Gates Shattered, Demon Sovereigns Enraged

Bastor nodded. At first, he had resented this stranger, Evan Yang, but after their recent interactions—and especially seeing how Evan treated him with courtesy—his prejudice gradually faded. Besides, if Evan could help him restore the Spatial Demon Wheel, that would be the best outcome.

Led by Bastor, Evan Yang passed through Deadwillow City. Along the way, Evan saw many crazed people inside the city. After learning the reason, he could only feel helpless—he was different from them, and there was nothing he could do to help.

"I'm really curious—how come you're completely fine?" Bastor asked as he led Evan Yang. "I have a technique that lets me ignore the magnetic field here," Evan replied.

Bastor was intrigued by Evan Yang's ability—it was the first time he'd ever heard of such a technique. Driven by curiosity, he brought Evan straight to the city center.

At the center, there was a barrier. Inside, something was floating.

That thing was a wheel, its surface covered with densely packed characters that no one could read.

"What do these characters mean?" Evan Yang asked.

"These are the glyphs on the Spatial Demon Wheel. I can't read them either," Bastor said. "But according to my master, just changing the positions of these characters can throw the space governed by the wheel into chaos."

Evan Yang was intrigued. "Oh? Is that really possible?"

"Yeah. I looked closely and found two spots that had been tampered with. I suspect those are exactly where that Titus Skyflood you mentioned made changes. If you want to restore spatial balance, you have to return those two places to their original positions," Bastor explained.

"How do you change them?" Evan Yang asked.

"You have to go inside and move them with your hands. But it's dangerous—while you're in there, the chaotic space could hurt you," Bastor warned.

"Alright, I'll go take a look. You wait outside," Evan Yang said after thinking it over.

"Be careful. The force from spatial chaos is extremely dangerous," Bastor reminded Evan Yang.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of myself," Evan Yang replied.

With that, Evan Yang resolutely stepped inside. Once in, he found himself surrounded by pitch darkness—he couldn't see anything outside, though those outside could still see in. This puzzled Evan Yang greatly.

Inside, Evan Yang examined the Spatial Demon Wheel. Now, up close, the wheel looked enormous—what had seemed palm-sized from outside now towered before him, as big as ten people standing together.

Staring at the wheel, Evan Yang flew up and went straight to the two spots that had been altered.

"I really don't get how Titus Skyflood could understand these characters," Evan Yang wondered. Even Bastor couldn't read them, so how could Titus Skyflood? The question nagged at him.

But now wasn't the time to overthink it. Evan Yang's priority was to restore those two glyphs to their original positions.

Evan Yang grabbed a glyph in each hand, carefully moving them bit by bit back to their original positions. Instantly, a terrifying wind howled all around him, like ghosts wailing and wolves howling—utterly frightening.

That wind was so intense, it felt like it could tear a person to shreds.

Naturally, Evan Yang was affected too, but he moved quickly. As soon as he finished adjusting the two glyphs, he immediately hid inside his Strange Spiral Shell to avoid the disaster brought by the chaotic space.

He waited until the chaos faded, then emerged from the Strange Spiral Shell. Seeing the Spatial Demon Wheel restored to its original state, Evan Yang smiled and said, "Done. I wonder how those gates are doing now."

In the Immortal Realm, chaos erupted. Because of Evan Yang's actions, all the gates connecting the Devil Realm and Immortal Realm were sealed. Devil Realm cultivators could no longer enter the Immortal Realm, and those already inside suddenly found their strength cut in half—just like Immortal Realm cultivators are suppressed when entering the Devil Realm.

The Devil Realm experts instantly realized something was terribly wrong—the gates between realms had closed. They were baffled: not only had the gates opened early, they'd also shut so quickly. Titus Skyflood and his allies snapped open their eyes, sensing disaster.

"Damn it! That brat really went to Deadwillow City and messed up my plans!" Titus Skyflood shouted in shock and fury.

"What do we do now? With the gates closed, our strength is crippled. There's no way we can fight the Immortal Realm Sovereigns," one Demon Sovereign said.

"Damn it—retreat!" Titus Skyflood roared. His carefully planned invasion of the Immortal Realm had been crushed at the last moment.

Hearing Titus Skyflood's command, the Demon Sovereigns were unwilling, but they had no choice. If they didn't leave now, they'd be discovered by the Immortal Realm experts—and then escape would be impossible.

Seeing the looks on everyone's faces, Titus Skyflood ordered, "Send the command to assemble! Open the backup gate for retreat. This gate will only stay open for a few breaths—if anyone can't make it in time, they'll have to stay in the Immortal Realm."

With that, Titus Skyflood dispelled the formation in front of him, stepped outside, and glared at the sky in fury. "Evan Yang, just you wait. I'll be back soon—you won't escape me!" he seethed.

Soon, because the gates had closed, all the Devil Realm cultivators gathered on a single planet. Titus Skyflood took out an artifact—a circular ring etched with dragon patterns.

He threw the ring into the air, and a gate appeared. "Time is short—go in!" he commanded, leading the way. Without hesitation, the others followed, and most of the Devil Realm cultivators quickly returned to their realm through the ring.

Once back in the Devil Realm, the first thing Titus Skyflood did was lead his people straight toward Deadwillow City.

After restoring the Spatial Demon Wheel, Evan Yang came outside and smiled at Bastor. "It's done. I should be going now."

"Thank you. I never thought you'd actually succeed," Bastor said. He'd expected Evan Yang to be affected by the chaos, but he came out looking completely unharmed.

"Just lucky," Evan Yang laughed.

"Thanks for your help. Now I can finally face my master without shame," Bastor said.

"I have a question: if Titus Skyflood comes back and tries to change things again, is there any way to stop him?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.

"He can't come back. The Spatial Demon Wheel can only be altered a limited number of times within a set period. That limit's already been reached. Even if he returns, he won't be able to move it," Bastor explained.

"I see. That's a relief. In that case, I'll take my leave," Evan Yang said.

"Let me see you off," Bastor said.

"You changed the terrain, so it's a bit tricky for me to get out. I'll need you to lead the way," Evan Yang said awkwardly.

"Sorry about that. Sometimes a fight is what brings people together," Bastor smiled.

"Yeah, that's true. Haha, let's go," Evan Yang laughed.

With that, Bastor led Evan Yang back the way they came. The route had changed, but as the guardian of this place, Bastor knew the way and quickly brought Evan back to where he'd entered.

But just as they reached the outside, Evan Yang saw pairs of angry eyes glaring at him.

"I didn't expect everyone to be here to welcome me," Evan Yang joked. Bastor glanced at the crowd and recognized one as the person who'd previously tampered with the Spatial Demon Wheel. He was furious—if Evan hadn't stopped him, he would've rushed forward.

"Evan Yang, I didn't expect you to not only enter Deadwillow City, but also tamper with that thing. Impressive," Titus Skyflood said angrily.

"If you could do it, so could I. Is there a problem with that?" Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"You won't escape today, no matter what! Or do you plan to use your Teleportation Pen again? Hmph, it's useless here," Titus Skyflood sneered.

Evan Yang tried, but found he really couldn't use the Teleportation Pen here. Bastor explained that the strange magnetic field around Deadwillow City interfered with spatial artifacts—even those near the city were affected.

That made Evan Yang realize why Titus Skyflood wasn't worried about him escaping.

"True, I can't use it—but that doesn't mean you can catch me. Bastor, let's go," Evan Yang urged, and Bastor led the way toward Deadwillow City.

Titus Skyflood snorted, "Everyone, after him! No matter what, we must capture Evan Yang."

At first, the Demon Sovereigns hesitated—Deadwillow City was a place even they feared. But Titus Skyflood said, "What are you afraid of? The willows are controlled by the man with Evan Yang. As long as I subdue him, you'll be fine. Now, hurry and chase them!"

Hearing this, the crowd immediately gave chase. Bastor controlled the willows, making them move, but Titus Skyflood was so fast that he quickly caught up to Evan Yang and Bastor.

The others got lost, but Titus Skyflood wasn't worried—once he controlled Bastor, everything would be fine. He sneered, "Guardian, we meet again."

"Damn it. Last time you tricked me, but this time I won't lose," Bastor said.

"Really? You couldn't even handle Evan Yang, and now you think you can take me on? Ridiculous. I can't understand why you'd side with an outsider," Titus Skyflood sneered.

"Who I befriend is none of your business. If you've got guts, follow me into Deadwillow City!" Bastor retorted.

"Deadwillow City? What's the point now? The Spatial Demon Wheel's been ruined. I'm not interested in the city anymore—I'm interested in your lives. Today, I'll send you both to your deaths," Titus Skyflood sneered.

"I'm the guardian here. If you want to kill me, you'll have to get through me first!" Bastor declared.

Evan Yang sent a message to Bastor: "You should hide using your old method. Leave him to me."

Bastor glanced at Evan Yang, knowing he must have a plan. He hid with his hound, leaving Evan Yang to face Titus Skyflood alone.
