The Miserable Big Tank

2/14/2026

"Kid, you dare steal my little brother's woman? You must be tired of living. Damn it, leave the woman here and hand over ten thousand yuan, and I'll let you off." Big Tank glared at Evan Lin, his face covered in flabby flesh that quivered as he spoke.

Because his face was so fat, Big Tank's eyes were nearly reduced to slits.

"Evan Lin, let's see how cocky you are now!" Jack Zhang was also looking smug, his gaze at Lily Zhong filled with resentment.

If it weren't for Lily Zhong, Jack Zhang wouldn't have ended up in such a miserable state.

But thinking that after Big Tank had his fun, he could get a turn himself, Jack Zhang's heart burned with excitement.

However, before Evan Lin could reply, Big Tank stepped forward with a sinister grin, his body barely moving yet.

Charlie Liang, his face wrapped in gauze, suddenly ran out.

"Brother Charlie! Why are you out here?" Big Tank was briefly stunned to see Charlie Liang, forgot all about Evan Lin, and hurried over with a fawning grin.

Behind him, Jack Zhang was confused by Big Tank's behavior. He glanced at Jace, only to see that Jace was also wearing a humble, sycophantic smile.

But Charlie Liang didn't even glance at Big Tank. He walked right past him, jogged up to Evan Lin, and said with a friendly smile, "Sorry, brother, I forgot to ask earlier—would it be convenient for you to leave your contact info?"

"Bro?"

Hearing Charlie Liang’s voice, Big Tank’s face froze for a second.

"Hey, Charlie bro, are you sure you’re not getting played here? This kid’s just a broke student." Big Tank snapped back to reality, seeing Charlie act all respectful toward Evan Lin. He hurried up, looking at Charlie.

Charlie turned his head and finally noticed Big Tank standing there, his fat face sticking out.

"Oh, it’s you, Big Tank. What are you doing here?" Charlie’s face turned serious. He never had much patience for anyone else.

"I brought my boys to settle a score. This kid beat up my guy—look, his head and hand got hurt by this punk!" Big Tank complained, looking all indignant.

"Settle a score?"

Charlie raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, this kid right here!" Jack Zhang stepped up, pointing at Evan Lin’s nose. "This jerk—he’s just a broke student, and he’s even hooking up with his own teacher!"

Jack Zhang’s face was flushed bright red.

"Jack Zhang, watch your mouth!" Lily Zhong snapped, her face darkening.

"What did I say that’s wrong, Miss Zhong? You’re meeting your own student at a place like this during class hours—what are you up to?"

"Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on between you two. You’re just a pair of dirty cheats. Once I tell the school, let’s see how you keep your job!"

Jack Zhang sneered at Lily Zhong.

Lily Zhong was furious, but helpless.

If the school found out, true or not, she’d never be able to stay. The rumors alone would be enough to cost Lily her job.

Watching Lily’s panic, Jack Zhang couldn’t help feeling smug.

But before Jack Zhang could laugh, Charlie Liang, who hadn’t spoken, shot him a cold look. "You said ‘this kind of place’—what kind of place?"

"What, Imperial Grand isn’t good enough for you? Which crew are you with, man? Big Tank, is this one of your guys?" Charlie turned to Big Tank.

"He... he’s my guy Jace’s friend." Big Tank hesitated, seeing Charlie’s unhappy face.

"Oh, so Jace’s friend is real bold, huh? Looking down on Imperial Grand, is that it?" Charlie slapped Big Tank on the head.

The slap was heavy, making a dull thud. Big Tank’s head dropped like a scolded schoolboy.

Big Tank managed a bar under Imperial Grand in Peaceview, but neither his men nor his status could compare to Charlie’s.

"Charlie bro, it’s not what you think. That kid really is just a broke student—maybe you’re getting played?" Big Tank tried to argue, but Charlie was fuming and slapped him again.

How can this fat idiot still not get what’s going on?

"Broke student? Broke my ass—he’s Victor Yu’s honored guest!" As soon as Charlie said it, Big Tank finally understood.

"Holy crap! Victor Yu’s honored guest!" Big Tank looked terrified, then strode over to Jack Zhang like a mountain.

Before Jack Zhang could react, Big Tank swung a short, brutal kick right into his chest.

The kick was fierce—Jack Zhang flew three meters, clutching his stomach, lying on the ground.

After kicking Jack Zhang, Big Tank slapped Jace hard. "Damn it, look at the friends you make! You dare mess with Victor Yu’s people!"

"You guys, drag those two over and beat them!" Big Tank roared. The rest snapped to, hauling Jack Zhang and Jace aside and kicking them.

"Sorry, sorry, my bad, totally my fault. Bro, don’t take it personally, okay?" Big Tank grinned at Evan Lin.

If it was just Charlie, Big Tank might argue. But Victor Yu’s name? Not a chance.

Anyone who pissed off Victor Yu, Imperial Grand or not, always ended up screwed.

"So, bro, does this work for you?" Charlie Liang smiled. "Big Tank runs the Imperial Grand bar in your district, so how about letting him manage a venue for you? He’ll be your backup."

"I’ll tell Victor Yu myself. I’m sure he won’t mind."

Big Tank was secretly annoyed, but kept his face blank.

Under someone else’s roof, you gotta bow your head—Big Tank might be fat, but he got that much.

He just couldn’t figure out why Charlie was acting so humble. Even Victor Yu’s guests didn’t usually get this treatment.

What kind of person was Victor Yu? How could he have a guest like this?

Maybe he’s some distant broke relative of Victor Yu?

Big Tank’s mind was racing.

"That’s it for now. Go tell him to get what I asked for ready. And you can call me Lin Jiuxuan—come find me when it’s time."

Evan Lin finished and looked over at Big Tank, his gaze cold. "As for you, keep your men and their friends in line."

"If anyone talks about what happened tonight, I’ll wipe you out first."

His voice was chilling, totally emotionless.

Big Tank’s fat face twitched for some reason.

After Evan Lin and Lily Zhong left, Big Tank finally dared to look at Charlie Liang, whose eyes were deep in thought.

Charlie Liang’s smile was gone, replaced by a look of serious contemplation.

"Charlie bro, who is that guy, really?" Big Tank whispered.

Charlie Liang didn’t answer. He just tapped his bandaged head. "Here—he’s the one who hit it."

Five words. Big Tank froze, then his face changed completely.
