Mo Yang’s Crisis

2/14/2026

Big Tank was driving, giving Evan Lin a rundown on the latest project developments in Whitewood County.

Everything is moving along smoothly. Thomas Liu is backing us strongly, and the whole project is jumpstarting the local economy, plus we’ve landed a bunch of government perks.

Thomas Liu has asked about you several times, but Big Tank never dared say much. When it comes to Master Lin’s real identity, he keeps his mouth shut—better safe than sorry.

Besides that, Thomas Liu even went out of his way to talk with Education Bureau chief Victor Deng. Now, with Joy Zheng teaching at school and running her after-class tutoring, nobody dares stir up trouble anymore.

As for Flora Huang at school, she went from always giving Joy Zheng dirty looks to suddenly bending over backwards to help. She’s even thinking about letting Ivy Deng spend more time with Evan Lin, just to get to know him better.

She’s finally realized Evan Lin isn’t as simple as he seems. All in all, Joy Zheng’s life is peaceful and happy now—nobody’s causing her any trouble.

“I’m not interested in the project details. Handle things however you want. If anything actually goes wrong, just let me know.”

Evan Lin nodded.

“Oh, and those two you left behind—Shawn Shi and Donny D—they’ve been busy training a bunch of fighters. They’re the ones we took to Clearstream County today.”

Big Tank drove carefully, speaking with obvious caution.

“Those guys are still trash—just a bit better than your old crew,” Evan Lin mused. “Later, bring Shawn Shi and Donny D over. I’ll teach you all a simple cultivation method.”

Big Tank’s face lit up, eyes brimming with tears—he was this close to dropping to his knees and kowtowing to Evan Lin right then and there.

He knew perfectly well how fierce Evan Lin was. Master Lin, who shook all of Seacrest, was no ordinary man.

Big Tank might look important now, but deep down he still felt insecure. Just hearing that he could learn anything from Master Lin had him grinning from ear to ear.

They drove into a villa community. After parking, Big Tank went to call Shawn Shi and Donny D over.

When they heard Master Lin was about to teach some cultivation, Shawn Shi and Donny D didn’t hesitate for a second—they rushed over, scared they’d miss out.

“Master Lin!”

As soon as they arrived, Shawn Shi and Donny D bowed respectfully to Evan Lin.

“I might be leaving soon. Before I go, I’ll teach you a body-forging art. If you practice well, advancing your cultivation will just be a matter of time.”

Evan Lin spoke calmly, almost indifferent.

“Watch closely!”

As soon as Evan Lin finished speaking, he shifted his left foot forward, clenched his fist, and punched out at a strange angle. His body flowed forward like a swimming fish, following the punch, with faint shockwaves rippling through the air.

The whole sequence was fluid and majestic—like a tiger’s roar, a monkey’s cry, or an eagle striking the earth.

After finishing the set, Evan Lin stopped, glanced at Shawn Shi and the others, and spoke calmly.

“This is the Qi Source Body-Forging Art. It uses the body’s joint nodes as supports, letting your muscles fully relax before condensing physical power and qi into one force.”

“Shawn, when you can feel all your body’s strength collapsing onto the single point at your fist, that’s when you’ve stepped into true Inner Strength.”

This was the same Qi Source Body-Forging Art Evan Lin had taught to Sheng Haiyang before. It focused more on channeling qi and power, and didn’t require much raw physical strength or top-tier attributes.

Shawn Shi and Donny D both had some martial foundation, but Big Tank’s body was weak—he’d need extra practice. With time, even Big Tank could truly step onto the martial path!

Evan Lin stood with his hands behind his back, eyes cold and indifferent.

Shawn Shi and the others were visibly excited and hurried to thank him.

With their current skill, they couldn’t grasp the deeper secrets, but Shawn Shi tried copying the moves right away. His actions were stiff and imperfect, but when he finished, his whole body felt like it was burning with fire—overflowing with power!

Evan Lin didn’t linger. Big Tank drove his Hummer to the airport and bought Evan a first-class ticket.

On the way, Big Tank chatted about recent happenings in Seacrest. Word is, the Ding family in Sunrise City is expanding fast, even sending people to cozy up to Big Tank and quietly ask about Evan Lin’s whereabouts—but Big Tank kept quiet.

Then there’s Medicine King Valley. Lately, rumor has it they’ve got a new Valley Master, but the sect’s been closed off for a while, making the new boss seem even more mysterious.

As for Master Lin flattening Medicine King Valley, that story’s already gone viral in Seacrest—there’s no one left who hasn’t heard his name.

“But I heard there’s trouble with the Zuo family in River City.” Big Tank’s brow twitched as he said it.

Seeing Evan Lin silent, Big Tank went on: “That River City’s Number One, Drake Huang, who you killed—his master, Grandmaster Mo Yang, is rumored to be coming out of seclusion soon.”

“Back in the day, Grandmaster Mo Yang crushed every strongman in Seacrest—he was undefeated. Drake Huang was his final disciple. If Mo Yang really returns, it could be bad news for you…”

Big Tank didn’t dare say more.

Mo Yang is the kind of monster who founded entire schools. Even with Master Lin at his peak, if he really has to face that legendary, retired Grandmaster Mo Yang, who knows who’d win.

“Want me to take care of the Zuo family now? If we wipe them out, even if Grandmaster Mo Yang comes back, he won’t figure out what happened right away.”

A ruthless look flashed across Big Tank’s face. Back in the day, he wouldn’t have dared even think about it—after all, the Zuo family was a River City powerhouse, and he was just a farm boy turned small-time thug.

“No need.”

Evan Lin shook his head, leaning back in his seat. "If Mo Yang really shows up, that’s a fight worth having."

“I just hope he’s a little stronger. Otherwise, finishing him in one move would be too boring.”

Evan Lin’s casual words were so full of confidence that Big Tank instantly felt reassured—as if a huge weight had been lifted from his heart.

At Brightsea City’s airport, Evan Lin wouldn’t let Big Tank escort him any further. He shouldered his bag, picked up his ticket, and boarded the flight to Capitalview.

Mo Yang—according to legend, before going into seclusion, he was already at first-grade Vajra. Maybe after breaking through, he’s gone even higher.

What’s above first-grade Vajra? Hope he doesn’t disappoint me.

Evan Lin muttered to himself, gazing out the plane window, face calm as ever.

“Still, once I get to Capitalview, I owe Auntie Lu a meal.”
