Old Acquaintance

As soon as Terence Liao spoke, quite a few people turned to look at Warren Wu sitting over there, many of them showing clear disdain in their eyes.

In their eyes, Medicine King Valley was like a holy land, and Terence Liao, once its Guardian, was a true powerhouse. Hearing what Terence said, they figured the old man expelled from the Valley must have done something truly despicable, so naturally he was shunned.

"Ahem, it's been a long time."

Warren Wu coughed, looked at Terence Liao, his face twitching slightly, but forced a calm smile, trying to maintain his refined demeanor.

But Terence Liao clearly hadn't liked Warren Wu for a long time. He looked at him mockingly and said, "Who would've thought? The miracle doctor Warren Wu from Medicine King Valley has ended up like this."

"You stole Hundred-Lives Grass from the Valley to save your wife, but ended up killing her instead. The Valley Master spared your life and only crippled your cultivation—yet here you are, shameless enough to come back. Are you here to die?"

Terence Liao spoke coldly. Warren Wu's face changed instantly, looking rather unpleasant. "That's all ancient history. Let's not bring it up again."

Back when Evan Lin seized the spiritual herbs in Brightsea City, he killed Leo Liang and Peony from Medicine King Valley. Spirit Locust, possessed by the blood-man, managed to escape. But Terence Liao was no longer at the Valley then, so he didn't know Warren Wu had also taken part in grabbing the herbs.

"Let it go? Sure, but since we've finally met again, we should at least catch up a bit." Terence Liao laughed, pulled out the chair next to Warren Wu without asking, and sat right down.

"Let's go sit over there too."

Harvey Liao saw Terence Liao sit down, then grinned and said something to Lucy Lu and Queenie Tong beside him.

Then he strode forward, frowned, and looked at the teenager eating across from Warren Wu, clearly annoyed.

The table here wasn't very big, and it wasn't round, so the seating was pretty cramped.

Harvey Liao saw the teenager had no sense of tact, immediately got annoyed, reached out and knocked on the table: "Hey, kid, we've got a lot of people here. Mind switching tables for your meal?"

Evan Lin turned his head slightly, looked at Harvey Liao standing beside him, his eyes indifferent: "Are you talking to me?"

Obviously. Who else would I be talking to?

Harvey Liao spoke to Evan Lin, looking at him like he was an idiot.

With Terence Liao backing him, Harvey Liao wanted to impress Queenie Tong and Lucy Lu, so he picked on Evan Lin to show off.

Terence Liao was thinking about how to best look down on Warren Wu. After all, in Medicine King Valley, the so-called Guardians, who seemed so impressive to outsiders, were actually the lowest position.

Back then, Warren Wu and Terence Liao didn't have much personal beef, but Terence still felt a bit resentful. Now that he'd caught a down-and-out loser, he was definitely going to savor the moment.

But at that moment, Terence Liao suddenly noticed that Warren Wu, who'd just looked so upset, turned to stare at the teenager across from him after Harvey Liao spoke, and his expression grew rather odd.

He looked less angry now, and more... expectant and worried?

Terence Liao raised an eyebrow, finally turning to look at the teenager sitting here. The boy had delicate features with a hint of handsomeness, and his skin actually looked kind of dewy.

But it was the teenager's eyes that really caught your attention—they had a cool, calm look, like the surface of a still lake.

Terence Liao was startled inside.

Before he could say anything, Lucy Lu leaned in, sounding surprised: "It's you?"

"Huh? Xiaofei, you know him?" Queenie Tong heard Lucy Lu and looked over at the teenager, surprised.

"Yeah, didn't I tell you before I met a super young Chinese medicine doctor? He had a really amazing old master, and I wanted to introduce you so maybe he could save your sister, but I never saw him again. That's him!" Lucy Lu smiled at Evan Lin.

"It's you." Evan Lin glanced at Lucy Lu and nodded slightly.

Hearing Lucy Lu, Harvey Liao finally snorted: "So you know Xiaofei."

Harvey Liao wasn't stupid. If he just dragged Evan Lin up without explanation, Lucy Lu would definitely think less of him.

Oh! Right, I remember now—the old man! You're the one who prescribed fake medicine!' Lucy Lu saw Evan Lin, then looked at Warren Wu sitting across, her face changed as she suddenly remembered and blurted it out.

Back then, Warren Wu took money from Ping Nianhua and planned to prescribe fake medicine to harm Sheng Haiyang. But Evan Lin exposed him, and he lost face.

Thanks to Lucy Lu's shouting, Terence Liao looked at Warren Wu with even more ridicule: "Tsk tsk, even miracle doctors prescribe fake medicine now? Looks like you haven't done so well these years."

You're a disgrace to Medicine King Valley!

Warren Wu was scorned and embarrassed, unable to say a word in his own defense.

Lucy Lu looked at the seat beside Evan Lin, pulled Queenie Tong over, and smiled: "Can we sit here?"

She looked like she was asking for permission, and seemed pretty interested in Evan Lin.

Lucy Lu remembered what happened in the office before; her chest seemed to recall that strange feeling from that day, making her cheeks flush a soft pink.

Do as you please. But as for these two, did I say you could sit down?' Evan Lin looked coldly at Terence Liao and Harvey Liao, who had either sat down or were about to.

As soon as Evan Lin spoke, Terence Liao's face turned cold, while Harvey Liao looked even more pleased.

He couldn't stir up trouble in front of Lucy Lu, but if the kid provoked him, that was a different story!

Is this kid nuts? That's a Medicine King Valley Guardian!

I bet he's going to Medicine King Valley to get his brain fixed. Otherwise, no normal person would dare talk like that.

Haha, this is gonna be good!

Everyone nearby heard Evan Lin and turned to watch, their faces full of amusement.

In their eyes, both Evan Lin and Warren Wu were just old, weak, sick, or disabled—how could they possibly be a match for Terence Liao, a Guardian of Medicine King Valley?
