Do Not Attain the Third Step in the Five Elements Universe
With Joe Di's current cultivation, returning to the Dao Domain was merely a matter of tearing through a few void realms. He no longer needed to pass through the Void Market or the Sea of Void as before.
When Joe Di tore open the Dao Domain boundary, he found himself above a vast lake—Lostlake. He had once set up a grand array outside Lostlake, and now, following his own aura to tear open the boundary, he had indeed returned to Lostlake.
Lostlake was also known as the Lake of Lostness in the Dao Domain. Back when Joe Di's cultivation was weak, he had never feared the lake's disorienting effects, and now, he feared it even less.
Joe Di opened his Dao Eyes, and the tens of thousands of miles around Lostlake were all within his sight.
A pair of Azure Peacocks flew past Joe Di's gaze, reminding him of the pair he had once saved. Those two had received his ring; by now, their strength should far surpass that of other Lostlake Peacocks.
"Daoist Joe..." a weak voice called out. Joe Di instinctively swept out his divine sense, but before he could see his surroundings, he realized it was coming from his True Spirit World.
Joe Di's divine sense immediately landed in the True Spirit World, and he chuckled, "Old Man, looks like you're recovering well."
Baker Wynn was the only cultivator who had escaped from the Gate of Destiny. Back then, he had been shackled by the Heaven and Earth Dao Ban, nearly crushed by the rules of Heaven and Earth, but Joe Di had saved his life.
Judging by Baker Wynn's current condition, it would take a long time for him to fully recover. Saying he's recovering well only means his life was saved. Now, he could barely communicate for a while, which was already a good sign.
Baker Wynn was still obviously very weak, showing just how terrifying the Heaven and Earth Dao Ban was. It was only because he encountered Joe Di, who had just comprehended the Escape Dao Principle, that he survived. Otherwise, no one in the universe could have saved Baker Wynn.
"Daoist Joe, my aura is still too weak. I can only tell you a few critical things," Baker Wynn said, panting before continuing, "I still can't speak for long. The reason I'm in a hurry to say this now is because I'm worried you'll attempt the Third Step Dao Confirmation here..."
Joe Di asked in confusion, "If I don't confirm the Third Step, am I supposed to wait for others to grow stronger?"
Baker Wynn took a few breaths and said urgently, "No, if you confirm the Third Step in the Five Elements Universe, no matter how strong you become, you'll only reach the peak of the Five Elements Universe. After entering the Gate of Destiny, those powerhouses are truly terrifying..."
As if recalling those terrifying figures, Baker Wynn shuddered involuntarily at this point.
Joe Di didn't interrupt; he knew Baker Wynn wanted to share something important, otherwise he would still be focused on recovering.
"The strongest in the Five Elements Universe is Dominic Du, but he was schemed against by his disciple Morgan Du. Morgan Du is no ordinary cultivator—his strength rivals Dominic Du's, and he's known as the Five Elements Holy Master. In the Five Elements Universe, he's one of the very top, but in the Creation World, he's still not enough. Dao Confirmation in the Five Elements Universe can only grant dominance over the Five Elements..."
Baker Wynn took a few breaths and didn't continue. He couldn't help but worry—if Joe Di were killed, he, Baker Wynn, would be doomed as well. Surviving the journey from the Five Elements Universe was no easy feat; now that he was alive, he was not about to give up.
Joe Di already understood Baker Wynn's point: the rules of the Five Elements Universe were thoroughly mastered by those powerhouses. No matter how strong he became here, he would never escape its constraints.
Joe Di didn't explain. First, Dominic Du was definitely still alive. Second, his cultivation method had long surpassed the Five Elements Universe; he cultivated the rules of his own Dao. After reaching the Third Step, he would use his own rules to construct his own world.
He simply hadn't found a place to construct his world yet. As soon as he found the opportunity, he would fully build his world and step into the Realm Creator stage. So Baker Wynn's worries were unnecessary.
Baker Wynn was no ordinary man—calling him an old monster would be an honor to monsters. Seeing Joe Di's expression, he knew Joe Di hadn't taken his words to heart. He said urgently, "Daoist Joe, please believe me. If you confirm your Dao in the Five Elements Universe, no matter what Dao it is, you won't escape its bounds and will be crushed by others in the future. My cultivation is low, but I understand the principle..."
Baker Wynn closed his eyes and resumed cultivating to heal his wounds. The Heaven and Earth Dao Ban was simply too terrifying.
Joe Di's gaze flickered when he heard this. He did cultivate his own rules and Dao, but Baker Wynn was right—even if he practiced his own rules, as long as he confirmed the Third Step in the Five Elements Universe, he could never truly break free from its constraints, or at least would still be affected by its Dao principles.
"Thank you," Joe Di cupped his fists and handed Baker Wynn a healing Dao Fruit.
"Prime Dao Fruit!" Baker Wynn exclaimed, grabbing the Dao Fruit and swallowing it without hesitation. Even at his level, Prime Dao Fruits were rare. Yet Joe Di had casually given him one. Joe Di was certainly no ordinary figure.
Joe Di had obtained this Prime Dao Fruit in the void of the Shaman Realm. Back then, Jade Vaughn treated it as a personal treasure, but Joe Di took some and returned the extras to the Shaman Realm.
Baker Wynn's words made Joe Di more cautious. Though he hadn't decided where to confirm the Third Step, he'd never considered leaving the Five Elements Universe to do so. Now, Baker Wynn's advice made him think that it might be best to leave when the time came.
Suddenly, a blade-like white light swept up from beneath Joe Di, transforming into a void space and blasting toward him.
Joe Di was startled. Even though his escape technique was the pinnacle in this universe, the white light still grazed his waist, raising a mist of blood.
So powerful, Joe Di marveled inwardly. This blade-like void space at Lostlake was truly terrifying. He hadn't encountered it before, but if he had when crossing Lostlake, would he have survived to this day?

With his current strength, if he hadn't escaped quickly just now, he would have been torn apart by that blade-like void space.
After the blade-like void space was torn apart, towering waves hundreds of feet high surged forward. Joe Di landed on the crest of a wave with a single step, let out a long howl, and fully opened his Dao Eyes. Back when he was nurturing his Dao, he had never feared Lostlake, and now that he had perfected his Prime Dao, could Lostlake hope to swallow him? Not even the blade-like void space could.
Under the Dao Eyes, Joe Di was surprised to see a black palace at the bottom of Lostlake. The palace was protected by a Water-Severing Grand Array and looked imposing.
Joe Di's Dao Eyes pierced through the Water-Severing Array, and to his surprise, he saw a Lostlake Peacock nailed outside the palace. He didn't know how long it had been there, but he instantly recognized it as one of the pair he had once rescued.
It was the first time Joe Di realized there was a palace beneath Lostlake. Without hesitation, he stepped directly into the lake's depths.
Lostlake Peacocks always appear in pairs. If one was killed, the other should have been as well. Moreover, Lostlake Peacocks are extremely precious—if a cultivator caught one, they would never nail it outside a black palace like this.
Bang! Joe Di landed outside the palace and struck it with a punch.
Crack! The Water-Severing Grand Array shattered under Joe Di's punch, and lake water instantly flooded the palace. With a wave of his hand, the nailed Azure Peacock fell into his palm.
It had died from having its soul and vitality stripped away? Joe Di snorted and sent the Lostlake Peacock into the Ninth World, his gaze falling on the black palace. He wanted to see which twisted cultivator would strip a Lostlake Peacock's soul and vitality for cultivation, then nail it outside their lair.
He had once treated that pair of Lostlake Peacocks as friends, but today he found one nailed to death. The other was surely doomed as well.
