"Scholar, who are you?"
Old Blackbeard narrowed his eyes, and as he spoke, the scar on his face twitched, making his already ugly, menacing face look even more vicious.
"I am Ian Song of Songjia Village. Do you remember the couple you killed at the village entrance years ago? They were my parents!" Ian Song said coldly.
Old Blackbeard sneered, "Ha! I've killed so many people I can't even remember them all, let alone some random couple. Scholar, you've got guts, coming alone to my stronghold to make trouble. You really don't know how to write the word 'death!'"
Ian Song shook his head solemnly. "No. Today I've come both to avenge my parents and to rid the people of a scourge!"
"Ha! You think you can do it?"
Old Blackbeard jeered, "Even if I don't lift a finger, my men alone could crush you into mincemeat!"
"Chief, let me take care of this brat!"
A one-eyed bandit, carrying a heavy saber on his shoulder, jumped out and shouted.
"One-Eye Li, kill this brat and I'll reward you with a woman!"
Old Blackbeard nodded. This scholar had broken through five arrow towers, so he clearly had some skill. Letting One-Eye Li test his strength was just what Old Blackbeard wanted.
"Thank you, Chief!"
Delighted, One-Eye Li hefted his saber and strode forward, gripping it with both hands as he swung it down at Ian Song's head.
Although One-Eye Li hadn't condensed inner qi, the power of his strike was already comparable to a martial artist who had. But to Ian Song, it was still nothing worth mentioning.
The saber was about to come down on Ian Song's head.
"Swoosh!"
Ian Song's longsword flashed—a gleam of sword light, a clang, and One-Eye Li's arms went limp as his saber fell to the ground. Then his body toppled, a fine sword mark appearing between his brows.
At this sight,
the other bandits all secretly sucked in a breath. One-Eye Li, despite being blind in one eye, was definitely among the top ten fighters in the stronghold, yet he couldn't even block a single move from the scholar.
Old Blackbeard's expression changed slightly, his eyes narrowing as a murderous glint flashed within.
