Chapter 946: Mage Legion

These cannon fodder, when faced with the Bladewalker Alchemical Golem, don’t even need a second strike. One swing is enough to turn them into a pile of scrap metal parts.

But there are simply too many of these cannon fodder. In a single second, a Bladewalker Alchemical Golem can dismantle three Monster Alchemical Golems into pieces, but in that same moment, at least seven or eight more Monster Alchemical Golems will pounce, overwhelming the Bladewalker with sheer numbers and tearing it apart.

As for the Spellcaster Alchemical Golems in the rear, their spells can’t reach the Gray Orcs at the back. Instead, the Gray Orcs’ magic comes crashing down in waves—within mere seconds, three Spellcaster Alchemical Golems are shredded into spare parts by enemy spells...

Seizing the upper hand, the Gray Orcs howl orders, driving the Monster Alchemical Golems into a relentless charge. Thousands of Monster Alchemical Golems surge forward like a tide, even more terrifying than a beast horde. Anything standing in their way is ripped to shreds.

When Leon’s group arrived, what they saw was the Alchemical Golem Army being forced to retreat under constant pressure.

The Gray Orcs rode atop alchemical golem mounts, howling and waving their arms. The magical patterns on their bodies flared to life, and massive meteors trailed black smoke as they crashed down.

Azure tornadoes twisted down from the sky like crazed serpents, constantly disrupting the Bladewalker Alchemical Golems’ charge. Any golem caught in the whirlwind was shredded by the endless blades of wind within.

Icicle after icicle fell like rain, mixed with snow and wind. The ground froze in wide patches, slowing the Alchemical Golems’ movements. Frost formed around their joints, and the moment they slowed, the Monster Alchemical Golems swarmed like rabid dogs, tearing them into spare parts.

Sometimes, without warning, enormous spikes two or three meters long would shoot up from the ground. The golems struck by these earth spikes hung there like grasshoppers skewered by mischievous children, struggling until the Monster Alchemical Golems pounced and ripped them apart.

With only the Alchemical Golem Army deployed, the advantage was entirely with the Gray Orcs—even if the Monster Alchemical Golems suffered losses at least five times greater than Leon's own forces.

Yet the casualties among the Monster Alchemical Golems were mostly those at level ten or twenty; not a single level thirty golem was lost.

On Leon’s side, even the lowest Bladewalker Alchemical Golems were level thirty and above.

Seeing this, Leon kept silent. The Mage Legion surged forward—fifty Battalion Mages moving with uncanny coordination. Kurum, their commander, barely needed to speak; a single gesture was enough to signal the entire group.

Most of the time, they could sense what to do just by feeling the shifts in each other's magical energy.

With the Alchemical Golem Army suppressed, the Mage Legion didn't hold back. The instant they appeared, all fifty Battalion Mages unleashed their Fire Elemental Avatars.

Dragon Scale Staffs, magical runes, Flame Robes—all activated at once, drawing endless fire elements into the ranks of the Mage Legion.

Within two seconds, clusters of Elemental Fire formed; by five seconds, a hundred-meter radius around the Mage Legion had become a blazing sea of fire, and it was still expanding.

In the crimson sea of flames, streaks of blinding orange fire shone like sunlight, sending waves of heat and gusts swirling outward.

Instead of casting spells from afar, the Mage Legion formed a colossal Alchemical Magic Array and advanced to meet the grotesque Monster Alchemical Golems head-on.

As the crimson Elemental Fire sea spread with the Mage Legion’s advance, a spider-type Alchemical Golem rushed into the flames, its eight blade-like legs slicing toward the Battalion Mages. Even in the heart of the fire, its blades barely faltered.

The blades struck—even though the attacker was only a level twenty-five Alchemical Golem, none of the Battalion Mages could withstand the blow physically.

Yet not a single Battalion Mage raised a protective spell...

Streaks of blinding orange flame drifted through the crimson sea, brushing gently over the spider-type Alchemical Golem’s body like a caress.

In an instant, the spider golem’s eight blade-like legs turned red-hot and melted away within half a second. A streak of orange flame grazed its body.

Suddenly, the spider golem, now legless, glowed like a red-hot iron. Half its body melted into molten metal, the rest warping into a twisted lump under the searing heat.

The first spider-type Alchemical Golem charged into the fire, followed by a swarm of grotesque Monster Alchemical Golems. Fearlessly, they plunged in; those at level ten or so turned red-hot within seconds.

If touched by those drifting orange flames, they instantly melted into pools of molten metal. The level twenty-plus golems fared only slightly better, but even they were ruined by the blinding orange fire—their parts burned and twisted into bizarre shapes.

These blinding orange flames weren’t ordinary fire, but formed only when elemental flames reached a certain concentration.

The Mage Legion’s magical runes—Blaze Storm—didn’t just create a whirlwind of ordinary fire, but something far more like a true elemental storm.

[Irrelevant passage skipped: 'Please click next page to continue reading.']

It was solar fire, merging into solar wind, and when concentrated enough, it became a firestorm capable of annihilating everything.

This was a fire so fierce it could warp space itself. Even in the Age of Gods and Demons, only divine beings could survive such a void firestorm.

Those endless kilometers of orange flames were the wellspring of destruction, a calamity rivaling the void elemental storm.

In the future, when the Burning Legion stands among the top three powers of Northend World, their combined might will unleash a fire sea stretching dozens of kilometers. Endless destruction will spread—anyone below Sky Rank who enters that inferno is doomed, and numbers cease to matter.

Leon’s Mage Legion, in terms of strength, couldn’t even match the weakest squad of the Burning Legion—yet even now, they were beginning to show terrifying power.

Those flames, bright as the sun, were a terror to rival hellfire; even a sliver was more than any low-level Alchemical Golem could endure.

The frenzied Monster Alchemical Golems hurled themselves into the fire sea, but couldn’t get within thirty meters of the Mage Legion—all were incinerated.

With the Mage Legion’s charge, the Alchemical Golem Army’s retreat slowed considerably.

But the Gray Orcs wouldn’t let the Mage Legion break through. As soon as the Battalion Mages tore open the Monster Alchemical Golem ranks, several level thirty-plus golems charged into the fire sea.

At the front was a four- or five-meter-tall Monster Alchemical Golem, Kodo Beast-like and hideous, its body armored in solid magical metal. When it charged, the earth trembled.

The beast charged into the fire sea, shrugging off the crimson Elemental Flames. Even the blinding orange solar fire only left black, scorched marks across its hide.

Kurum’s face stayed blank as he slowly raised his Dragon Scale Staff. Instantly, the wandering solar flames converged in a frenzy onto the Kodo Beast Alchemical Golem.

Whoosh...

The flames howled, and with a roar, the charging giant toppled. Its armor was charred black but still held—yet all its joints had been melted by the infernal fire.

The toppled Kodo Beast Alchemical Golem slid across the ground for more than a hundred meters before coming to a stop.

The other level thirty Monster Alchemical Golems met the same fate. Their exteriors were clad in rare magical metal, offering strong resistance to the flames, but not every part of their bodies was so resilient.

The joints and seams of their armor couldn’t withstand the solar flames. Once the fire slipped inside, there was no fate but destruction.

Seeing that sheer numbers couldn’t suppress the Mage Legion, the Gray Orcs immediately began casting spells. A group of scrawny Gray Orcs raised their hands, magical tattoos flashing wildly.

A barrage of four-element spells merged into a chaotic rain, pouring down on the Mage Legion.

Chaos erupted as spells fell, violent magical surges spreading. The four elements clashed and exploded, whipping up great waves in the sea of fire.

Even the blinding orange solar flames swirling through the fire sea became uncontrollable, and the Mage Legion’s advance slowed.

Kurum’s face remained cold as his staff sent out a ripple. Instantly, elemental fire converged to form shields of flame within the fire sea.

The rest of the Battalion Mages followed suit, mirroring his movements.

In an instant, over a hundred flame shields, each two or three meters wide, appeared. They merged into a massive barrier, blocking the Gray Orcs’ frenzied spells. Elemental fire surged beneath, constantly feeding the shields.

With their assault drawn to the Mage Legion, the Gray Orcs’ pressure on the Alchemical Golem Army eased considerably.
