Sylvia Ran and Ethan Yin Turn Against Each Other

Cecilia Gu turned to follow Joe Qi's gaze, and saw Sylvia Ran walking in, wrapped in a snow-white fur coat over a tight red cocktail dress.

Sylvia Ran entered arm-in-arm with a man in his forties.

"Every time Sylvia Ran shows up, she's got a new man with her," Rona Muir said, crossing her arms. "Joe Qi, you actually sent her an invitation?"

Hearing Rona Muir’s sharp tone, Joe Qi quickly replied, "Are you kidding? Why would I invite her? She’s just a minor character—she doesn’t have that kind of status. But the man with her might be a potential investor tonight. Cici, do you recognize him?"

Cecilia Gu looked at Joe Qi, confused. "Why would I know him?"

Joe Qi grinned mischievously. "Because he’s Director Zhao’s ex-husband!"

"Pffft..." Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir both spat out their juice in shock!

Cecilia Gu looked utterly incredulous. "No way! Isn’t Director Zhao coming tonight too?"

Joe Qi’s grin grew even more wicked. "Yep, Director Zhao will be here! I wonder how she’ll feel seeing her ex-husband show up with one of her actresses at this party."

Rona Muir shot Joe Qi a look. "You’re the host—aren’t you supposed to go greet them?"

Joe Qi laughed heartily, giving both Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir a friendly slap on the shoulder. "Alright, you two have fun. I’m going over to say hi."

As soon as Joe Qi left, Rona Muir immediately pulled out her phone and started searching.

If he really is Director Zoe Zhao’s ex-husband, there’s bound to be stuff about him online.

Sure enough, she found tons of info about the guy with just a quick search.

"Oh wow... he’s really well-preserved! Looks about forty, but he’s actually sixty?" Rona Muir showed Cecilia Gu her phone. "Turns out he’s the chief executive of Gold Prestige Jewelry in China. No wonder he could date Zoe Zhao. But why did Sylvia Ran come here with him? What’s up with that?"

Cecilia Gu looked just as confused.

Last time she secretly met with Director Brooks, and the very next day he was found dead at the resort from an overdose.

Strangely enough, Sylvia Ran wasn’t affected at all.

Looks like she’s got some serious backup.
