Chapter 1366

The crystallized Maxwell floated in midair, expressionless. He stretched out both hands, and shards of ice-like crystal swirled around him before merging into a crystalline layer covering his hands. Terrifying waves of magical power rippled outward, as runes of law floated around Maxwell’s hands and then rapidly fused into them.

A blinding light flared. At that moment, inside the cavern, Leon had just unleashed a Quad-Element Bomb. He immediately tapped the surface of the Spellbook of Ages with the Doombringer Staff, drawing forth a spell shimmering with four elemental lights. Mana surged madly into the incantation, and in an instant, another Quad-Element Bomb coalesced and shot toward the spot outside the cave with the strongest magical reaction.

Just as Maxwell’s spell was about to be released, the Quad-Element Bomb reached his vicinity. When it collided with the terrifying magical fluctuations around his body, the bomb suddenly detonated. Waves of destructive force slammed into Maxwell’s crystalline shield.

Tiny cracks appeared on the surface of the crystalline shield, but it showed no sign of shattering. Yet the Quad-Element Bomb’s explosion at such close range produced a tremendous shockwave.

The terrifying shockwave propelled Maxwell and his crystalline shield, blasting him hundreds of meters into the air. He tumbled through the sky for several seconds before regaining his balance, and the radiance gathered in his hands shot out, falling toward the cavern below.

At that moment, Leon led the group charging out of the cavern. They had barely covered a hundred meters when the two blinding bursts of light released by Maxwell fell into the cave.

Instantly, terrifying waves of magical power surged like a tsunami. The wind howled, the earth trembled, and the entire cavern shook violently.

Deep inside the cavern, the giant worms—no longer suppressed by the elemental storm—went berserk, surging toward the exit. Countless worms piled together, rolling out like a ball of marching ants...

Suddenly, blinding light erupted from within the cavern, accompanied by a barrage of explosive sounds—like a thousand bombs detonating at once.

Massive Crystal Spires exploded from the cavern walls, each spire tens of meters tall, crisscrossing the ground. Hundreds of densely packed Crystal Spires erupted upward.

In an instant, the giant worms surging from the depths of the cave were impaled by the Crystal Spires. As more spires appeared, the gaps between them shrank, and those worms not pierced were crushed by the overwhelming force—every last one was killed.

On the surface, more Crystal Spires burst from the ground, each one dozens of meters long. In less than a second, the cavern was filled with interlocking spires. From the outside, Crystal Spires erupted around the cave, resembling a colossal flower of crystal blooming hundreds of meters wide.

Turning to look at the cave now completely covered in crystal, and the area outside, Hubert’s face went pale, his lips trembling. Even with his terrifying strength, he wasn’t strong enough to ignore the eruption of these Crystal Spires—if struck head-on, he’d be run through for sure.

There were tens of thousands, maybe over a hundred thousand giant worms surging from the cave depths. Yet in an instant, every single one was annihilated.

The entire cave, and even the earth surrounding it, was pierced by countless Crystal Spires. Within hundreds of meters, every living thing was wiped out—even the rocks were crushed and shredded to fragments by the relentless crystal barrage.

Blood pooled into rivers, flowing through the gaps between the massive Crystal Spires. Thick, pungent blood spread everywhere, as if detonated into the air.

The nearest Crystal Spire was only seven or eight meters from the group. Its surface glittered like a diamond, and thick drops of blood dripped from it.

Leon glanced back at the Crystal Spires, a flash of inspiration crossing his mind—only to be interrupted in the next instant.

After missing his mark, Maxwell immediately launched a new attack. A crystal orb reflecting dazzling light plummeted from the sky. Halfway down, the orb suddenly exploded, sending countless Crystal Spires blasting outward like a rain of icy lances, covering a radius of three to four hundred meters.

The Crystal Lances hammered against Leon’s Rule Fusion Shield, producing a constant clangor. Their piercing power was terrifying—though not an especially powerful spell, the tips of these lances could easily puncture the shield. Once the tip broke through, the lance shattered into countless fragments, dissolving into a shower of crystalline light.

The battle erupted in full. Other elites of the Thorned Crown joined the fray, charging toward Leon’s group. In addition to those previously blasted away, waves of magical beasts surged forward, like a tide of giant insects.

Leon took a quiet breath and spat out three Law Sigils. Instantly, a pitch-black vortex appeared behind him, rapidly coalescing into a Gate of Worlds over ten meters tall and twenty meters wide.

A wave of fire burst from the Gate of Worlds, landing dozens of meters away. The flames receded, revealing fifty Battalion Mages. Their hair had all turned crimson, and their blazing scarlet robes made them look like phantoms born of fire.

As the fifty Battalion Mages appeared, flames began to ignite spontaneously around them. Elemental fire burned of its own accord, sending the temperature soaring.

Ever since the four major laws of earth, fire, water, and wind began to develop branches in the Natural Semi-Plane, the fifty Battalion Mages had been comprehending the power of law there. Leon’s generous demonstrations let them nearly merge directly into the Fire Law, and this method of enlightenment made their progress astonishingly fast.

From the rank of Level Five Title Archmage onward, advancement depends on comprehending the power of law. At this stage, it’s not just about accumulating mana—understanding law becomes paramount.

As long as enlightenment keeps pace, mana accumulation will follow, and their ranks will soar.

For the fifty Battalion Mages, there was no need to choose the foundation of their law—it was pure Fire Law. Yet among the fifty, their insights encompassed every branch of the Fire Law, like the major boughs splitting off a great tree, all included within their grasp.

After years of focused enlightenment, and with no need to worry about mana accumulation in the Natural Semi-Plane, the fifty Battalion Mages had become almost a single entity. Gathered together, they were nearly a complete projection of the Fire Law itself.

The strongest among them, Kurum, had reached the peak of Level Eight Title Archmage, and the weakest were at Level Seven. Fused as one, the fifty Battalion Mages could fully display the terrifying power of a mage legion—though compared to the future Burning Legion, the gap was immeasurable.

But in the current situation, no one below Sky Rank Level Three could stand alone against the mage legion!

With the mage legion summoned, another torrent of steel erupted from the Gate of Worlds—countless Alchemical Golems charged forth, the weakest at Level Thirty. These earliest golems were stock units, produced long ago and only fit to be cannon fodder.

The later mass-produced golems started at Level Thirty-Three, most were Level Thirty-Five, and a few even reached Level Thirty-Eight or Thirty-Nine.

Within seconds, four or five thousand steel soldiers surged from the Gate of Worlds, and the flow showed no sign of stopping. It seemed countless more waited on the other side.

Previously, they hadn’t dared to open the Plane Path to the Natural Semi-Plane, not even for supplies, for fear that the spatial fluctuations would awaken the monster inside. But now it didn’t matter—the monster was fully awake.

With the Gate of Worlds open, Leon soared into the sky to confront Maxwell. Here, Maxwell was the greatest threat—the others were no cause for concern.

Maxwell and Leon clashed in the sky, while on the ground, the crystallized Shelton was the strongest. After being blasted away, he returned at the fastest speed. Hubert bared his teeth in a fierce grin, hefted Slaughter, and charged forward.

Reina faced off against five crystallized bloodline warlocks. Among the Thorned Crown, Maxwell was the strongest—Sky Rank Level Five and a transplanted bloodline mage. Next was Shelton, Sky Rank Level Three, who had transplanted a demon bloodline, even demon horns and other parts, growing stronger with each battle, his combat power able to reach Sky Rank Level Four.

Then there was Sunny, also Sky Rank Level Three. Despite her fatal flaw, her true combat power surpassed most at her rank. The remaining transplanted bloodline warlocks and mages were all Sky Rank Level One.

Reina had no trouble handling five Sky Rank Level One transplanted bloodline warlocks at once. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to take on more—the other seven had already been claimed by the mage legion.

Over thirty thousand Alchemical Golems had already surged from the Gate of Worlds, and the number kept climbing. Aside from the Level Thirty cannon fodder, the rest started at Level Thirty-Three. This army plunged into the crystallized beast horde like a red-hot blade into cheese—a one-sided slaughter.

These tireless, fearless steel legions clashed with the equally countless, fearless beast horde—a brutal battle began.

The Alchemical Golem army split into dozens of spearheads, weaving through the beast horde. Every second, thousands of crystallized magical beasts were torn to pieces. The earth was littered with shattered crystal, rivers of blood flowed, and the carnage made everything go berserk—mana raged, and the storm clouds overhead were scattered.

The slaughter and destruction continued. In the sky, flying magical beasts, like a shadow covering dozens of kilometers, dove toward the ground. On the surface, tens of thousands of Spellcaster Alchemical Golems raised their arms, activating their weapon systems.

In an instant, countless red fire rays and blue frost rays converged into a massive column of red and blue light, shooting skyward. From afar, it looked like a giant pillar, a thousand meters thick, blasting into the storm clouds above.

Shattering, explosions...

Massive swathes of flying magical beast corpses and debris rained from the sky. Within several kilometers, it was as if a storm of crystal and blood was pouring down, the sound like torrential rain.

The battle raged on. The hundred thousand-strong Alchemical Golem steel army now filled the battlefield, yet these golems were not all Leon’s reserves. In the Natural Semi-Plane, the Alchemical Golem factory worked day and night, mass-producing new golems—each batch stronger than the last as research advanced.

A hundred thousand Alchemical Golems clashed with tens of millions of crystallized beasts. Even with nearly ten ranks separating their average strength, the golems’ steel legion was practically a one-sided massacre. Yet, the endless tide of crystallized beasts meant even the golems suffered casualties—though not enough to matter.

Compared to the losses suffered by the crystallized beast horde, those of the golems were utterly negligible.

From above, the earth was smothered in dense, black swarms. The beast tide swallowed the land whole, and within that darkness, more than thirty spearheads of golems wove ceaselessly—some spinning clockwise, others counterclockwise.

A single spearhead couldn’t slaughter all the crystallized magical beasts nearby, but as another swept past, it would cut down more. These advancing golem formations formed ring after ring, relentlessly devouring the beast horde’s numbers.

At the heart of the rings, Spellcaster Alchemical Golems unleashed their magic with wild abandon. They didn’t just tear through the flying beasts overhead—their spells ripped apart those crawling on the ground, far outstripping the melee golems in efficiency.

Elsewhere, the mage legion—absent from battle for ages—now faced seven transplanted bloodline warlocks. All were under the monster’s control, their bodies crystallized, yet their fighting power was undiminished. If anything, crystallization made them stronger, suppressing the bloodline’s negative effects to a minimum.

The Battalion Mages clustered together. Kurum floated in midair; twenty mages stood beneath him, ten stacked above, and the remaining twenty spread outward.

Flames roared, threads of crimson light coalescing into a Tree of Flame towering hundreds of meters high. The mages at the base formed its roots, those above became its branches, and Kurum, with nine others, stood at its trunk.

Blazing fire spread, crimson light shaping the Tree of Flame. Fire runes dangled from its branches, forming leaves, while twenty Battalion Mages hung like fruit.

Flames surged from the roots to the crown of the crimson tree, spreading slowly. At the heart of the trunk, a Law Sigil appeared, pulsing with power.
