Adrian’s Poison Is Cured

1/4/2026

"Why is she staying over there so long?" Lily Bai asked.

"I asked her the same thing. She told me not to meddle," Sean Shaw said helplessly. "Her seniority is too high—if she says not to interfere, I can't really push it."

Lily Bai thought for a moment and said, "I'll go to the Radiant Palace myself, expose her identity, and drag her back."

"Why?"

Divination is a heavenly secret—if it's not necessary, it's best not to reveal it to ordinary people. Lily Bai shook her head, "Just let it go."

Sean Shaw was silent for a moment, then pulled her into his arms. "Little rascal! Do you really think your rank is higher than mine? Daring to talk to your husband like that?"

Lily Bai blinked at him. "Isn't my status at home higher than yours?"

Sean's eyes turned a little wicked. "You want to be on top?"

Lily Bai smacked him hard. "I'm being serious!"

Sean finally got serious. "Fine, you can go—but take Adrian Drake with you."

"You really don't trust me that much?"

"Not at all," Sean Shaw replied. "Once things calm down, wherever you go, I'll follow."

Lily Bai: "...Is it too late for me to regret marrying you?"

"Way too late..." Sean Shaw gazed at her with naked adoration. "From the moment I first saw you, it was already too late."

...

Sean Shaw assigned an official task to Adrian Drake: deliver a Celestial Palace dispatch to Soren Lann.

Lily Bai hid inside Adrian Drake's Life-pouch. When he went to meet Soren Lann, she slapped an Invisibility Talisman onto Azure Flame.

By tomorrow at the latest, she'll be forced to reveal her true form.

Once that happens, she definitely won't be able to stay at the Radiant Palace.

After delivering the documents, the two of them headed to a cave at the foot of Heavenly Pool Mountain.

Sure enough, on the mud wall where the Golden Immortal Swallow Nest used to be, they found some lichen-like plants.

She brought it back to the Spirit Alliance, where Lily Bai tried several methods of processing it and used it on Adrian Drake.

And unbelievably, it actually cured his poison!

Adrian Drake was so happy he literally bounced around.

Seriously... he hadn't been this happy in a hundred years!

Then Adrian Drake started pestering Lily Bai to bring Luna Lian over.

"What do you want her for?" Lily Bai asked coolly.

"Obviously... obviously... I want to share the good news with her," Adrian Drake said, his eyes darting.

"You know how she feels about you," Lily Bai said. "If you don't mean it, stop provoking her. She's almost forgotten about you! Don't go stirring up her feelings again."

"Forgot...forgotten? She's really going to forget me?" Adrian Drake yelped.

"Yeah! What else did you expect?"

"How could she possibly forget me?"

Lily Bai said nothing.

"She... she..." Adrian Drake paced in circles. "Has she already forgotten me, or is she about to?"

"So what if she's already forgotten? So what if she's about to forget?"

Adrian Drake thought for a long time, then said, "Whether she's already forgotten or about to forget, just call her over. I have something I want to say to her."

"If you want to tell her you like her, I'll call her. But if you're just going to say you don't like her... is there any point in saying that?" Lily Bai asked.

"Sister..." Adrian Drake, thin-skinned and embarrassed, tugged at Lily Bai's sleeve, trying to act cute.

"Tsk tsk tsk!" Lily Bai snatched her sleeve back, then connected to Luna Lian and told her she was at the Spirit Alliance, asking her to come over.

"Sis, I probably can't make it right now," Luna Lian said.

"Why not?" Lily Bai asked Luna Lian.

"The Queen Dowager just arrived at my family's house. She wants to arrange a marriage for me."

Lily Bai: "...Does Divine Lord Soren Lann know? Did you agree?"

"He knows," Luna Lian replied, sounding a bit resigned. "The Queen Dowager said he didn't object. I didn't plan to object either. Sooner or later I have to get married—does it really matter who?"
