Ember Yang always listened to Evan Yang, so she naturally had no objections. She said, "Dad, whatever you need, just say it. I'll do whatever you ask."
"First, without my permission, you're not allowed to fight the Mad Alchemist alone. Second, without my permission, you're not allowed to secretly investigate the Mad Alchemist. Third, you must listen to me in everything, or I won't take you." Evan Yang repeated these conditions to restrict Ember Yang—this was the most direct way to keep her safe.
Ember Yang was stunned for a moment by all these rules, but since she was anxious to find that person, she agreed right away, "Okay."
"I hope you really mean it," Evan Yang said.
Ember Yang smiled, but secretly muttered, "If it comes to it, I'll just investigate in secret."
Evan Yang had no idea what Ember Yang was thinking. He was already preparing to head to a strange sect in the Chaos World called Medicine King Heaven.
This sect was located in the western part of the Chaos World, quite far from where they were. It would take several months to get there, so Evan Yang and the others rode the Flame Behemoth toward their destination. On the road, Ember Yang couldn't sit still, constantly asking when they'd arrive.
Everyone understood how anxious she was, but there was nothing they could do—their speed was already the fastest possible. Especially since the Flame Behemoth was incredibly fast, and Evan Yang had also reinforced it with his own power, making it go even faster.
Sometimes Ember Yang wondered why they couldn't just arrive instantly. She asked herself this over and over, but in the end, she could only sit there helplessly, not knowing what to do, and just stared blankly.
Seeing Ember Yang spacing out, Evan Yang didn't disturb her. It was still better than her chattering non-stop, asking the same question thousands of times a day.
And so, the group made their way through the Chaos World toward Medicine King Heaven.
Elsewhere, outside the Shattered Stream, Ethan Xiao saw someone. This person had eyebrows that arched upward, strange markings on the right side of his face, and numerous overlapping shadows behind him—a sign of immense Heavenly Dao power.
"Senior Mei." Ethan Xiao greeted respectfully when he saw the former sect master.
"Ethan Xiao, we received your message and we're all furious. What happened? When I handed Golden Heaven Temple to you, I told you the temple must never decline. But you lost, and lost so badly." Senior Mei—Marcus Mei—frowned as he spoke.
"Senior Mei, that guy's power was too strange, and he had the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. That's why I couldn't beat him," Ethan Xiao explained.
"The Soul-Devouring Divine Sword? How did he get that? It's a heaven-defying artifact! And don't you have the Howling Moon Sword? Even if he can't unleash the sword's full power, your Howling Moon Sword should be able to block his normal attacks." Marcus Mei was shocked at first, then became suspicious.
Ethan Xiao gave a bitter smile and explained the whole battle. When Marcus Mei finished listening, he frowned, "You said his blood was green? And he could heal wounds rapidly?"
"Yeah, that's right. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten caught off guard and struck." Ethan Xiao said with a bitter smile.
"And the message you sent said he was only at the Immortal Sovereign realm?" Marcus Mei frowned.
"That's right, it's true. But I have no idea why his power was so terrifying when he erupted." Ethan Xiao said, confused.
"If there really is someone like this in the world, I need to see for myself. Come on, let's go back to Golden Heaven Temple," Marcus Mei said.
Ethan Xiao was naturally delighted to have Marcus Mei return with him—after all, Marcus Mei had completely left the Human Dao and stepped into the Heavenly Dao.
But when they returned to the Golden Heaven Temple's world-realm, both were stunned—especially Marcus Mei, who roared in anger, "What happened here?"
"Everything was fine when I left. How could this happen? I'll go ask around." Ethan Xiao hadn't expected that all the buildings of Golden Heaven Temple had been destroyed, with only the Heaven-Shaker Tower still standing.
Soon, Ethan Xiao found the remaining people of Golden Heaven Temple. After learning the whole story, he angrily went to Marcus Mei and said, "Senior Mei, it was the Nether Sky Realm. They suddenly brought a huge force. I saw them before, and it turns out they really came to loot us."
"Damn it, the Nether Sky Realm is getting more and more outrageous. Come with me." Marcus Mei was furious and took Ethan Xiao with him.
Not knowing where they were headed, Ethan Xiao could only follow Marcus Mei. Soon, they arrived at a world-realm filled with Nether-Origin Force—one of the main realms of the Nether Sky Realm.
As soon as Marcus Mei arrived in that world-realm, he shouted, "Old Ghost Nether, get out here!"
His voice was loud. The ten Nether Sky Realm lords who had been resting heard it and were furious at first, but when they realized he was calling Old Ghost Nether—a famous Heavenly Dao expert in their realm—they all came out to see what was happening.
At that moment, a cloud of black smoke came from afar and finally appeared before Marcus Mei and Ethan Xiao. With his hands behind his back, Graham Nether looked at Marcus Mei and said, "Marcus Mei, if you’re not cultivating, what are you doing making a scene in my place?"
