How About Your Grandmother

12/19/2025

Lily Xu's gaze turned cold. "No one without a Healer's License has ever joined the Spirit Alliance. Take the exam for your license first, then come back!"

"Hey! You can take the Healer's License exam anytime, but the Spirit Alliance Examination only happens once every three years." It was Elder Conrad who spoke up. "This young lady has the Celestial Five-Element Root—she’s truly rare. Besides, her knowledge of spirit elixirs is obviously far superior to the rest. No need to get hung up on the license."

Lily Xu took a deep breath and finally forced out, "Fine, we'll do as Elder Conrad says!"

Elder Conrad then picked out a few hard-to-identify and rare spirit herbs for Grace to answer, and she got every single one right.

He stroked his beard and nodded, telling Sam Summers, "Excellent."

Sam Summers nodded and recorded her grade as 'Excellent' for this round.

So Grace gave a respectful bow and left, her departure shadowed by Lily Xu's dark expression.

By the time the first round was over, it was almost noon.

So, the second round would be held in the afternoon.

Everyone who had finished went out one after another. Grace also left the Spirit Alliance gates, heading home for lunch.

Just as she stepped out, Grace saw Louis Lin waiting for her.

Grace walked over and asked, "Louis, what are you doing here?"

"The General hasn't returned from the palace yet, so he sent me to ask how your exam went."

"No problem! Tell him not to worry!" Grace smiled. "I just finished the first round and got an 'Excellent!'"

"Haha, that's great! I knew your medical skills were top-notch!" Louis Lin grinned. "But I bet the Imperial Advisor is about to lose his mind again."

Hearing that, Grace suddenly remembered—she still had a bet with Leon Zane!

A bet for one condition.

She needed to think carefully—what should she make him do?

Maybe... she should ask him to marry off her little sister?

Hehe! That idea was just perfect!

After Louis Lin got the update, he left. Grace was just about to get into her carriage when someone called her name: "Grace Lawrence!"

Grace turned around and saw Lily Xu coming out.

Lily Xu strolled over, a half-smile on her lips. "Small world, huh? Who would've thought we'd run into each other again so soon!"

Grace just looked at her and said nothing.

"Oh? What's with that face? Aren't you always grinning? Didn't you say that whenever you see a 'clown,' you can't help but laugh? Well, here you are—why aren't you laughing now?"

Grace: "..."

"Not only are you not laughing, you've gone quiet too? Aren't you supposed to be so talkative? So bold?" Lily Xu raised an eyebrow. "Daughter of the Blue Moon Kingdom's Prime Minister—Grace Lawrence!"

Grace kept silent.

"Hmph! Can't laugh now, can't even talk, huh?" Lily Xu said smugly. "So tell me, Grace Lawrence, do you want to pass the Spirit Alliance Examination?"

"Of course I do," Grace replied.

"But do you really think you can pass?"

"I'm confident in my abilities."

"Abilities?" Lily Xu sneered. "What good are abilities? Power is what really matters! Now, I'm the one testing you. If you want to pass, you have to beg me."

"Beg you? How exactly?"

"Here's the deal, I think you're pretty talented," Lily Xu said. "I'm generous and never hold grudges. All you have to do is kneel and kowtow to me three times, then slap yourself twenty times. Do that, and I won't give you any trouble. How about it?"

Well?

Like hell I will!

After fighting with her for more than ten years in her previous life, Grace knew Lily Xu all too well.

Beautiful as a fairy, but absolutely vindictive.
