Cut Off Her Head and Bring It Out
Lily Bai watched as Leo Li walked into the barrier, raised her eyebrows slightly, and suddenly smiled at the two Palace Guards: "Officers, I still have some wine left—no poison, I promise—would you like a drink?"
Guard B snapped at her, "Behave yourself!"
Lily Bai looked aggrieved: "This is vintage wine that's been cellared in our Royal Palace for centuries!"
Guard B: "Shut up!"
"Hey, don't be so harsh!" Guard A said. "The young lady is offering you wine, why so rude? What wine is it? Let me see."
Lily Bai summoned a small wine bottle and handed it to him.
He sniffed it. "Wow! This really is fine wine! The aroma is incredibly rich."
Guard B caught a whiff too, swallowed nervously, but was too embarrassed to lower his guard. He muttered, "Watch out, she might poison you."
"Me? A little immortal, dare to poison two great gods? Not a chance." Lily Bai reached to take the bottle back.
"Wait, wait! Let me taste it first!" Guard A took a sip. "Wow! This is amazing wine!"
Seeing Guard A was fine, Guard B rushed to grab a drink too. The two of them took turns, finishing off the whole bottle.
Lily Bai smiled.
Lucky you.
The wine was mixed with Demonic Poison antidote.
After Leo Li entered, just as the guards said, it was freezing inside, with winding passages and water. Soon, he found the cave where Bianca Whitefan was.
He drew his sword, extremely cautious, and walked over. Sure enough, he saw a woman in white lying on the ground, completely lifeless.
Could she really be dead?
Did she die that easily?
Still, he had to check up close to be sure.
Leo Li sheathed his sword, went over, straightened her body, and looked at her face.
But Bianca Whitefan's eyes were wide open, and her stiff facial muscles pulled into an eerily strange smile.
"Ah!" Leo Li screamed in fright, instantly teleporting to the outermost edge, fumbling with talisman papers as he fled the array.
"Well?" Lily Bai asked with a bright smile. "Told you, didn't I? She's dead, right?"
"Lily Bai! How dare you trick me?" Leo Li yanked out his sword and held it to Lily Bai's neck.
"When did I trick you?" Lily Bai trembled in fear. "I didn't! She really is dead! Ask the officers if you don't believe me!"
"Yeah, yeah!" Having drunk her wine, the guards naturally sided with her, plus they'd seen her lying there dead. "Wasn't she dead?"
"Her eyes were open!" Leo Li roared.
And she even smiled at him.
A really creepy smile.
"Eyes open means she died with grievances!" Guard A blurted out.
Smack! Leo Li slapped Guard A across the face. "Shut up!"
Guard A clutched his face and lowered his head, grinding his teeth.
Do the gods judge life or death by whether someone's eyes are open or closed?
They check for any sign of life! Bianca Whitefan was clearly already dead...
Leo Li, apparently rattled, suddenly shoved his sword into Lily Bai's hands. "Go in! Cut off her head and bring it out!"
"Huh?" Lily Bai's eyes widened in terror and she shook her head furiously. "N-no-no-no... I won't!"
"Are you going or not?"
"No... I'm not going!"
Leo Li's eyes narrowed. "If you don't go, the mission isn't complete! You have to drink the poison!"
"Young Master Drake! Please have mercy!" Lily Bai begged.
"Do you know what a Divine Edict is? When a Divine Edict is issued, no one can defy it." Leo Li said. "If you won't cut off her head, you drink the poison! Or you can take it back and have Marcus White drink it! Your choice."
