Composed Demeanor, White Robes Like an Immortal

"Really? Who is it?"

No clue. All I know is, he's running this Eastern Alliance Qualification Exam...

He just parachuted in as an Elder! Who knows what kind of connections he's got?

"No idea!"

He's not even from the Spirit Alliance, but suddenly he's made Elder. I bet the higher-ups from the East, South, West, and North Alliances aren't thrilled about that.

Eh, whatever—way above our pay grade...

...

Grace listened, feeling uncomfortable.

This parachuted-in Elder was here to take Elder Samuel's place.

Elder Samuel died to save Grace and Felix Xi. May he rest in peace...

Just as Grace was thinking, President John Summers and the four Vice Presidents arrived, surrounding a man dressed in white.

He moved with effortless grace, his white robes outshining even the immortals.

"This is Elder Jonathan Hill," President John Summers introduced to the Eastern Alliance crowd. "This time, Elder Jonathan Hill will be overseeing the Eastern Alliance's Qualification Exam..."

The women present let out cries of surprise.

"Oh my gosh! He's actually an Elder?"

"He's so young—how could he be an Elder?"

"Is he some kind of immortal come down to earth? He's so good-looking!"

"Move over, you're blocking my view!"

"Hey, why are you pushing me? Let me see!"

...

Grace stared, wide-eyed, at the Elder in white.

Wasn't that her mentor?

Her mentor was actually the parachuted-in Elder?

She searched the crowd for Felix Xi. He looked expressionless—almost like he knew all along?

He didn't tell her? So annoying!

That day, worried it might be inconvenient for her mentor, Grace decided not to seek him out.

But it seemed her mentor knew where she was staying, because that evening, he showed up at her residence.

"Mentor!" Grace greeted him. "How did you know I lived here?"

"Felix Xi told me," Elder Jonathan Hill replied with a smile.

"Come in, have a seat!" Grace welcomed him inside and had Claire serve the finest tea.

"Mentor, how did you end up as an Elder in our Spirit Alliance?"

"I told you before, my father used to be an Elder in the Spirit Alliance. When the other Elders learned about my background and confirmed my medical skills, they agreed to let me inherit his position and become an Elder myself."

"Really! That's such a wonderful surprise!" Grace was truly delighted. "Seeing you today, I thought I was dreaming!"

Elder Jonathan Hill smiled at her. "So why didn't you come find me? Did I have to come looking for you instead?"

"I was worried it might not be convenient for you!"

"What's inconvenient about it? I'm your mentor, you're my apprentice—it's all perfectly aboveboard."

"Alright! I was overthinking it. Please forgive me, Mentor." Grace said with a smile.

Elder Jonathan Hill gazed at her and asked, "Are you feeling better now?"

"Better about what?"

"Evan Xiao."

Grace nodded. "I'm doing pretty well!"

Elder Jonathan Hill saw she wasn't faking and asked, "Has he come to see you?"

"He did come looking for me," Grace replied. "But he almost twisted my neck off!"

"Really?" Elder Jonathan Hill's smile faded a bit.

Evan Xiao was a cold and indifferent god.

Of all the women who could stir his emotions, Elder Jonathan Hill knew—there was only Grace.

Now, even though Evan Xiao had cut off his feelings for Grace, she was still special to him.

"Mentor, did you come to the Spirit Alliance... because of Senior Brother?" Grace asked.

"No."

"Then why did you become an Elder? Didn't you say before you weren't interested in the Spirit Alliance?"

"For you," Elder Jonathan Hill said, looking at her. "Didn't you say you wanted to be President? I want to help you achieve your dream."
