Medicine King Valley Guardian!

When Fire Elder made this offer, Uncle Victor Li felt a surge of excitement in his heart.

Anyone who manages to enter Medicine King Valley and become a Guardian receives pills from the Valley every year.

Inside Medicine King Valley, even a single pill is worth a fortune to outsiders—something money can’t buy.

Every year, countless people fight tooth and nail for a chance to become a Guardian, but the requirements are insanely strict.

Uncle Victor Li took a deep breath, looking over at Evan Lin, and felt that this teenager’s future was limitless.

"Guardian?" Evan Lin raised his eyebrows slightly, his tone playful.

"That’s right. With your talent, you’ve already reached the Mystic Arts Adept realm. You can join our Valley as a Guardian first. After a year, if your strength is recognized, I can recommend you to become an elder of Medicine King Valley!"

"Not only that—if you become a Medicine King Valley Guardian, you might even get personal guidance from the Valley Master. Just a few words from him could save you years of detours!"

When Fire Elder spoke about the Valley, his face grew solemn, full of respect.

Hearing this, Uncle Victor Li was so shocked he couldn't speak for a long moment, his throat dry.

"Become an elder of Medicine King Valley in just one year! Maybe even get personal guidance from the Valley Master! This kid... this kid will shake all of Seacrest Prefecture one day! Maybe he’ll even be on par with Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin!" Uncle Victor Li was full of awe, his eyes burning with excitement.

"Uncle Victor, is being an elder of Medicine King Valley and getting the Valley Master’s guidance really that big of a deal?" Melissa Mu asked, even though she already knew Medicine King Valley was a huge deal in Seacrest.

But even though Seacrest has three big cities, the whole Jiangnan region isn’t exactly famous for being super prosperous.

Medicine King Valley’s reputation is huge locally, but in the bigger world, it’s just a regional powerhouse.

"An elder of Medicine King Valley has massive authority. If he becomes a Guardian, he’ll be a true expert in the future, but if he’s made an elder, his whole family will have a guaranteed spot at the top in Seacrest." Uncle Victor Li sighed, "Besides, the Valley Master’s cultivation is said to be unfathomable. If this kid gets his guidance, his strength will skyrocket again."

"At his age, the only one anywhere near his level is Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin."

Uncle Victor Li felt a bit regretful—he hadn’t bothered to get on this kid’s good side, and had even mocked him a few times.

"His potential is way higher than Harvey Xie’s—by a mile."

Uncle Victor Li’s last sentence made Melissa Mu’s expression complicated. She looked at the boy across the way, her heart beating faster.

The boy’s silhouette still looked as upright as a pine tree.

Only now did Melissa Mu realize that all along the way, no matter what kind of mocking words the boy faced, his expression never seemed to change.

At first, she thought it was because he was timid—after all, most of the people Melissa knew, if they had a little background or skill, would act all arrogant and proud.

Whenever those kids got even a hint of disrespect, they’d use their abilities or family connections to immediately put others in their place.

Compared to them, this boy’s self-control and bearing are way beyond his peers!

Melissa Mu suddenly felt a wave of regret in her heart.

"You know, someone told me that before too. So, when Medicine King Valley can’t win, you guys just try to recruit people instead?" Evan Lin sneered.

Fire Elder was stunned for a second, then his face changed drastically. He shot to his feet, staring straight at Evan Lin, his voice trembling with shock: "You—you’re Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin!"

"Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin!"

"Impossible! How could he possibly be Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin?"

Uncle Victor Li’s face, which had just shown regret and disappointment, now turned ashen.

He had thought that with Fire Elder offering such an irresistible olive branch, even the most arrogant youth would agree—unless he was a total fool.

Beside him, Melissa Mu was helping him up from the ground.

But now, after hearing Fire Elder’s words, Uncle Victor Li’s legs went weak—his eyes were filled not just with regret, but with terror!

"Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin?" When Melissa Mu heard that name, she instantly turned to look at Evan Lin, her pretty face changing: "He really is the Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin who shook all of Seacrest!"

Melissa felt dizzy for a moment, nearly losing her balance.

Now, when she looked at the boy again, the once ordinary-looking youth suddenly seemed extraordinary to her.

"You’re just realizing it now? Isn’t it a bit late?" Evan Lin shook his head. "I was planning to visit Medicine King Valley in a few days, but I didn’t expect you to come crawling out yourselves."

"Are all Medicine King Valley people like you—reckless, brainless, and totally unafraid of death?"

Evan Lin looked at Fire Elder and strolled toward him. "Forget inviting me to be an elder—even if your Valley Master came here in person, knelt on the ground, and kowtowed for eighty-one days straight, begging me to be your ancestor, I still might not agree."

"To me, you, your Valley Master, even all of Medicine King Valley are nothing but tiny grains of sand—utterly insignificant."

Evan Lin spoke calmly, while Fire Elder’s face twisted with rage. "You killed Water Elder and Gold Elder, and crippled Wood Elder’s cultivation. Today, I’ll make you understand that the prestige of Medicine King Valley cannot be violated!"

"I don’t care who you are, Evan ‘Nine-Mysteries’ Lin—anyone who offends Medicine King Valley must die!"

Fire Elder stood up from the ground, glaring coldly at Evan Lin, about to say something more.

Evan Lin glanced at him and sighed, "All this bluster is just buying time to gather your spell. Let’s be real—I won’t interrupt you. Just show me your best technique."

"Three minutes enough for you? If not, I can give you half an hour, even a whole day if you need—I’ll wait right here."

Hearing Evan Lin’s words, Fire Elder’s face changed again. He really had been gathering a spell all this time, but with his cultivation, it was hard to unleash it quickly!

Melissa Mu and Uncle Victor Li were both stunned by Evan Lin’s words! Either this boy was a fool, or he was outrageously confident—no, downright arrogant!

Arrogant!

Evan Lin tilted his head slightly, gazing up at the rainclouds. Raindrops slid down his hair, each drop linking into a stream.

"You really ought to take a good look at this rain."

"After all, for you, this will be the last rain you ever feel in your life."

"When the rain stops, you’ll be dead."

Evan Lin’s voice was chilly, his face calm and indifferent.
