long—he’d grown thoroughly weary of this world, and every moment he just wanted to transcend. So ever since he learned the Creation Sky Monolith was about to descend, he’d been counting the days.

"It should be in the Sky-Sun Region!" said the Prophet Goddess.

"The Sky-Sun Region—seriously?"

Many gods cried out in surprise. Wherever the Creation Sky Monolith landed, that place would become a peerless blessed land.

If the Creation Sky Monolith really did descend into the Sky-Sun Region, then that region would become the center of the continent—the benefits would be unimaginable.

A few days passed in a flash.

That day, Prince Rowan hurried over to see Ian Song.

"Brother Ian, I’ve got definite news—the Creation Sky Monolith will descend upon our Human race soon, and the landing site is most likely the Sky-Sun Region!"

"Where’d you hear that?"

Ian asked.

Prince Rowan didn’t answer. He just pointed up at the sky, and Ian immediately understood—it was the Human gods.

"So what’s your plan?" Ian asked again.

"We set out for the Sky-Sun Region at once!"

Prince Rowan declared without hesitation.

Less than half an hour after Prince Rowan left, Princess Myra Vance arrived.

She brought Ian the same news.

"Ian Chu, how about forming an alliance with me?"

Princess Myra Vance said bluntly.

If the Creation Sky Monolith landed in the Central Domain, the ancient super-formation would give the princes and princesses a huge advantage. But in the Sky-Sun Region, they’d lose that edge. Ian’s strength was well known—apart from Ao Tian and Feng Jiu, he was the strongest among them, so naturally he was the best ally.

"Deal!"

Ian nodded and agreed. His goal was to seize all the strands of Creation Divine Light—the other resources were secondary.

When Ian agreed, Princess Myra Vance immediately broke into a smile. She thanked him and left, perfectly satisfied.

Soon after, several other princes and princesses arrived one after another, all hoping to form alliances with Ian.

But Ian turned them down flat.

The princes were furious, and one princess even tried to seduce him after his refusal—but he still rejected her.

"Boss, word just came from the Dragonfolk—the Creation Sky Monolith is about to descend into the Human Sky-Sun Region!"

Drake Liu arrived, bringing several Dragonfolk prodigies with him.

These Dragonfolk prodigies were all extremely strong—two were even a notch above Drake Liu himself.

The next day.

Ian and his group, along with Drake Liu, the Dragonfolk prodigies, the Blood Demon Race prodigies, King Xin, and Princess Myra Vance’s retinue, set out together. They used a teleportation array to travel to the edge of the Central Domain.

Then, after using several more teleportation arrays in other domains, they finally arrived in the Sky-Sun Region on the third day and settled at the Wang family residence.

In the days that followed, prodigies from every race used every means at their disposal to rush to the Sky-Sun Region. For a time, the Sky-Sun Region became the center of Manggu Continent, drawing everyone’s attention.

Meanwhile—

The Goblin Race returned in force, sending a massive army to assault the Sky-Sun Region. Unlike before, this time their attack was ferocious, as if they’d mobilized the strength of their entire race.

The next day, the neighboring Rockfolk, Treant Race, and Devil Apes all launched attacks on the Sky-Sun Region at the same time.

Beset on all sides, the Sky-Sun Region was plunged into a desperate situation.

In just five days, a fifth of the territory was seized by the four invading races.

And on that day, six more races declared war on the Sky-Sun Region, plunging it into utter chaos.

Three more days passed.

Only a third of the Sky-Sun Region’s territory remained. The Human population suffered heavy casualties, and wherever the most brutal races swept through, nothing was left alive—mountains of corpses, rivers of blood, fields of bones, and resentment thick in the air.

But on this day—

The entire Manggu Continent shook violently. Then, a colossal, mysterious monolith appeared in the sky, tens of thousands of meters tall, radiating Creation and Yin-Yang power.

Some impatient prodigies from various races immediately flew up, hoping to seize the Creation Divine Light—but as soon as they got within ten thousand meters of the monolith, they were annihilated.

In that moment, all the prodigies understood: until the Creation Sky Monolith fully descended, no one could approach it.

And on the day the Creation Sky Monolith appeared in the sky, all the invading races halted their attacks on the Sky-Sun Region.

Boom!

A day later, the Creation Sky Monolith descended into a desert in the Sky-Sun Region. Its powerful Creation energy spread outward, instantly transforming the desert into a grassland. Then, all manner of plants began to grow wildly, and within an hour, the former desert was a forest of ancient trees.

At the same time, with the Creation Sky Monolith at its heart, the region’s spiritual energy surged. In less than three hours, the Sky-Sun Region’s ambient energy increased tenfold.

And this was only the beginning. The Sky-Sun Region’s energy continued to grow by the moment. Before long, it would rival the Central Domain as a sacred land for cultivation.
