Ding.
Ding.
Ding.
As the only five-star hotel in River City, the staff quality at Sunwave Bluebay is absolutely top-notch.
Right after Manager Zhang finished speaking into his radio, the elevator on the twenty-third floor kept chiming, and staff began arriving one after another, striding quickly toward the main hall.
In no time, all 168 staff—including cleaners, front desk, and security—had assembled, lining up neatly in two rows.
"Manager Zhang! I’ll remember this! Just you wait!" Simon Zuo realized things were going south, snorted coldly, and turned to leave.
But Manager Zhang’s face turned cold. He glanced at the security guards and ordered icily, "Stop him!"
Immediately, several burly guards stepped forward, one on each side, and lifted Simon Zuo right off the ground.
"What the hell are you trying to do? I know your deputy GM, I know Summer Jay and Summer Jade! Believe it or not, I’ll call right now and get you all fired!"
Simon Zuo struggled desperately, looking like a panicked chicken.
"Sorry, Young Master Zuo, maybe you still don’t understand just what kind of authority comes with a top-tier VIP card. So far, only three people have ever had one. Whoever holds that card is, in a sense, not just a VIP of Sunwave Bluebay, but a real heavyweight in the entire Summer Group. Even Summer Jay and Summer Jade don’t have as much pull as this gentleman here."
Manager Zhang spoke with utter seriousness, his tone slow and deliberate.
As soon as he finished, Simon Zuo’s face went pale. "I’m from the Zuo family! You dare lay a hand on me?"
He really hadn’t expected Evan Lin’s card to have such terrifying privileges at Sunwave Bluebay—the kind that go way beyond anything a normal membership could mean.
"Sorry, Young Master Zuo, but this is Sunwave Bluebay, not the Zuo family’s turf." Manager Zhang shook his head slightly, then snorted coldly. "Do it! Line up—four slaps each!"
As soon as Manager Zhang gave the order, the cleaners stepped up first, one by one.
Simon Zuo struggled with all his might, but he couldn’t move.
The two burly guards’ arms were like iron clamps, holding him firmly in place.
"Bro!" Vincent Wen’s face changed wildly—he rushed forward to pull the guards away, but they knocked him to the floor without even trying.
Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!
The first cleaning auntie stepped forward, still gripping her mop in her left hand, and without hesitation, landed four crisp slaps right across Simon Zuo's face.
Simon Zuo was stunned, his expression blank.
As soon as she finished, another staff member stepped up and delivered another four slaps to Simon Zuo's face.
One after another, the staff lined up to take their turn.
At first, Simon Zuo was furious, but as the slaps kept coming, his whole face went numb, his eyes lost all their light, and he looked utterly defeated.
"Aren't they hitting him a bit too hard?"
Watching Simon Zuo being held up and beaten like a stray dog, Rachel Liu couldn't help but feel a little conflicted inside.
On one hand, she couldn't understand how Evan Lin could possibly own such a high-level VIP card.
On the other hand, she was shocked at how decisively Evan ordered the staff to slap Simon Zuo. Did he not know about leaving people some dignity?
"Can you make them stop? This could get out of hand. What if things go too far?"
Even though Rachel Liu wasn't fond of Simon Zuo, she still knew him—and her mom was on good terms with his family. Seeing him get beaten like this, she felt she should do something.
Manager Zhang glanced at Evan Lin when he heard that.
"Continue."
Evan's expression stayed icy, his eyes calm and clear. He didn't even bother to acknowledge Rachel.
Rachel bit her lip, then finally sighed and stopped trying to intervene.
One after another, the staff kept stepping up to slap Simon Zuo.
The entire hall was silent except for the constant sound of slaps.
By the end, Simon Zuo's face was so swollen he looked like a cartoon pig's head.
Vincent Wen and Leon Chen went pale as ghosts.
Owen Ou and Allen Zeng now looked at Evan Lin with open fear in their eyes.
Sisi Shao's expression was complicated; Claire Sheng's eyes went wide, her mouth slightly open in disbelief.
Nina Pei looked at Simon Zuo—just moments ago, he'd been all swagger and style, but now his face was ruined. The so-called River City elites, who'd just been bragging about cars, watches, and mansions, were all silent, scared stiff, terrified they'd be next.
Compared to them, Evan Lin, standing calmly nearby, was on a whole other level.
After everyone had finished slapping Simon Zuo, the guards let go. Simon collapsed to the floor like a pile of mud, unable to even stand.
"Sir, are you satisfied now?" Manager Zhang turned, smiling nervously at Evan Lin, worried he might want even more.
"That's enough. Now, throw the whole group out."
Evan nodded, then looked at Claire Sheng with a gentle smile. "If you still want to stay and have fun, that's fine. If you need anything, just ask the manager."
Manager Zhang immediately caught on and nodded. "Miss, if you need anything at all, just let me know."
Manager Zhang then swept his gaze over the rest, his face turning stern. "As for everyone else—get them out!"
The security guards didn't hesitate and moved in at once.
Vincent Wen, Leon Chen, and the others immediately looked nervous and uneasy.
"They're all my classmates. Can't you let them off?"
Claire Sheng stepped forward. Even if she'd been annoyed by their words earlier, these were still her classmates. She couldn't just stand by and watch.
She looked at Evan Lin, who shook his head. "No."
Without another word, Evan turned and walked toward the elevator, planning to check out the twenty-fourth floor.
After everything that happened, Evan didn't feel like returning to his cheap inn. He decided to stay here for the night.
His suite still held the Soul-Sacrifice Beauty Scroll, but Evan wasn't worried about anyone sneaking in to steal it.
As Evan walked away, Manager Zhang signaled the guards, and in no time, everyone except Claire Sheng and Rachel Liu was dragged or driven out of Sunwave Bluebay.
