Manager Sheng's right hand lifted slightly, and a look of difficulty appeared on his face.
Although the movement was small, it still made everyone present gasp in amazement.
"It moved!"
"It really moved! The miracle doctor truly is a miracle doctor!" Neil Ping said, face full of joy.
Warren Wu glanced at the dean and Yvonne Yun, his nose in the air: "I heard you brought in a bunch of doctors before, but none could find the cause? This hospital's standard is way too low."
Warren Wu's words made both the dean and Yvonne Yun look rather embarrassed.
"Yeah, and who arranged for Manager Sheng to be treated at this hospital anyway? I said from the start he should've gone to River City's People's Hospital. If you'd listened to me, maybe he'd be fully recovered by now." Neil Ping chimed in, glancing back at Charles Chen in the crowd.
Charles Chen's face changed. Back when Manager Sheng suddenly collapsed during a meeting, he was the one who brought Sheng here. Later, Neil Ping did suggest transferring Sheng to River City People's Hospital, but Charles, considering Sheng's condition, strongly opposed it.
Now, as soon as Neil Ping said that, Charles Chen felt his heart sink even further.
"So now, do you believe me?" Warren Wu looked at the dean and Yvonne Yun, his eyelids drooping again as if he might fall asleep any moment.
"Please, Miracle Doctor, write a prescription." The dean sighed.
Doctor Wu the Miracle Healer snorted, picked up pen and paper, and quickly wrote out a prescription to hand over.
The dean handed it to Yvonne Yun. She glanced at it, nodded silently, and beckoned Lucy Lu from outside the door.
Everyone turned their attention to Lucy Lu.
"Evan Lin?" Charles Chen and Lucy Lu spotted Evan standing next to Lucy.
Evan Lin smiled at them.
"Hmph, just loves sticking his nose in. If you spent this time reading a page or memorizing a word, it'd be better than hanging around here."
"Your mom begged everyone to get you into Brightsea City for school, not so you could waste time watching the excitement."
Charles Chen was already in a bad mood. Now, seeing Evan Lin smile at him, he felt like Evan was mocking him, which made him even angrier. He turned away, refusing to spare him another glance.
"Lucy, go grab these herbs and make them into a decoction." Yvonne Yun handed Doctor Wu the Miracle Healer's prescription to Lucy Lu.
"Alright." Lucy Lu grabbed the prescription and rushed out of the ward.
Evan Lin quietly followed after her, not making a sound.
"Why are you following me?" Lucy Lu finally noticed Evan trailing behind her.
"Can I take a look at that prescription?" Evan asked, straight to the point.
Lucy Lu remembered Evan had dabbled in TCM before, so she handed him the prescription without a second thought.
Evan scanned the prescription, his frown deepening. "This formula is supposed to unblock meridians, sure, but if you actually give it to the patient, it'll make things even worse."
"Worst case, it could leave him stuck in bed for life."
Evan had wanted to see what kind of prescription Miracle Healer Wu would use. In TCM, the way you combine herbs for the same illness says a lot about your skill.
But seeing this prescription, Evan was genuinely thrown for a moment.
This was clearly not meant to cure anyone.
"What are you talking about? Miracle Healer Wu just showed off his skills, didn’t he? Say what you want, he’s got real ability." Lucy Lu frowned, not hiding her annoyance at Evan’s muttering.
Compared to Evan, Lucy Lu still trusted Miracle Healer Wu more. He looked every bit the seasoned TCM master, while Evan—even with a supposed master behind him—was just a teenager. And TCM is all about grinding out experience over years.
"Lotus seedpod, lotus leaf, cinnamon twig, platycodon, codonopsis, astragalus—these herbs are fine. But if you throw in wasp nest, that’s a problem. Codonopsis and astragalus are yang-tonics, wasp nest is yin. Put them together and not only won’t you nourish the blood or open the channels, you’ll actually make the blood congeal. The symptoms will get worse, not better." Evan explained, sounding like he knew exactly what he was talking about.
Lucy Lu frowned, glancing at Evan’s confident face. She was wavering, but then remembered Miracle Healer Wu’s earlier display and shook her head. "Maybe you’ve got a point, but he’s still a miracle doctor. He must have his reasons for the way he prescribes medicine."
"No time to argue—I’ve got to get these herbs and start decocting, or my chief’s going to chew me out." Lucy Lu snatched the prescription back from Evan and hurried off, not bothering to listen any further.
Right now, nobody’s going to take me seriously. Whatever. If it wasn’t for Aunt Sharon, I wouldn’t even bother with this mess." Evan sighed.
Back on the Immortal Martial Continent, there were millions who begged for a word of advice from Evan Nine Mysteries Lin. Whether it was medicine, alchemy, or Daoist arts—a single tip from him could change their fate.
Who’d have thought I’d end up here, getting brushed off like this?
Not that Evan was actually upset. Three hundred years ago, he transcended tribulation and earned the title Nine Mysteries Immortal Lord, drawing all races to worship him. Standing atop billions, his Dao heart was solid as a rock.
If I wasn’t stuck at first-layer Qi-Refining, unable to use qi to heal others, I wouldn’t need to jump through all these hoops.
