"Hey, not bad!" Cobra pushed up his glasses. "Your flagship product may have taken a beating, but it looks like it has adaptive evolution abilities. The tougher the opponent, the stronger it gets. Impressive, impressive—this is awesome."

"Hmph, of course." Pagamenon sat back down, but his expression was still sour. He'd boasted about using Black Death Emperor as a test dummy to build hype for the flagship product, banking on the Emperor's reputation to boost the brand. But now, some random woman had shown up and beaten the Slaughterer to a pulp. His pride was bruised, and the future of his flagship looked bleak.

Plus—he couldn't help but shoot a cold, sharp look at Parfis across the table—nowhere in the Slaughterer's product description did it mention "adaptive evolution." Sure, that's good news for now, but for a true ruler, anything beyond your control is a variable best avoided.

The Slaughterer was a product brought out by the Tiberia Laboratory, which was now under Parfis's control.

So what exactly is Parfis thinking... And what on earth is going on with this Slaughterer?

Pagamenon couldn't help but fall into deep thought.

Meanwhile, over in Eden, the Slaughterer got back up again. Beep beep beep—its stats spiked dramatically. It just dug its toes into the white floor and instantly gouged out several cracks. Crackle! Five sharp spikes burst through its skin, jutting out from its forehead—one more than before. Its savage aura climbed even higher; just standing there, it seemed to radiate endless intimidation.

But this time, just as it got steady—before it could even roar to psych itself up—a pale blue energy blast slammed into its chest.

Not far away, Jonathan's gun barrel glowed red, smoke curling out. He gritted his steel teeth, brows furrowed in rage. He hadn't reacted in time to the Slaughterer's sudden assault, leaving him both embarrassed and furious—absolutely livid. Crack! In the blue light, the Slaughterer was blasted backward, crashing down, a gaping wound burned deep into its chest, all the way to its organs.

But that kind of damage wasn't fatal to it.
