Divine Lord, Don’t I Look Fatter Now?
Sean Shaw asked, "We just came from Futi Mountain, so we thought we'd drop by and see the Divine Lord. How have you been lately?"
Soren Lann replied, "About the same as always. How have you two been?"
"We've been very busy," Sean said. "Our two kids are especially naughty! They're always running around with Adrian Drake's child and Divine Lord Tanya Quinn's little phoenix, going anywhere and doing anything they please! Sometimes I can barely focus on state affairs because I have to keep an eye on them."
Soren smiled faintly. "Let Lily watch them! You're the Crown Prince—governance should be your priority."
"Lily's even busier than I am," Sean said.
"Oh? What's keeping her so busy?" Soren glanced at Lily Bai.
Lily was about to say she wasn't actually that busy, but Sean jumped in: "She's busy running the Celestial Palace, the Sigil Sect, her family clan, and the Spirit Alliance. Plus, she has to take care of me."
At this, Sean grinned sweetly. "She often goes out to gather herbs and cooks tonics for me. Divine Lord, don't you think I've gotten a little chubby under her care?"
Soren looked at Sean. The once gloomy youth now seemed much more cheerful, his eyes full of laughter, and his whole presence strikingly radiant.
As for Lily, although she gazed coolly at Sean, the two of them looked surprisingly harmonious and loving together.
Soren laughed, "So the Crown Prince came all this way just to show off to me?"
Sean said, "What are you talking about, Divine Lord? In front of you, there's no need for us to show off! From Lucia, to Lily, haven't you always known everything about us?"
Soren said, "I heard the Crown Prince was in danger recently?"
Sean nodded.
"You must be extra careful," Soren said. "Lily has finally gotten a few peaceful days. If anything happened to you... I can't imagine what would follow."
"Don't worry, Divine Lord," Sean said. "Now that I have a wife and kids, I promise I'll protect myself. But what about you? Everyone's worried you still haven't chosen a Divine Empress. Even Divine Marquis Lann Yin is getting anxious!"
Soren said nothing.
Sean glanced around the cold, empty Radiant Palace. "It really is a bit lonely here. If you had a Divine Empress, some consorts, and kids, maybe some memories would be easier to forget."
"No need to worry, Crown Prince. I'll handle my own affairs."
Sean nodded, then produced a Storage Pouch and said to Soren, "I found this while sorting through Azure Flame's relics the other day. It should be yours."
Soren's eyes narrowed slightly as he took the pouch, saying nothing.
"Then we won't disturb you any longer. Goodbye," Sean said, pulling Lily to her feet as they took their leave of Soren.
Once they left the Radiant Palace, Lily immediately asked Sean, "Why did you come all the way here just to say those things?"
Sean was unfazed. "What things? I only chatted with him for a bit. I didn't say anything inappropriate, did I?"
"Don't play dumb! As if I don't know you!" Lily pouted. "I already feel guilty toward Divine Lord Soren. I don't expect you to feel the same, but at least be a little kinder—don't go stabbing at his heart for no reason!"
"You really misunderstood me. I actually came here just to deliver something," Sean said.
"So, what's inside it?"
Sean: "You want to know?"
Lily: "Can you just stop being mysterious for once?"
"Nope, because I know you're super curious. If I don't take this chance to keep you guessing, when else can I?"
Lily: "Fine, then I just won't ask!"
"Alright then. Let's go home," Sean said, heading off.
"Hey!" Lily chased after him. "Okay, okay! I want to know, alright? Crown Prince, will you please tell me?"
