Taking Lucas Lin to the Bidding Competition

1/4/2026

"Nervous? Why would you be nervous?"

"Because I'm afraid I won't be good enough for you. If we were both in the entertainment industry, I'd be confident I could match you."

Hearing Lucas Lin's answer, Rona Muir was momentarily at a loss for words.

"I probably won't ever be richer than you in this lifetime." Lucas Lin sighed. "So if you were in showbiz, wouldn't that be great? I’d work hard to hone my acting skills until I became a movie king, then I could protect you."

After saying that, Lucas Lin even winked playfully.

Rona Muir just felt her heart was in chaos, like the surging Yellow River—an indescribable mess.

Luckily, she was several years older than him, or else she really would have been swept away by his sweet talk.

No wonder Zoey Chow kept him around for so long—there’s a reason for it.

"That mouth of yours is way too sweet." Rona Muir looked at him, speechless. "If you want to win over a girl, she’d have no defense against you."

"What about you? Have I won you over yet?" Lucas Lin fixed his gaze on Rona Muir, eyes burning with a mix of anxiety and longing.

"Aren't you winning me over right now?" Rona Muir gave him a charming smile, dazzling Lucas Lin.

Daylight slowly crept in.

The sanitation workers were starting their shift.

But the sunflowers didn’t seem ready to turn their heads yet.

They couldn’t keep sitting there any longer. Soon, more people would show up, and Lucas Lin really wouldn’t be able to leave.

No helping it—his popularity was just too high these days.

Rona Muir glanced at the still-drooping sunflowers and couldn’t help but say, "What a shame. We waited all night and didn’t see them turn their heads."

"Watch me." Then Lucas Lin stood up and forcibly twisted the sunflower’s head himself.

Rona Muir: "..."

"Quick, people are coming." As soon as Lucas Lin looked up, he saw a group of joggers coming down the road. He hurriedly gathered everything off the ground, took down the tent, stuffed it into the bag, and threw everything into the trunk in one go, then dragged Rona Muir into the car as fast as he could.

As soon as Rona Muir walked in the door at home, she was greeted by Molly Yun and Cecilia Gu's curious, gossipy stares.

Molly Yun smiled and said, "So this is your way of shutting us up?"

Rona Muir immediately understood that Molly Yun was referring to last night and burst out laughing. "Come on! Lucas Lin is several years younger than me. I just treat him like a little brother, I have no intention of taking advantage of him."

"The king wants, but the goddess is indifferent," Cecilia Gu said bluntly, taking the breakfast from Rona Muir and laying out a whole table of food. "Honestly, it's pitiful."

"Since you know you're married, when do you plan to go back?" Molly Yun, with Cecilia Gu's help, came to the table and elegantly ate breakfast. "Nana, Pingshan's learned his lesson by now."

"Alright, as long as you know what you're doing." Molly Yun understood what Rona Muir meant, so she just gave her a reminder and moved on. "By the way, the bid documents are all ready. Nana, this round is yours."

"I heard there are a lot of competitors this time. Our strongest rival is the Zhou family," Cecilia Gu said. "That's Zoey Chow's brother, Zhou Mang—the playboy of the family, thirty years old, surrounded by women, but never settled down."

Cecilia Gu said, "This bid will decide whether Danni Cosmetics can make it into the top tier domestically. I'll go with you."

"Don't worry," Molly Yun said with a smile. "I'm still early in my pregnancy, so it won't affect my work."
