Heavenly Punishment Tribulation

As soon as Evan Chu finished speaking, the Black Qilin soared into the sky. Evan flashed up as well, and with a sweep of his divine sense, completely enveloped the Black Qilin, sending him straight into the Timewheel Bracelet.

Inside the Timewheel Bracelet, Immortal Essence was still incredibly dense. The Black Qilin hadn’t expected a top-tier God-Realm artifact to have such an environment. If this Immortal Essence ever became God-Realm divine energy, it would be truly terrifying.

Once the Black Qilin entered the Timewheel Bracelet, Evan Chu gradually calmed his mind. Overhead, the tribulation clouds grew ever denser. Although Yvonne Xuan and the other women had left, they hadn’t gone far—their worry for Evan ran deep. Right now, they hovered more than a thousand li away, watching Skyflight Terrace for any movement.

A thousand li was an impossible distance for ordinary people—no one could see that far. But for late-stage Immortal Emperor experts, it was doable. Of course, they weren’t using their eyes, but divine sense, which was even more accurate and real than vision.

"Yvonne, why do you think Evan wanted us to leave? Is it because he doesn’t want us to see him looking so miserable during his tribulation? Or is he afraid the lightning tribulation might hurt us?" Fairy Lynn couldn’t help but ask.

"It could be either, honestly. Evan’s identity is special—I’m sure his lightning tribulation will be just as unusual. It might even be the kind of Nine-Heaven Divine Thunder that terrifies everyone. Or maybe he’s worried we’ll see him get hurt and won’t be able to help ourselves, so we’d rush onto Skyflight Terrace and accidentally trigger more tribulations. That would be real trouble." Yvonne Xuan said.

"That makes sense, but it’s frustrating just standing here, unable to help at all! Once Evan ascends to the God Realm, I’ll ascend right after him—I can’t let him face danger alone up there." Fairy Lynn said.

"We’ll all be ascending soon, but once we get to the God Realm, we have to change our appearances. Otherwise, we’ll run into all kinds of unnecessary trouble. I’m sure Evan will change his look too, but names don’t need to change—otherwise it’d be even harder to find each other." Yvonne Xuan said.

"Jade said the God Realm is huge—just one city there is as big as the Immortal Realm, maybe bigger. And when we ascend, we’ll end up in different places, so it’ll be really hard to stick together. During that time, everyone will have to look out for themselves." Roxanne Lin said.

"Alright, let’s not talk about it anymore—let’s just quietly watch Evan’s Heavenly God Tribulation. Sure, it’s terrifying, but as long as he’s prepared, there’s still a chance he’ll get through it. Once Evan ascends, we’ll go hunt for the best treasures in the world." Yvonne Xuan said.

Serena Frost didn’t say a word. Her bright, watery eyes stared straight at the spot where Evan was undergoing his tribulation. Her heart rose and fell with Evan’s ascension. Though she was usually cold as ice, inside she burned with passion—a change that only Evan could bring.

By now, Evan’s injuries had mostly healed. He checked his storage ring and found only five Jadeheart Lotus seeds left—far too few. He’d have to save them for the most critical moment.

Before the tribulation lightning fell, Evan began circulating the wood element within his body. The powerful wood energy from the Wood-Thunder gave him confidence that he could break through to Woodshift’s second layer right now. But this wasn’t the moment for a breakthrough—he needed to stabilize the wood element first and only break through after ascending to the God Realm.

Once Woodshift reached the second layer, his injury recovery would be much faster—at least a third quicker than before. Evan couldn’t help but feel a little excited about that.

At that moment, the tribulation clouds overhead pressed down with enormous force—at least as heavy as the Space Domain pressure of a demigod-rank expert. Evan could only grit his teeth and endure. This Heavenly God Tribulation had come way too suddenly; even he hadn’t expected it.

A bolt of lightning as thick as an arm crashed down from the sky, instantly lighting up several hundred li all around. The sky, once choked with dark clouds, was suddenly as bright as day. Even Yvonne, Jade, and the others a thousand li away saw the terrifying lightning.

"Evan’s first bolt of lightning just appeared. I can’t believe it’s already this strong—I’m really worried about the ones that come next!" Jade whispered.

"He’s our man—we should trust him. No matter how strong the lightning gets, Evan will pull through. Everyone, try not to worry so much." Serena Frost couldn’t help but say.

The lightning in the sky slammed straight into Evan. This time, he didn’t try to defend—he wanted to personally feel just how strong the first bolt really was.

When the lightning entered his body, Evan felt numb all over, but the sensation faded quickly. The power of the lightning was being rapidly absorbed inside him—this first bolt was practically a supplement for Evan.

But the lightning slammed him down to the ground. Evan quickly got up and checked his condition—nothing serious, so he relaxed and began absorbing the lightning power inside him.

After half a stick of incense, Evan had completely absorbed the power of that first bolt. He was sure that if he could absorb all the tribulation lightning, his Thundershift would break through to the third layer—maybe even the fourth.

It was a good idea, but Evan wouldn’t risk it. At most, he’d absorb the first three bolts—the rest were far too terrifying. With his current strength, even if the lightning didn’t kill him, the sheer energy would make him explode. He wasn’t about to make that rookie mistake.

After being struck by lightning, Evan felt invigorated. He soared into the air once more, and the tribulation clouds above began to churn, the pressure growing even heavier—his breathing turned rapid.

Evan didn’t understand why such overwhelming pressure was bearing down on him. If it were anyone else, they’d be dead already—most would be crushed by the pressure before the lightning even struck. That would be a bizarre way to die.

Soon, a vortex formed in the tribulation clouds, and a bolt of lightning twice as thick as the first crashed down. Again, Evan didn’t defend—he used the Star-Siphon Method to frantically absorb the energy into his body.

He crashed down onto Skyflight Terrace again, but this time he wasn’t so lucky. Cracks appeared in his muscles, golden blood slowly oozed out, and his dantian felt like it was about to explode—his vision went white with pain.

"Evan’s second tribulation lightning just struck—it's so powerful! Even from this far away, we can feel the energy. I have no idea how Evan is handling it," Jade said.
