Miles Ning's First Law: Never try to reason with Miles Ning.

And now—

But now, his master was actually planning to reason with someone in person... Andrew Han’s expression shifted. As soon as Miles Ning hung up the call with Finch Huang, Andrew hurriedly cautioned, "Master, don’t be impulsive, please don’t be impulsive."

"What do you mean?" Miles Ning lifted his drooping eyelids and stared at Andrew Han.

In terms of martial strength, he was no match for Andrew Han, but to uphold his dignity as a master, Miles Ning might lose in power, but never in presence!

"Ahem." Andrew Han was speechless. "Master, how exactly do you plan to reason with her? No matter what, she’s Finch Huang’s stepmother. If, after reasoning, Finch Huang’s mother ends up dead, how would this child see our Green Mountain Sect?"

"Tch."

Miles Ning snorted. "Do you really think your master is that unreasonable? I am learned and well-read, versed in the Four Books and Five Classics, I’ve pored over philosophy texts and educational articles, and I never kill lightly."

...

With the cool sea breeze blowing, Andrew Han’s mouth twitched.

What’s the use of reading books? Does eating a few green vegetables turn a tiger into a kitten?

Ahem.

Andrew Han didn’t trust Miles Ning’s idea of reasoning at all. What if he lost control on the spot and scared off Finch Huang? The child still didn’t have any sense of belonging to the sect.

But Miles Ning paid no mind to Andrew Han’s odd expression. He straightened his graying hair, coughed twice, and looked around at the surrounding ruins, his tone full of emotion.

"Look at our Green Mountain Sect—what a vast and beautiful landscape. Even the finest scenes of time and place can’t compare."

"And our Green Mountain disciples—all win people over with reason, establish themselves with virtue, and are renowned for their noble character throughout the Martial Arts World of Sinovera. We must make sure Finch Huang understands just how wonderful our Green Mountain Sect truly is."

Silence.

The breeze drifted by, and Andrew Han fell silent.

"Master..."

"What is it?"

"What’s so great about our Green Mountain Sect? Can you give some specifics?" Andrew Han glanced at Miles Ning before surveying the surrounding ruins, finally looking down at himself. This was the current Green Mountain Sect—how wonderful was it, really? Even Andrew wasn’t sure.

...

Anhu Province, Huangshan City.

This is a prefecture-level city beside the Mount Yellow scenic area, with a thriving economy, skyscrapers everywhere, and busy streets packed with cars.

Row-house villa district, in front of a villa.

"This is Finch Huang’s home."

Miles Ning wore a green robe, with the three characters for Green Mountain Sect embroidered in bold black strokes across the back.

Beside him, Andrew Han also wore a green robe, standing close as if afraid Miles Ning would start a massacre. Andrew kept his Magma-State Internal Power circulating at all times.

"Finch, your family is pretty well-off." Andrew Han smiled lightly, glancing at the entrance of one of the row-house villas—the home of the twin sisters Oriole Huang and Finch Huang.

Woo woo.

Finch Huang wiped her tears, looking utterly aggrieved. Her tearful face tilted up as she wailed, "Grandmaster, look! Master has no conscience, Master is heartless, the cutest, silliest, most beautiful disciple is about to become someone else’s concubine—why are you laughing? Still laughing? Master, how can you still be laughing—woo woo!"

Her sister Oriole Huang stood beside her, face ashen.

Their stepmother seemed to believe she’d found someone powerful and forced them into a marriage contract, making both sisters concubines to some so-called scion of a great family.

"Don’t panic, disciple, don’t panic." Andrew Han flicked his flowing green robe and said calmly, "Your grandmaster Miles Ning is versed in ancient and modern wisdom, learned in East and West, eloquent and persuasive. Convincing your parents is a trivial matter, not worth mentioning."

Upon hearing this,

Finch Huang’s eyes lit up. She hurriedly wiped her sad tears away, her dirty face unable to hide her delicate cuteness. "Really?"

"Of course, your master never speaks falsehoods." Andrew Han flicked his green robe again.

Noon sunlight poured down.

Birds circled overhead.

Finch Huang’s eyes grew even brighter. The bold Green Mountain Sect characters on the back of the tidy green robe filled her entire vision, occupying her mind. She felt as if those three words radiated an incomparable brilliance, illuminating her inside and out.
