Back when Joe Di was still in the Qi Refining stage, he could already use the Ninth Prime Law to help Garrett open up his Star River Meridian. Now, having developed his own cultivation method, Joe Di has fused the Ninth Prime Law and the Sacred Yin Pearl with his Starspace Spiritual Sea, thereby forming the Ninth World. Opening up the Stellar Nexus for Axel, Yana Rain, and Nina Di is now almost effortless.
After their Stellar Nexus was opened, the three cultivated under Joe Di’s supreme spirit vein array, progressing at a tremendous pace.
All three had survived countless battles; Joe Di had no worries about their future survival skills. Since none of them were young anymore, he simply let them focus on frantically advancing their cultivation.
In just over a month, all three reached the mid-stage of Qi Refining, their progress showing no sign of slowing.
Joe Di began to study the Five Element Escape Technique. Both the Five Element Escape and his Divine Sense Escape had their own strengths. Sometimes, Divine Sense Escape wasn’t omnipotent; when his divine sense was suppressed to the limit, the Five Element Escape proved even more powerful.
Thanks to the Ninth Prime Law, Joe Di himself was a pioneer in creating Stellar Nexus cultivation methods. His understanding of the Five Element Laws was profound, and he had spent years researching Divine Sense Escape. Now, with the Five Element Escape Technique in hand, his progress was equally rapid.
Five months later, all three successfully established their Foundation. Joe Di also stopped studying the Five Element Escape Technique and set out for the Ning Family on Abyssal Star.
A typical cultivation star—nowhere on it was beyond the reach of Joe Di’s divine sense. To visit the Ning Family, it took only a thought for him to arrive outside their gates.
Standing outside the Ning Family’s protective array, Joe Di lightly tapped the restriction. Even if Nina Di and her son had stirred up chaos within the Ning Family, he needed to clarify the situation first.
When Nina Di left the Ning Family, she was only seven years old. At that age, she understood much, but there were still many things she couldn’t grasp.
What’s more, there was something he still couldn’t understand: why, at the age of seven, had Nina Ning’s parents never taught her anything about cultivation?
By rights, neither her mother, Autumn Waters, nor the Ning Clan would have overlooked something so important.
……
Grand Abyss Star was home not only to powerful cultivation sects, but also to many formidable cultivation clans.
The Ning Clan of Qian'ang Province was one such top-tier family. Just over a decade ago, a mere stomp from the Ning Clan would make all of Qian'ang Province tremble.
Even the foundations of Grand Abyss Star’s elite cultivation sects might not have run as deep as the Ning Clan’s.
Yet even such a powerful Ning Clan managed to provoke formidable enemies. Over ten years ago, two outsiders arrived at the Ning Clan. For reasons unknown, these two were beset by the clan’s strongest cultivators.
No one in the Ning Clan could have foreseen that these two were peerless experts. In the ensuing chaos, they killed Zane Ning, the clan head at the seventh layer of the Transforming True Realm, as well as Eldon Ning and Jules Ning, both at the ninth layer. They also slew dozens of other top-tier experts, and even the clan’s greatest prodigy, Nicholas Ning, perished in that battle.
After that battle, the Ning Clan was left utterly weakened.
Now, the Ning Clan had fallen from a super-first-class family to barely second-rate. It was only because Quentin Ning had, by chance, broken through to the first layer of the Transforming True Realm; otherwise, the Ning Clan wouldn’t even qualify as third-rate.
If the Ning Clan wished to reclaim its former glory, it would need a tremendous stroke of fortune. And right now, such an opportunity lay before them: the Cloudspire Ruins had appeared on Grand Abyss Star.
Cloudspire Ruins was an ancient battlefield, where countless top experts had fallen. It was said to contain innumerable treasures, cultivation techniques, and even legendary spirit herb gardens.
But entry slots for Cloudspire Ruins were extremely limited. The Ning Clan was currently holding a Clan Assembly to prepare for it.
At that moment, someone unexpectedly knocked on the restriction.
The clan head, Quentin Ning, sitting at the head of the table, frowned slightly. Normally, when a clan or sect’s protective array was closed, even visitors would never casually knock on its restriction—such behavior was not only rude, but could be seen as a provocation.
Even if there was urgent business, one would wait outside the array until it opened and someone emerged to receive them.
"David Yi, go see who’s knocking on our Ning Clan’s restriction at such a time," Quentin Ning said coldly.
"Yes, sir." A middle-aged man in brown replied, then quickly left.
……
"Who are you looking for?" Joe Di didn’t have to wait long before the array opened and a brown-clothed middle-aged man appeared before him, his tone chilly.
Joe Di said calmly, "My name is Joe Di. I’ve come to look for my daughter and my wife—I heard they were here."
"Joe Di?" The brown-clothed man frowned, repeating the name, then stared at Joe Di in shock. "Are you Autumn Waters’ father?"
Joe Di nodded. "That’s right, I am Autumn Waters’ father—Joe Di."
"Please, come in!" The brown-clothed man’s eyes flashed with irrepressible joy. He stepped aside and gestured Joe Di inside.
Without hesitation, Joe Di stepped through the array gate.
"Daoist Joe, please follow me." The brown-clothed man quickly closed the array again and led the way.
"David Yi, who is this?" Seeing David Yi bring a stranger inside without permission, Quentin Ning’s face darkened.
It was the Ning Clan’s Clan Assembly. David Yi was his trusted aide, yet he’d shown such poor judgment. Quentin had sent him to see who was at the gate, not to bring someone in without permission.
Before Quentin Ning could erupt, David Yi bowed. "Clan head, this is Daoist Joe Di—Autumn Waters’ father. He’s come specifically to look for Autumn Waters."
"You’re Joe… Autumn Waters’ father?" Quentin Ning stood up in shock, then his eyes also flashed with excitement. "Quick, please sit. David Yi, make some tea. Philip Fu, go tell Uncle Elm we have an honored guest—hurry…"
As Joe Di sat down, he clearly saw Quentin Ning’s hand trembling slightly—obviously, he was overwhelmed with excitement.

Although the Ning Clan was full of divine sense isolation arrays, to Joe Di these were mere decorations—his divine sense easily pierced through them.
He watched as Philip Fu woke an elder from closed-door cultivation and informed him that Autumn Waters’ father, Joe Di, had arrived. Joe’s divine sense swept over the elder, who, in his excitement, grabbed an array banner. Joe Di’s array mastery far surpassed Supreme Immortal Ward; he didn’t even need to check to know the banner was for activating the Ning Clan’s Ninth-Tier Deathtrap Array.
The Ning Clan’s deathtrap array was formidable—a true Ninth-Tier Deathtrap Array. But to Joe Di, such formations were mere child’s play.
"Alas, Autumn Waters’ situation is hard to put into words. My Ning Clan has let her down…"
Quentin Ning had barely begun when David Yi entered with a jade pot. Quentin personally poured Joe Di a cup of tea. "Though Nicholas is gone, as his elder brother, I bear responsibility. Fortunately, things haven’t reached the point of no return…"
Joe Di’s divine sense scanned the tea. Even though he hadn’t cultivated the Dao of Laws, he could sense the deadly Weepingroot in the tea—a colorless, tasteless poison. Now that he cultivated the Cosmic Law Dao, its toxic properties were immediately clear to him.
This poison had no antidote; once consumed, it would utterly destroy one’s core and spirit sea, regardless of cultivation level—or so the cultivation world believed. But Joe Di, who cultivated the Dao of Heaven and Earth, knew that no poison was truly without a cure.
Without hesitation, Joe Di drank the tea in one gulp. He sighed inwardly—if possible, he truly didn’t wish to annihilate the clan, but today he had no choice.
Drinking the tea was simply giving the other side an excuse to make the first move, so that when he met his daughter later, he’d have an explanation—it wasn’t he who struck first.
