Chase Chu Recognizes His Master

"Why don't you go back?" Sean Shen looked a little anxious. He had been searching everywhere for Lora Luo these past few days but found no trace of her. He only discovered that Hannah Nangong was also looking for Evan, so he checked in with Hannah every so often to see if there was any news. Today, he was surprised to see Lora Luo and thought he might have mistaken her for someone else, so he was extremely excited.

"That's none of your business. You go back first, I'll be back soon," Lora Luo said.

Evan and Hannah Nangong exchanged glances. At this moment, Evan was already in the appearance of his alias Ian Wood—the same look he used with Lora Luo and Sean Shen. Clearly, he was using this new identity to avoid exposing his real one.

When they appeared, Sean Shen was about to say something to Lora Luo, but when he saw Evan, he erupted in anger: "So you really are here."

"What's wrong?" Evan asked.

Lora Luo came over to Evan and said, "It's nothing, just ignore him."

Seeing Lora Luo and Evan so close, Sean Shen was furious inside. "What does that mean?" he demanded.

"Enough, stop wasting words with him. Let's go," Lora Luo said. Evan and Hannah Nangong exchanged looks, then followed Lora Luo as she left. Sean Shen, of course, trailed behind, repeatedly asking Lora Luo, "What do you mean by this?"

"Don't you think you're really annoying?" Lora Luo said.

Sean Shen froze, stopped in his tracks, and glared angrily at their backs. He cursed inwardly, "Damn it, no matter what happened to turn you from enemies to friends, I swear I'm going to destroy you."

Fuming, Sean Shen followed behind them, wanting to see what they were up to. When he saw them heading to the Blue Robe Sect's teleportation gate, he was both shocked and suspicious.

He watched as they entered the formation, found the teleportation array, and the three went in together. Sean Shen, appearing behind, cursed angrily, "Damn, they even brought outsiders into the sect."

Thinking about it made him furious, but since it was his own sect, Sean Shen sneered, "Perfect, they're coming right into our territory—let's see if I can't turn their world upside down."

With that, Sean Shen headed back as well.

As soon as Evan entered the formation, it wasn't long before they arrived on a planet. This planet was exceptionally large, and aside from it, the surroundings were empty, almost like it was a lone particle floating in the void.

"Come on, I'll take you to meet my master," Lora Luo said impatiently.

"Okay," Evan nodded.

Hannah Nangong watched Lora Luo and Evan's relationship, feeling a little helpless, but soon accepted it. Evan was so outstanding, it was only natural that many women would be drawn to him.

Evan, however, had no idea what Hannah Nangong was thinking.

At this moment, Evan was paying attention to the surrounding buildings. They were very simple, but the wood on their surfaces was all cyan, matching the disciples' clothing. With Lora Luo leading the way, people glanced at them but didn't bother to investigate further.

But Sean Shen in the back wasn't about to let Evan off so easily. As soon as he returned to his own branch, he called over a few close friends.

"Sean, why are you in such a rush? What's going on?" a bald man asked curiously.

"Bald Lee, someone wants to steal Junior Sister Lora from me. What do you say?" Sean Shen said.

"What? Someone's after your girl, Sean? Tell me who it is and I'll teach him a lesson," Bald Lee said angrily.

"I'll take you there, but be careful. I heard this guy isn't weak," Sean Shen warned.

"Relax, I don't believe my first-tier Immortal-Lord strength can't handle him," Bald Lee said confidently.

"You broke through?" Sean Shen asked curiously.

"Yeah, while you guys were out, I advanced to Immortal-Lord," Bald Lee said with a grin, itching to test his skills.

"That's perfect, let's go. I'll take you there," Sean Shen thought secretly. Having someone else do the dirty work was much better than handling it himself; if the guy got beaten, Lora Luo wouldn't blame him for it.

So Sean Shen took Bald Lee with him, while Lora Luo was already leading Evan and the others toward her branch. As they were about to arrive, someone suddenly appeared ahead—a bald man, none other than the Bald Lee Sean had just mentioned.

"Senior Brother Lee, what's this about?" Lora Luo asked suspiciously.

"I heard Junior Sister Lora came back, so I came to check in. What, you brought friends?" Bald Lee frowned.

"Yeah, they're my friends," Lora Luo replied.

"Junior Sister, I just advanced to Immortal-Lord. I want to spar with someone—do any of your friends want to help me practice?" Bald Lee grinned.

"What? You want to use my friends as practice dummies? No way, I won't allow it. Go find another brother to spar with," Lora Luo said, shaking her head.

"Guests are guests—getting to know each other just makes us friends. What's the harm in that? Junior Sister, you're being unreasonable," Bald Lee said.

"Senior Brother, we have things to do. You should go," Lora Luo said.

"Junior Sister, I'm not leaving unless someone spars with me," Bald Lee said, acting shameless.

"You!" Lora Luo was furious, but didn't know what else to do.

Evan didn't want Lora Luo to be put on the spot, so he spoke up with a smile, "Alright, let's do it."

"No way," Lora Luo and Hannah Nangong said in unison.

Lora Luo and Hannah Nangong exchanged glances, then looked at Evan. Evan felt a headache coming on, but he didn't want to keep dragging things out, so he smiled and said, "It's fine, it's just a sparring match. Besides, this friend has already reached Immortal-Lord—I want to see what that level is like."

"That's the spirit! Now that's what I call a real man. Come on, let's head to the Blue Robe Sect's martial arena," Bald Lee said with a laugh.

Evan nodded, with Lora Luo and Hannah Nangong following close behind. They soon arrived at the Blue Robe Sect's martial arena. Evan agreed not just to defeat Bald Lee but also to make a statement, so the sect members would stop bothering him.

"Here we are," Bald Lee said with a grin.

Evan looked around. The arena was huge—within a hundred paces there was no one else, but outside that range, crowds were gathering, all in the sect's uniform.

It was obvious they were all from the Blue Robe Sect, and Evan and Hannah Nangong stood out. "Alright, let's begin," Bald Lee said.

Evan nodded, and the two began to fight. The match, of course, attracted a crowd.

Nearby, Chase Chu happened to be passing by. Hearing there was a match, he went to check it out. When he saw Evan and Hannah Nangong, he realized Ian Wood was Evan's friend, and Hannah Nangong was here too. He was delighted, thinking they'd come to see him, and shouted, "Master's Wife, I'm over here!"

Hannah Nangong felt the voice was familiar, so she looked over curiously. Evan also thought the voice sounded familiar. When his divine sense spotted Chase Chu, he relaxed. He'd come here partly to ask about the teleportation array, and partly to check on Chase Chu.

Hannah Nangong went over to greet Chase Chu and smiled, "How are you doing?"

"I'm great, I've been cultivating here these days," Chase Chu replied with a smile.

Hannah Nangong nodded, "That's good."

"Where's Master?" Chase Chu asked curiously.

"Your master..." Hannah Nangong knew Evan hadn't told him yet, so she didn't say anything, only adding, "He's here, but he's not letting you know for now."

"Really? That's great!" Chase Chu said excitedly.

Lora Luo had been listening nearby. From the way Hannah Nangong interacted with Evan and Chase Chu, and from Chase's tone, she realized that if Hannah Nangong was the Master's Wife, then Evan must be Chase's master. Thinking this, Lora felt a bit bitter and sighed inwardly, "Looks like he already has someone. Why should I add complications?"

Evan had no idea what Lora Luo was thinking. At that moment, he was fighting Bald Lee. Evan, a ninth-tier Heavenly-Immortal, shouldn't have been able to match Bald Lee, but the outcome surprised everyone.

Hannah Nangong also noticed that Evan's cultivation had reached ninth-tier Heavenly-Immortal. He'd been able to fight ninth-tier Profound-Immortals before, so being able to face a first-tier Immortal-Lord now was only natural.

Meanwhile, Chase Chu seemed to notice something. To him, Evan was looking more and more like his master—whether in technique, skills, or movement.

"Master's Wife, why does this guy use the same techniques as my master?" Chase Chu asked suspiciously.

"You noticed?" Hannah Nangong realized there was no point in hiding it and smiled.

"Really?" Seeing Hannah Nangong's smile, Chase Chu was shocked.

Hannah Nangong didn't say much, but her silence was confirmation. Lora Luo overheard and felt even more downhearted—she'd thought Evan and Hannah Nangong were just friends, but now it was obvious: one was the master, one was the Master's Wife. Their relationship was clear.

Once he realized it was Evan, Chase Chu got excited. "Master's Wife, why does he look like this?"

"Your master can change his appearance," Hannah Nangong replied with a smile.

"Oh, so that's it. No wonder. Why didn't you tell me last time?" Chase Chu complained.

"There were reasons last time, so we kept it from you for your own good," Hannah Nangong said.

Chase Chu nodded. He trusted his master completely, and watched with excitement. In his heart, he admired his master most for always challenging those stronger than himself.

Evan's performance in the arena had already won over the crowd. Not far away, Sean Shen cursed inwardly, "Who is this guy, anyway? How is this possible?" He thought Evan was just a ninth-tier Heavenly-Immortal, so how could he possibly cross so many levels? But Evan's display had clearly exceeded his expectations.

It wasn't just Sean Shen—even Bald Lee, who was fighting, was frustrated. He muttered, "Kid, you have fire attributes, but you still can't beat me."

"My fire can't really hurt you. Your speed as a first-tier Immortal-Lord is pretty good, and attacking you is tricky. But you can't do anything to me either. Let's call it a draw," Evan said with a smile. He could have won if he'd gone all out, but he chose to step back—partly to save face for Bald Lee, and partly to keep his true strength hidden.
