Arrival of the Freewind Sect Master

1/19/2026

Blue-Shade God-Venerable truly admired Evan Chu's mastery of wood-element energy. Among the Nine Elements, wood is the only one that can restore the body. With such powerful wood-element control, Evan barely suffers injuries—ordinary wounds heal in just a few breaths.

Soon Evan withdrew his hand and said, "Brother, if I hadn't listened to you and come here, I might've missed Monica and Lynn completely. If anything had happened to them, I'd never forgive myself."

"Enough already, you've said that at least three times. If fate meant for you to meet them, you don't need to keep worrying. Right now, you'd better focus on what's coming next. What's the deal with you and that woman? How did she become my sister-in-law?" Blue-Shade God-Venerable asked.

"Do you know Monica? That's her—Monica Dream! You get it now, right?" Evan laughed, especially seeing the shock on Blue-Shade God-Venerable's face, which made him laugh even harder.

"So it's her! No wonder you won her over so fast. Looks like avenging Monica and Lynn won't be easy now," Blue-Shade God-Venerable said.

"This has nothing to do with Monica. Whoever brought them here has to die—no matter who it is, I won't let them off! Anyone who dares touch my women is dead. They're my inverse scale—touch my inverse scale and you die!" Evan said, a murderous aura bursting from his body.

That killing intent made even Blue-Shade God-Venerable shudder. Evan might only be mid God-Emperor, but his murderous aura was on par with a mid or even late God-Venerable—enough to chill anyone to the bone.

Just then, Elder Gu and the mid-stage God-Venerable beside him looked at Monica with suspicion. Elder Gu asked, "Miss Monica, why didn't you kill that guy and come back alone? And why did you return with a young man? What's going on here?"

"That young man is actually the same person as the middle-aged man just now—he was disguised. The more we fought, the more we hit it off, so we just stopped. I think you know what I mean," Monica said.

Elder Gu knew Monica had always been devoted to Blue-Shade God-Venerable. Now she had suddenly changed her mind, which was hard to believe. But love at first sight isn't unheard of—maybe Monica was just waiting for the right person.

"So you two just fought and became friends? And now we're supposed to let this whole thing go?" Elder Gu said, dissatisfied. After all, Evan and Blue-Shade God-Venerable had killed plenty of people here. If things ended just like that, he really couldn't swallow his anger.

"Of course we're letting it go. I'm even planning to introduce him to my brother. A few deaths mean nothing. I still need to find whoever brought those two women here and hand them over to Evan. Otherwise, his anger won't be settled—and that'll be my meeting gift to him," Monica said.

People say women can change their minds faster than flipping a page, and Monica was no exception. Just moments ago she was an enemy, now she was helping Evan. Maybe it's true—once a girl grows up, she can't be kept at home. Elder Gu was uneasy; Monica was the sect master's sister and held high status in Freewind Sect.

Even Freewind Sect Master Tao Dream couldn't do anything about her. Most of the time, he just let his only sister do as she pleased—as long as she didn't cause a huge disaster, he'd turn a blind eye and let her be.

Once Elder Gu figured that out, he could only swallow his anger, though his face looked terrible. "Since Miss Monica has decided, I won't say more. Just remember, don't judge by appearances—be careful not to get fooled."

"You don't need to worry about that, Elder Gu. Just go find the person who brought them here and hand them over to me. Also, let my brother know I've found the one I love, so he doesn't have to worry about my marriage anymore. Go on, get to it!" Monica said.

Just like that, Monica talked away a battle that had shaken the whole place. It was a dramatic turn of events—there are strange happenings every year, but today was especially wild.

Elder Gu and the other mid-stage God-Venerable were both injured and had no choice but to leave. Of course, the crowd started to disperse too—once the excitement was over, no one wanted to stick around.

Monica walked over to Evan, smiling, "Evan, I've settled everything. Soon, they'll bring you the person you're looking for. Let's just drop it for now—I don't want you and Freewind Sect to end up at odds. For my sake, can you endure a little?"

"Qiqi, you really know how to put me in a tough spot. But if you really can find the person who brought Monica and Lynn here, I'll let it go. If not, I'll definitely go to your brother for justice. You're my woman, and so are they."

"All of you are my inverse scale. After what they've suffered, I can't just let it go with a few words. I owe them an explanation—and myself too. Do you understand? If you were the one hurt, I'd do the same. That's my principle and bottom line," Evan said, calm but resolute.

"I know that, and that's exactly why I sent people to find whoever brought Lynn and the others here—to give you an explanation. We've finally come together, and I don't want any more misunderstandings. I can't lose you again," Monica said.

"Got it. So what do you plan to do with these people? They're all slaves, right? I don't want to make things hard for you. There's enough Violet Cloud Crystals here to buy them all—I mean to set them free, let them regain their freedom," Evan said, taking out a storage ring.

"Evan, even if you save these people today, can you save the next batch? This world runs on survival of the fittest. You can't be too soft-hearted—this flaw of yours never changes, and that's why you suffer so much. I don't want to see you get dragged down again," Monica said.

Just as Evan was about to reply, a tremor echoed from the distant sky, followed by a hearty laugh: "Hahaha! Elder Gu said my little sister Qiqi has found her ideal man, so I've come to take a look myself!"

As soon as the words fell, two figures arrived—an elder and a middle-aged man. No need to guess, the latter was Monica's brother Tao Dream, the sect master of Freewind Sect.

"Brother, why are you here? And so loud, too! Aren't you afraid people will laugh?" Monica shot Tao Dream a look.

"Laugh? Who'd dare laugh at my sister? They should see whose turf this is!" Tao Dream laughed, but soon his gaze landed on Blue-Shade God-Venerable and Evan...
