Having someone come straight to Evan Chu’s doorstep was exactly what he’d been hoping for. The Origin Worldstone was so enormous that running into anyone was like finding a needle in a haystack—maybe this guy was also hunting for targets. Evan’s eyes lit up: anyone bold enough to show up here would definitely be carrying a pile of Immortal Tokens.
Evan Chu rose to his feet, silently waiting for the newcomer to arrive. Just a few breaths later, a youth materialized before him—twenty-five or twenty-six years old, and his aura screamed late-stage God-King. Evan’s certainty deepened: this guy was loaded with Immortal Tokens, no doubt about it.
"Hand over your Immortal Tokens and I’ll spare your life!" The youth’s voice was cold as ice, treating Evan Chu like he was beneath notice.
"Why should I hand over my Immortal Tokens? Why don’t you cough up yours instead?" Evan Chu shot back, his mind already racing—how best to crush this arrogant punk?
Last time, Evan had one-shotted two late-stage God-Kings because he’d built up a monstrous charge of elemental particles inside their Space Domains. Right now, he didn’t have that setup—unless this youth was foolish enough to unleash a Space Domain, which would let Evan slice him apart in a blink. Otherwise, he’d have to burn a bit more effort.
"I’d hand over my Immortal Tokens if you were strong enough, but you’re not. Since you refuse to listen, don’t blame me for being ruthless. A mere mid-stage God-Lord dares to enter the God-King bracket—guess you’ve got some guts after all." The youth sneered, dripping contempt and threat.
Suddenly, the youth’s face lit up as if he’d just struck gold. "So it’s you—the biggest spender at the auction! My luck’s off the charts. I was thinking of letting you live, but now I have no choice but to kill you and take everything you’ve got!"
Evan Chu blinked, then fired back, "Why the sudden urge to kill me? Did I offend you at the auction, or are you just drooling over my treasures and afraid the news will leak if you don’t silence me?"
"Of course it’s the latter. As long as I get your auction loot, even if I can’t marry Zoe Rainveil, with enough Violet Cloud Crystals, I’ll never be short on women. Time to die, kid!" The youth’s eyes flashed with greed as he lunged at Evan Chu.
Evan Chu felt a surge of joy—he’d just thought of the perfect way to deal with this clown, the most efficient and least effort method. As the youth struck, Evan retreated in a blur, activating Windshift and leaving a streak of green afterimage to dodge the attack.
Then he shot away at top speed—but it was all a show. Evan wanted the youth to think he was running for his life, too scared to fight head-on. The green Wind Element light swirling around him was just to flaunt his speed, making it clear that chasing him down would be anything but easy.
This was the bait—only then would the youth be forced to unleash his Space Domain and try to trap Evan. That was exactly what Evan wanted: once inside, he could harvest all the elemental particles hidden in the domain. Just imagining the outcome made Evan want to laugh out loud.
Seeing Evan Chu try to escape, the youth grew frantic. The green Wind Element light swirling around Evan signaled rare wind power—catching him would be a nightmare.
Missing this once-in-a-lifetime chance would haunt him forever. No matter what, he had to get his hands on Evan’s treasures. The youth charged after him, but even as a late-stage God-King, he was still slower than Evan Chu—embarrassingly so.
Within a few breaths, Evan had already left the youth trailing by more than a hundred meters, though he was still inside the Space Domain’s range. If Evan got past two hundred meters, trapping him would be impossible.
The Space Domain’s pressure was uneven—strongest at the center, weaker at the edges. The youth grew anxious and hastily activated his Space Domain, but Evan was already 150 meters away.
A mild pressure swept over Evan Chu, surprising him. He instantly recognized the youth’s Space Domain—but the force was so weak, it was almost laughable.
He quickly realized this Space Domain was packed with powerful Water Element. Evan stopped dead, immediately resonating with the water particles and began gathering them with a grin.
The youth saw Evan Chu suddenly stop and was overjoyed. "Good thing my Space Domain locked him down. If he’d gotten away, I’d regret it for life. Heaven’s really looking out for me today!"
But Evan Chu was laughing to himself: "You’re digging your own grave. If you hadn’t activated your Space Domain or just gave up the chase, maybe you could’ve lived a bit longer. Now you’re dead for sure. I wonder how many regrets you’ll have when I slice you apart."
"Weren’t you just running? Why stop now? Now you see how terrifying my Space Domain is! No matter how fast you are, a mid-stage God-Lord will always be an ant before a God-King. You’ll never escape my grasp!" The youth laughed loudly, basking in his own arrogance.
He acted like Evan Chu’s treasures were already his, practically drooling with impatience to snatch them.
Evan Chu quickly resonated with the Earth Element in the youth’s Space Domain, gathering it up as well. But he needed more time—if the youth attacked too soon, the elemental buildup wouldn’t be enough to crush him.
"You think you’re tough? Flaunting your Space Domain against a so-called weakling? If you’ve got any guts, withdraw your Space Domain and let’s fight for real. I’ll bet my life you’ll be the one lying dead. Dare to try?" Evan Chu taunted, voice dripping with contempt.
"You think I’m a fool? If I withdraw my Space Domain, you’ll just run for your life, and I’ll never trap you again. You think I’d make such a rookie mistake? Blame your own rotten luck for running into me. Dying by my sword should be your greatest honor!" the youth boasted, arrogance overflowing.
Evan Chu sneered, "So you’re just a coward. A late-stage God-King slower than a mid-stage God-Lord ant—if word gets out, you’ll lose all face. You don’t even dare fight head-on. If I were you, I’d just bash my head into tofu and call it quits."
"Tofu? What the hell is tofu? Trying to stall for time, kid? Everyone here wants your treasures. Give up hope already! To avoid any trouble, I’ll kill you now—at least you’ll remember my handsome face before you die!" The youth smirked, utterly arrogant.
He spun his sword, unleashing a flurry of blade-light toward Evan Chu. But Evan just laughed: "You never should’ve crossed me. If you’d met someone else, maybe you’d survive. But with me, you’re dead meat."
With a thought, Evan fused the gathered Water Element into countless shards of Mystic Ice, which flashed before the youth’s eyes. Within seconds, the youth was frozen solid, turned into a Mystic Ice statue.
Evan Chu gathered the Earth Element as well, fusing it into a layer of earth armor around himself. This was just in case the youth managed to break free from the Mystic Ice—Evan wasn’t about to risk his life on a single trick.
But the youth was completely immobilized, unable to budge an inch. Evan Chu didn’t waste any time—he dashed forward and slashed the youth’s throat, ending him instantly.
