Bloodfiend Guard

"The South Domain has rebelled too?"

"How come there wasn’t any warning at all?"

Many people were stunned by this news, while some ambitious types were secretly delighted. Just as the East Domain coalition was being beaten back by the Military Council’s main forces, the South Domain suddenly rebelled—and was now sending troops to help the East.

The powerful momentum the Military Council had worked so hard to build was instantly torn open by a huge rift.

When news of the South Domain’s rebellion reached them, all eight elders were shaken, especially Elder Chu, who erupted in fury. She’d never dreamed the person leading the South Domain’s revolt would be Leon Huang!

She was both anxious and furious, gritting her teeth and shouting, “I knew that kid was trouble from the start! If I’d killed him earlier no matter the cost, none of this would be happening. Too bad it’s too late for regrets now!”

Elder Nian immediately convened another meeting of the Military Council’s elders.

Lately, the eight elders had been holding meeting after meeting—something unheard of in the past.

Elders’ Council Chamber.

All eight elders gathered together, their expressions grim. Just when it looked like they’d finally crushed the East Domain’s spirit, the South Domain Martial Alliance suddenly appeared.

“Everyone, what are your thoughts and suggestions about the South Domain’s rebellion?” Elder Nian looked around, his face dark.

None of the seven elders dared to speak rashly.

Sending troops to attack is clearly unrealistic. The Military Council may have tens of millions of soldiers, but more than five million are already stationed on seven frontier battlefields.

Three hundred thousand elite troops have already been dispatched to attack the East Domain.

Even if they tried to redeploy, at best they could scrape together a million men. Besides, the South Domain’s army is already marching to the East Domain, so even if the Council wanted to send troops, it would be too late.

Knowing this, no one dared to speak lightly.

“Elder Chu, do you have any good suggestions?” Elder Nian’s gaze fell on Elder Chu.

Put on the spot, Elder Chu knew she couldn’t refuse. Just as she was worrying about how to answer, a thought struck her: “Why not send the Bloodfiend Guard to assassinate Leon Huang!”

At the mention of “Bloodfiend Guard,” all the elders, including Elder Nian, couldn’t help but change expression.

“That’s not wise. The Bloodfiend Guard are almost impossible to control, and their killing intent is too strong. Releasing them would be a disaster!” Elder Jason Jiang, usually quiet, spoke in a low voice, his eyes full of dread.

Elder Chu’s voice rang out, full of sarcasm and pointed challenge. “To achieve great things, you can’t fuss over details. Sure, releasing the Bloodfiend Guard will cause endless trouble, but Elder Jiang, have you thought about what happens if the South Domain actually helps the East Domain succeed? The other seven regions will definitely have ambitious people rise up. By then, our Military Council will be nothing but an empty name. Compared to the Council’s survival, what does a little collateral damage from the Bloodfiend Guard matter?”

“No matter what, I refuse to support deploying the Bloodfiend Guard!” Elder Jason Jiang said firmly.

Elder Chu sneered, “If Elder Jiang doesn’t want to use the Bloodfiend Guard, I’m sure he has a better solution for dealing with the South Domain. Why not share it and enlighten us?”

Faced with Elder Chu’s mocking words, Elder Jiang flushed red. “I don’t have a good solution either.”

Elder Chu pressed on, “If there’s no other way, then we have to use the Bloodfiend Guard! What does everyone think?”

No one spoke. Instinctively, they all looked to Elder Nian, waiting for his decision.

The Bloodfiend Guard are a group of killing machines with no human emotions. They’re cruel, cold, and love battle.

According to the Military Council’s records, five hundred years ago, three Bloodfiend Guards were sent out on a mission. They completed their task, but slaughtered more than three hundred thousand innocent people along the way.

Two hundred seventy-six years ago, the Military Council sent out five Bloodfiend Guards. This time, they wiped out a small city of a million, turning it into a haunted ruin. To this day, anyone who enters can still hear the howls of vengeful ghosts.

The most recent deployment was over eighty years ago. Learning from past disasters, only two Bloodfiend Guards were sent, but after being locked up so long, they went on a killing spree—slaughtering villages, killing anyone they met.

More than two million people died by their blades. Seeing things couldn’t go on like this, the military destroyed the two Bloodfiend Guards before they could finish their mission.

Now, fewer than thirty Bloodfiend Guards remain, most already dying of old age in captivity.

Elder Nian didn’t speak right away, lost in thought. After a long pause, a poisonous glint flashed in his eyes: “I agree to deploy the Bloodfiend Guard!”

Seeing Elder Nian agree, Elder Chu was thrilled. “I agree too!” she said, deliberately glancing at Elder Zhang.

After a moment’s thought, Elder Zhang nodded. “I agree as well!”

Deploying the Bloodfiend Guard would cause massive casualties, but compared to the Council’s rule, the deaths of “irrelevant” people meant nothing. After all, he was used to wielding power as an elder—if the Council was dissolved, how would he keep his privileges?

“Everyone, deploying the Bloodfiend Guard will cause a massacre. If the world finds out, our Council’s reputation will be ruined!” Elder Jason Jiang said painfully.

“Hmph, the Bloodfiend Guard is our Council’s highest-level secret. As long as we don’t leak it, who will know?” Elder Chu snorted coldly.

In the end, five agreed to deploy the Bloodfiend Guard. Elder Huangpu and Elder Li abstained, and Elder Jason Jiang opposed.

“Alright, the proposal to deploy the Bloodfiend Guard is passed. Now, how many should we send?” Elder Nian asked again.

A venomous look flashed in Elder Chu’s eyes. “I propose releasing all the Bloodfiend Guards—split them into two teams: one to the East Domain to kill Raymond Lei, one to the South Domain to kill Leon Huang!”

“Elder Chu, are you crazy? If all thirty Bloodfiend Guards are deployed, at least ten million civilians will die!” Elder Jason Jiang shouted.

“Both the East and South Domains are rebel territories—who cares how many die!” Elder Chu said darkly.

“Even if the East and South Domains have rebelled, ordinary people are innocent. I oppose sending all the Bloodfiend Guards!” Elder Jason Jiang argued.

“Elder Chu, that’s going too far. Deploying all the Bloodfiend Guards really isn’t acceptable!” Elder Huangpu also objected.

“Enough, let’s send twenty Bloodfiend Guards—ten to the East Domain, ten to the South Domain!” Elder Nian decided, then looked at Elder Chu. “Elder Chu, you’ll be responsible for releasing them.”

“Understood, Elder Nian. You can count on me!”

After the council meeting ended, Elder Chu hurried out of the Holy City with two Martial Saint guards, using a secret teleportation array in a satellite city to reach a remote mountain.

The mountain was eerily silent, not a sound to be heard—sinister and terrifying.
